Supermarket canapés!

Glentheredbeakbattleostrich · 30/12/2021 07:50

We are making a charcuterie board, with baked camembert, some nice breads, bits of party food and a couple of very nice bottles of wine. We were going to go out but really can't be bothered.

This would be my usual choice, and it's ideal. But we've been eating cheese for 3 days due to being too lazy to shop/buying far too much Xmas cheese 😂🤣 I also love a fondue. DS is wanting steaks, might see if he fancies making something fancy like a Wellington ☺️

This. I have been craving it. The DCs will eat it and I will do a tofu stirfry for DH.

I will add some broccoli on the side. Probably.

M&S party food. Left over cheese from Christmas. Can't wait

Crunchymum · 30/12/2021 08:07

Chinese takeaway.

sparklemagicsnow · 30/12/2021 08:14

@Crunchymum

Chinese takeaway.
Same here! Zero effort or washing up. Grin
Southtrainer · 30/12/2021 08:17

Fondue!

doggydaft · 30/12/2021 08:18

Lentil soup, steak pie and sticky toffee pudding.
Hopefully the tesco delivery won't have any ridiculous substitutions because two of the DC have covid so we're all stuck in 🤦‍♀️

Toottooot · 30/12/2021 08:19

Fish and chips from the local chipper.

poorbuthappy · 30/12/2021 08:23

Leg of lamb

delilahbucket · 30/12/2021 08:25

We're cooking a nice meal, Jamie Oliver's Bloody Mary Crumpets and then a roasted rump steak, also Jamie Oliver. We were going to go out but the cost is ridiculous and we figured we could do better ourselves.

Alsonification · 30/12/2021 08:27

It’s my dads birthday that day & my parents are coming for dinner. Told dad he could have whatever he wanted as it’s his birthday so he’s requested chicken, ham & leek pie with mash & greens followed by bread & butter pudding with custard Grin

SpookyScarySkeletons · 30/12/2021 08:27

Frozen party bits plus cheese and biscuits and pate and warm bread.

MelonTits · 30/12/2021 08:28

Steak pie, and a selection of mini desserts from M&S. possibly a salmon starter, haven’t decided yet. Plenty of champagne.

NYE is our first day out of isolation so I’m looking forward to it.

Itonlytakesonetree · 30/12/2021 08:32

It was going to be party food but for some dreadful reason food has started to taste grim, like utterly disgusting (guessing covid related), so I'm quite put off food at the mo. DD would happily have pasta, so it may just be that instead.

Bluntness100 · 30/12/2021 08:34

I’ve a house full, as we are having a party, so am making a big spag Bol, salad and garlic bread.

Redwinestillfine · 30/12/2021 08:35

Beef roast with all the trimmings

tiredanddangerous · 30/12/2021 08:35

Party food from M&S I think.

WhatAHexIGotInto · 30/12/2021 08:37

Gammon cooked in coke, roast potatoes, red cabbage with apple and roasted broccoli. Cheeseboard afterwards.

dustandfluf · 30/12/2021 08:42

Cheeeeeessssseeeeee & wiiiiiiinnnneee!

wineandsunshine · 30/12/2021 08:46

I think we will go for a local curry!

I'm full of cheese and crackers so need a change!

drpet49 · 30/12/2021 08:50

Finally decided last nice lobster and celeriac remoulade to start. Some sort of pork shank, dauphinoise potatoes, green veg for the main course. Tiramisu for dessert.

SFisnotsimple · 30/12/2021 08:55

We are out but for lunch will have a fiery hot Thai red vegetable curry with green beans, sugar snaps, peppers, mushrooms etc plus jasmine rice.

Christmas Eve we had a gorgeous seafood platter with crab claws, lobster tails, shell on giant prawns etc.
