What toys from your childhood would you love to see again?

I'm a 90s baby and have recently been reminded of my old Polly Pocket collection. I've kept a fair few of my childhood toys (Sylvanian families and various Playmobile sets) for my future children, but am thinking of starting to collect vintage Polly Pocket sets just for nostalgia!

If you could have/collect any of your childhood toys, what would you wish to have most?

@CamsPaisleyCuffs

These 2 beauties.
I had forgotten these. I LOVED my little Post Office! Would love one for my kids.

My DD (2) got a big yellow Teapot for Christmas because I loved it so much as a kid. She loves it and so does my ds (6). It's wonderful watching them enjoying playing with it. Got it on ebay.

My dolls' house. It was made for me by a family friend so it's irreplaceable. My parents kept it in their loft for years but a few years ago they moved and asked me if I would have any use for it, I said no....really regret it now. I loved that house & spent hours playing with it. I do still have all the furniture which I bought with my pocket money during the 70s-80s.
Like a PP, I also had a Ballerina Sindy, I had forgotten about her until now. I wanted a Sindy for ages but my mum had to be persuaded into buying one for me, I was so delighted when she relented and I got my Sindy

Flower fairies - I had a collection and the house thing and my parents threw them out!
Sweet Secrets
Keypers
Those mini piano things
Major Morgan

The big red fun bus.

Phos · 03/01/2022 23:02

Polly Pocket and Pound Puppies came immediately to mind.

Also already mentioned but Speak and Spell/Speak and Maths. I sometimes look on eBay and consider buying one.

Skyeheather · 03/01/2022 23:09

Glo Friends - little plastic bugs that you held up to the light and they then glowed in the dark. They came with a little sleeping bag to put them in. Had them in the mid 1980's I think.

jellybe · 03/01/2022 23:11

I had a Precious Place Mansion and other buildings that went with it. I loved. I thought it was so cool and really wish now that teenage me hadn't sold it.

PlantWitch · 03/01/2022 23:16

Does anyone remember Keypers? I loved them, just googled my favourite one and the nostalgia has really hit!

I still have the treehouse. My 2 daughters have played with it and love it. When my youngest is too old for it, it will go in the loft for grandchildren.
Livefortherain · 03/01/2022 23:17

My mum actually kept my Fisher Price dolls house, TY beanie teddies, the tiny Polly Pockets and the bigger ones! She gave them to me a few years ago and now my children play with them 🥰

I also have my toy pram from when I was 8, it is massive but folds down and my children love it. My nearly 4 year old enjoys being pushed around by my 8 year old haha.

My mum told me to sell the Polly Pockets because I have so many but I couldn't because I have such fond memories of them. I actually do have the diamond wonderland mentioned above!

I had one of these, I loved it!

I still pine for:
Keypers (I had the swan plus her baby, and the penguin baby)
Fashion Wheel
Hobby Girl knitting machine
My Little Pony grooming parlour
Sindy dream house with working lift
Lundby dolls house

TrainspottingWelsh · 03/01/2022 23:21

@CamsPaisleyCuffs I think that's the treehouse thing I had. I don't remember many people, I remember more animals and a little yellow swing. I was only a toddler so I suppose I could be mixed up with another toy.

Pound puppies were great.

I remember my friend had a cricket doll, her older brother used to put his home made mix tapes in. Cricket miming to rave music was epic.

Rhannion · 03/01/2022 23:22

Ballerina Sindy doll absolutely loved that doll.
Pippa dolls, they had fantastic clothes & fitted in your pocket.

Stath · 03/01/2022 23:24

@PlantWitch I had the same Keyper!

Cherrytart23 · 03/01/2022 23:25

Big yellow tea pot. My nan had one in her house it was well play with by all us grandkids it may well still be their last week I noticed my dd playing with cards we played with when little I must ask.

TrashyPanda · 03/01/2022 23:26

@DroopyClematis

Clackers!
I still have mine, circa 1970/71. Can still do them too!

For me, it would be a hand-knitted fawn, made by my mum, that I always took to bed with me. My hideous sister threw him out (on purpose, as an adult, because she knew it would hurt me)

I loved him so much, just thinking about him makes me want to cry.

I managed to keep mine into adulthood, they were in my nan's loft. When she died I asked to be told when they found them so I could collect them. They got thrown in the skip. I'm still furious and keep looking up my favourites on ebay Sad
WithRosesAroundTheDoor · 03/01/2022 23:34

I was born mid 80s

Loved my Quints and Quint's cousins dolls.
Puppies in my pocket
Dream phone ( I wasn't allowed on but my friend had it)
Horse riding stable Lego

gelatodipistacchio · 03/01/2022 23:36

@Toomuchtoodo I FEEL CERTAIN I HAD THIS BARBIE TOO.

You have blown my mind.

I grew up in America. I adored all of my Strawberry Shortcake dolls and my Sweet Secrets. They hold the fondest place in my heart of all toys I have had, probably.

LemonMuffins · 03/01/2022 23:38

Lights Alive. I also loved my Polly Pockets. Wish I still had them Sad

Obsidiansphere · 03/01/2022 23:38
