Ever watched a new show you love and no-one else has seen it?

I just started watching This Is Us this week and I’m completely hooked but no-one else I know has seen it or wants to see it. It’s rubbish when this happens and you want someone else to get excited about it with you. It was the same when I watched Fleabag and The End of the Fucking World. Ever had this happen to you?

@redfairy

Zomboat. Combining zombies, canalboats and Birmingham. What's not to love
I can't think of many things I'd like to watch less Grin
VHLV · 23/12/2021 23:10

Seinfeld

Larryyourwaiter · 23/12/2021 23:12

Dead like Me was the best.

This is Us is total sentimental tripe as far as I’m concerned.

I started Rizolli and Isles and lost interest, it’s not gritty enough for me. I liked first series of For the People. Couldn’t get into series two at all.

@VHLV

Seinfeld
Seinfeld is one of the most popular TV programmes ever made, what kind of circle do you have that no one has ever heard of it?
SweetsAndChocolates · 23/12/2021 23:37

@Innatenvi I really enjoyed Elite.

Also enjoyed 3% recently.
Jane the virgin was good, long winded but good Grin

@NutellaEllaElla

No one's ever seen Blue Stone 42 and it was great
LOVED Blue Stone 42Grin
TitilatedOcelot · 24/12/2021 00:52

If you liked The End of The Fucking World, try Wayne - it's on Prime. Only one series, but I know hardly anyone who's seen it.

I loved For All Mankind on Apple TV, don't know anyone else who's watched it, but keep recommending it.

Orphan Black was great but has now gone off Netflix.

Problem is there is way too much out there.

Marianne1234 · 24/12/2021 00:56

White Lotus. That was fucked up.

Moonlaserbearwolf · 24/12/2021 01:04

@slowtik

Yes! Young sheldon! I thought it was brilliant!
Same here! Nobody else I know seems remotely keen on watching it.
Anoisagusaris · 24/12/2021 01:09

@MarshaBradyo

Fauda is superb

Israel / Pakistan fighting - very tense and good

Yes it’s excellent.

For those that like Spanish subtitled series... My ultimate fave is Velvet on Netflix.

Honestly love love loved it!

Loved cable girls too

Sagealicious · 24/12/2021 03:31

@userxx

Australian drama called love my way. Wish they'd made another series.
One of my most favourite shows of all time. Have watched every episode of all 3 seasons multiple times. That scene with Lou is beyond heartbreaking. It's on one of my streaming services so might give it a rewatch. Thanks for the reminder!
Bearsbearsbears40 · 24/12/2021 04:21

@FallonCarringtonWannabe

Nobody I know has watched Ted Lasso or the morning show. They are both brilliant. I also loved kevin can f himself and we are currently watching young Sheldon.
I’ve watched series one of The Morning Show, haven’t yet watched series two. I really enjoyed it.
Fatgalslim · 24/12/2021 08:40
@Fatgalslim massive Boston legal fans in this house. Love Denny and Alan's bond and Alan's closings.
Yay, I thought I was the only one, loved it from the start. Although the last series was a bit silly where Alan and Denny got married

userxx · 24/12/2021 09:01

@Sagealicious Ooooo, can you tell me which or is that not allowed. I don't think I got all of season 3.

llanfairfechan24 · 24/12/2021 09:04

De Lamas. Best improvisation I have ever seen. No-one else I know has watched it, but no surprise as I am rare in this country in being able to speak and understand some Dutch.

Horriblewoman · 24/12/2021 09:10

I loved bluestone 42, mainly for Oliver Chris.

I recently found someone who loved two guys, a girl and a pizza place as much as I did.

userxx · 24/12/2021 09:18

@Sagealicious It's on prime! That's me sorted for the Xmas break 👍

WillowintheUK · 24/12/2021 09:22

Rake (the Australian one) is brilliant! Never found anybody else who’s watched it in spite of me waxing lyrical over it.

Someone mentioned Justified - another that few people watch. Timothy Olyphant, nuff said!

Also very much enjoyed Bosch on Prime.

icebearforpresident · 24/12/2021 09:26

There’s loads of good stuff in Apple TV and no one I know has it! To be fair, I only have it because Apple gave me a free year when it launched but I kept it because it’s totally worth paying. Along with Ted Lasso & The Morning Show check out For All Mankind, it’s one of the most original shows in years (it imagines what could have been if the Russians got to the moon first) and I loved Schmigadoon.

Another shout out here for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (I still sing the songs now!), Kevin Can F**k Himself and Better Things. Better Things was created by Pamela Adlon and originally she worked in it with Louis C.K. After it all came out about him she totally took control and writes, directs and stars on it herself and the show, which was good anyway, is so much better for it. The girls who play her daughters are brilliant and Celia Imrie plays her mum!

Borgonzola · 24/12/2021 09:30

Britannia on Sky!

icebearforpresident · 24/12/2021 09:31

I forgot, You’re The Worst! It was only shown here on 5* at about 2am, I happened to see an advert for it and started recording it. It’s about this destructive, pretty toxic couple called Jimmy & Gretchen, and could have been one note but in season 2 started exploring Gretchen’s depression and Jimmys issues with his family and ended up being really complex along with hysterically funny. There’s 5 seasons but only the first 2 were shown over here, I’m desperate to see how it ends and probably never will.

Mimilamore · 24/12/2021 09:52

Another one for Shtisel, absolutely brilliant....

FallonCarringtonWannabe · 24/12/2021 10:22

It would be super helpful of someone with some time, condensed this thread into a easy to read list Grin

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 24/12/2021 10:46

@rifling I’m DESPERATE for everyone to watch Shtisel. It’s soooooo good. I think I’ve actually put my parents off - and I know they’d love it - by banging on about its greatness too much.
