What toys from your childhood would you love to see again?

I'm a 90s baby and have recently been reminded of my old Polly Pocket collection. I've kept a fair few of my childhood toys (Sylvanian families and various Playmobile sets) for my future children, but am thinking of starting to collect vintage Polly Pocket sets just for nostalgia!

If you could have/collect any of your childhood toys, what would you wish to have most?

I had this Barbie which went missing in a house move. Would love to still have her.

As soon as I read the title of your thread I immediately thought of Polly Pocket. I had a few sets. My favourite one was the 2001 Diamond wonderland (I had to look it up)! I spent many happy hours playing with that.

I also had a Skipper doll which I loved! I was very imaginative as a child and loved to make up stories and type them on my computer (age of dial up internet). I remember being devastated when I had to donate them to the charity shop at age 13 because I was told I was too old to play with them.

Pippa dolls.

I had 4 or 5 of them. I played with them every day. They were like miniature barbie dolls. I had a Barbie but preferred Pippa. Nicer for little hands :)

My beautiful Ballerina Sindy doll.

A fashion toy - not fashion wheel though.
It was a lidded box with the relief of a woman that you could apply fabrics too she had plastic wigs and shoes that you could clip on afterwards. I think about that toy more than I should!

Littlest pet shop, but not like the ones they do now... they used to be really cute and tiny. Now they seem to be like the animal version of those lol dolls or whatever they are, with huge exaggerated eyes, and just not realistic at all. Sigh.

Popples, Keypers, Sweet Secrets, Lil Babies, Snugglebums.

I had a large doll that was given to me by an aunt when she arrived in England from what became East Germany. She lived in a carry cot under my bed and one day, when I was at Primary School, my mother threw her away as she decided I was too old for her! I can still see her with her plaits and in her dress and apron.

I was born in 1970 and my absolute favorite toy was a Big Wheel trike. It was so fun doing turns and I could keep my favorite stuffed toy in the back compartment. I loved it!

Here's a video and I hope you can see it.

My little ponies. My bmx.
Some toy plastic treehouse with little animals. Mid 80's but someone gave it me so possibly older. It was given away because it apparently had parts missing and I had nicer toys.
A huge antique wooden rocking horse. I refused to part with it, and because it was a hand me down and valuable it was one of the few things I didn't just come home and discover had been given away. It was put away and when I went to reclaim it after university it had been destroyed by mice and damp.
Cabbage patch kids. Don't know why, I didn't like dolls in general and never played with them.
Spirograph and etch a sketch.

@Toomuchtoodo Much love for Peaches and Cream Barbie!

She was the most beautiful creation with her waist the equivalent of 14 inches, Knotts Landing plastic surgery features, amazing transforming faux chiffon stole and the ring you shove in the gaping hole drilled in her hand ❤️

Still have mine that has been inherited by the kids and the Twirl and Curl (?) Barbie that had a tres sophisticated ‘styling tool’ that my DM had to cut out of my fringe after it got entangled.

Happy memories Grin

PoodleKaboodle · 03/01/2022 22:24

@foxgoosefinch My sister dropped mine in the bath, never got over it tbh.

I loved my Big Yellow Teapot, I gave all the little people and the dog names.

swashbucklecheer · 03/01/2022 22:26

I was going to say the big yellow tea pot too but I see I was beaten to it. I loved that toy Smile
