Family on holiday in the same place as us had a dog called Colin. He was very serious when we met him.

As a young single mum one of my neighbours had an errant dog called Rambo. Made me laugh every night they were calling him in for tea ;D

My Staffies were called Barry, Boston and Mr Johnson! I didn't know what Johnson meant until someone in a pub laughed when I told them his name 😳

Many years ago I stood at a bus stop and a very old lady literally shuffled past me behind her very old Spaniel dog, it was called Julie. I've never forgotten it.

Agree people names are funniest. Greyhounds often have people names like “ Rab” or “Bob”
In my work there’s a little dog called exact name changed Lord Dolce of Gabbana and we all full name him without thinking about it now

Whenever I hear her owner call her from across the park in a Flintstone-esque "WILMAAAA" - it makes me smile and want to shout back Yabba Dabba Doo!

This is Winifred Delores. She also has a double barrelled surname. We only use her full name when we are being formal. She is mostly called Boof.

Met a cutie called Martin (Dog not owner!) was looking for this ladys husband at first!

I had a collie whippet cross called Pat, she died 6 years ago aged 18 & 1/2. Best dog I've ever had.
Have a sprollie called Dolly and a tan collie called Nala now

Not RL, but I'm reading The Light Years at the mo and one of the children (they're on holiday in East Sussex) has just insisted on bringing back a jellyfish from the beach to keep in the bath. He's called it Bexhill.

Just noticed that cat names are creeping in. Friends had Canopus and Tumbledown around the time of the Falkland crisis.
