Not a dog, but one of my favorite cat names in the world is "Noble Fur." Noble Fur recently died, and I'm a bit bereft, even though she was not mine.

And there's my neighbor, who named her VERY rambunctious kitten "Uriel Michael Frederico Nicholas Cat." (U MF'N Cat). Her intent was to call him by his initials, but I convinced her to try "Uri," because of the angelic association...maybe it would rub off.

My dog is Bertie, called after my Great Uncle Robert (known as Bertie) who died in the Battle of Loos - we weren’t close. I often think he would have been better as a Schubert. It has a better ring to it.
