A friend of mine has a dog called Winnie. Not unusual for little old ladies to turn around when he calls her.

MalfunctioningRobot · 06/01/2022 21:51

I like pets with human names, an ex boyfriend had a dog called Graham.

In the park where I take my dog, there’s a man with a dog called Atticus, he’s really bouncy and playful (the dog) and it always makes me smile when his owner is shouting ‘Atticus stop that’ Grin I’ve also heard of a dog called Pinecone which I love, I might steal that one for my next dog!

My lovely cocker spaniel was named Song Thrush on her papers (hunting bred but she was allergic to grass so clearly would never be able to hunt), I used to call her River for River Song. It suited her as she was so full of energy and her long hairs on her ears always flowing.

Lady in our local park walks a giant but handsome and gentle mastiff called Solomon.

He truly is a king of dogs.

@elvis4nuts

Elvis!!
I had a cat named Elvis.

The vets (he kept getting flipping run over and breaking limbs) would call him in and shout "Is Elvis in the building!"

Disclaimer: we live semi rural and the road he got run down on sees maybe 10 cars a day. He just had extraordinarily bad road sense.

Is your friend a kiwi? The Footrot Flats cat was called Horse.

I've met Nails, a tough little terrier, and James, a cocker with a rather nice quite posh owner.

I used to have two cats, brothers, who were polar opposites of each other. One large, dopey, passive, no common sense. The other smaller, wiry, bossy, whip smart.

They had to be George and Lennie.
