I always wanted a Beagle dog and to name him Eddie - Eddie the Beagle 🤣🤣🤣
I do now have a dog that is crossed with a Beagle, but apart from his bark, it is in no way obvious, so the above name would be like 🤨🤨🤨🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

@QueenofLouisiana

I had a border collie called Comet. His mother was Hailey, so he was Hailey’s Comet.

I now have Lord Archibald, obviously known as Archie. Ex-racer who didn’t know his name at all when we got him. I believe his kennel name was linked to his ear tattoos.

You can find all his history from his tattoos. If he's only tattooed in one ear he's English, both ears and he's Irish. You can Google the racing boards for each country and find out his racing history, pedigree etc

@JauntyJinty

Achilies

So you can should "Achilies Heel" and then when they don't so it say "They're really well trained, that's their one weakness"

I love this haha.

An enormous Neapolitan mastiff, though still a puppy: Kevin.

Whambamthankyoumaam21 · 07/01/2022 05:03

Fizz bucket, a massive Rottweiler I saw at the vets a few weeks ago!

SusieQ5604 · 07/01/2022 05:13

Who Dat (chihuahua after a football chant)
Who Dun It (named by vet in confusion over Who Dat!)
Snarls Barkley (after a US basketball player)

Walls. A sausage dog.

I've had to change my name to post this but my big black German shepherd was called Fanny Ballbag Sequana (seemed like a really good idea when I got her in my early 20's, 10 years later once I'd had a child and was explaining to nursery whyy daughter spoke about Fanny... Not so much.

Also ended up rescuing Fanny's mum... Another German Shepherd who weighed around 45kg. Called her Minnie 😊

Oh, if we're expanding this, I know someone with a rescued rabbit named Daenerys. She didn't name her, the rescue did. But its obvious why. I never knew a rabbit could be so intimidating. She's an all-black rex rabbit, quite beautiful, but not affectionate at all and quite...scary. She has very flat black eyes and I find her totally unreadable. Maybe it's because I don't know much about rabbits but I find it really hard to guess what she thinks or wants. She just...stares. And if you put your hand too close to her 'stuff' she'll lunge at you really aggressively. She does let her owner pet her, and sort of flattens herself to better appreciate the stroking and slits her eyes. But to everyone else she is quite scary.

Remembered late last night that there was a Dachshund in our street when I was a child owned by a Piano Teacher.

The sausage dog was named Johann Sebastian Bach.

Riddo · 07/01/2022 07:25

My Uncle's cats were called Bruce and Sheila 🙂

56Beetle · 07/01/2022 07:51

A couple used to come into our local pub with their lovely dog called ‘nosey’ - I asked them why they called it ‘nosey’ and they said their surname was Parker

buntybanana · 07/01/2022 08:12

A sausage dog called Schnitzel Von Krumb - I believe it was inspired by a children's book

AssignedBlobbyAtBirth · 07/01/2022 08:18

Hairy Maclary from Donaldsons dairy
My kids loved the books and the names are fab

I think this is the same book series as Schnitzel von Krumm!

DedafalalalalalusBloom · 07/01/2022 08:24

I've had cats called
Fringy Shirt ( Frank Zappa lyric)
Mugtree
Cattra (fourth cat we had)
Funf ( fifth cat we had)
Cruise Missile ( she ended up being called Daisy, rather boringly)

I know 2 lovely lurchers called Nimrod and Fleet both of which I think are gorgeous names.

Hawdyerwheesht · 07/01/2022 08:43

Doug

Ktktkt17 · 07/01/2022 09:44

Cats called as follows
Sonic
Tails
and Knuckles
All named by my children - Can you tell they were 80s kids!!!!

theruffles · 07/01/2022 10:11

Pat (the dog)
Captain - who was the most lovely scruffy little crossbreed who wouldn't leave his owner's side when he popped into the place I work.

MrsSkylerWhite · 07/01/2022 10:14

Lollop

Teaforme123 · 07/01/2022 10:20

Mike Hat!

Mike Hat is my dog ... Line from Bridesmaids 😂

Teaforme123 · 07/01/2022 10:22

Not bridesmaids sorry, I meant Ghostbusters

maddening · 07/01/2022 10:23

Family friends called their dog Wag - so wag the dog 😊 mildly political joke

scooterbear · 07/01/2022 10:29

My step children have managed to change one of our dogs names. She is officially called Lyra. But they said 'Are you our good girly?' so often to her that she now answers to that. It's a bit if a mouthful yelling 'areyouourgoodgirly?' To get her to come back in the woods if I'm honest...also she isnt particularly a good girly.
