Ever watched a new show you love and no-one else has seen it?

I just started watching This Is Us this week and I’m completely hooked but no-one else I know has seen it or wants to see it. It’s rubbish when this happens and you want someone else to get excited about it with you. It was the same when I watched Fleabag and The End of the Fucking World. Ever had this happen to you?

What we do in the shadows is awesome (Matt Berry is my reflect man). Nobody I know watches it or has really even heard of it but it's all on iplayer right now.

Alma's Not Normal on iPlayer. Bloody brilliant and hillarious.

Money Heist on Netflix. Spanish with subtitles and/or dubbed.

This is us is absolute drivel but I’m compelled to watch it… waiting for final series now.

Ted Lasso. When I tell people the premise they switch off. As did I until lockdown desperation kicked in. It’s amazing and not at all what I expected it to be.

Also Acapulco on apple+ no one I know has watched it

TheAnswerIsDontThinkAboutIt · 23/12/2021 21:17

@Justcashnosweets

The Boys. I've yet to meet another person who has actually watched it, never mind liked it. Its such a brilliant show aswell!
I liked it! But stalled halfway through the last season, I think cos Stormfront was getting on my nerves.
justaddcandlelight · 23/12/2021 21:18

@rifling

Shtisel! Hands down the best thing I've watched in years but couldn't convince many people to try it.
I loved it too! I also couldn't convince anyone I know to watch it either. The main character was dishy too 🥰
GreenWhiteViolet · 23/12/2021 21:19

I enjoyed Elite and What We Do in the Shadows.

My favourite show that nobody seems to have heard of is also from Spain. It's called The Ministry of Time / El Ministerio del Tiempo. Time travel throughout Spanish history!

@CurbsideProphet

I love This Is Us 🙂 For me it's Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. I don't know anyone who watches it. Not surprising really as ch4 moved it to 1am to make room in the schedule for Naked Attraction and Made In Chelsea...
I bloody love Zoeys extraordinary playlist

The episode where all the songs got mixed up absolutely broke me when she realised who the super sad heart song belonged to.

WakeUpLockie · 23/12/2021 21:24

Bonus Family on Netflix 😍 no one else gives a crap so maybe I have rubbish taste haha.

Stormyinacoffeemug · 23/12/2021 21:24

Lie to me - was on Netflix a few years ago. Its about people who can tell if a person is lying using microexpressions on your face.
Deald like me - a moody girl who dies and comes back to life as a reaper helping people into the afterlife.
Game of thrones when I watched it LAST YEAR and everyone had already seen it Xmas Confused

userxx · 23/12/2021 21:26

@Larryyourwaiter

Southland and The Servant

I have also loved The Boys and Nurse Jackie.

Southland was bloody fantastic.

CathyorClaire · 23/12/2021 21:27

I watched Siberia on Pick every Sunday night for a few weeks.

Was ace (think murderous Big Brother on ice) but I think I might have been in an audience of one.

The Path on Amazon Prime is excellent but it was cancelled after three seasons with so many threads left hanging Angry Angry

Noonoo8589 · 23/12/2021 21:27

No one I knew had seen fleabag either op.
I like “The Cockfields” on gold but I don’t know anyone who’s seen that either.

Mejillones · 23/12/2021 21:28

Recently watched Hightown series 1 & 2 shown on Starz.
Moonshine on CBC.
Also South African series Reyka.
Acapulco is on my to watch list.

notawittyname1954 · 23/12/2021 21:29

It's a sin. no one I knew watched it. thank goodness I started a thread on here to talk about it. Was absolutely one of the best things I've seen in a long time

CathyorClaire · 23/12/2021 21:30

I also resisted Dh's blandishments to watch The Americans for way too long.

If you can get over the entirely ridiculous premise it's utterly compelling.

MissSteak · 23/12/2021 21:31

This is Jinsy.

I’d live there if I could.

Thewayshetalks · 23/12/2021 21:32

@NutellaEllaElla

No one's ever seen Blue Stone 42 and it was great
I love this show! So underrated
gaggiagirl · 23/12/2021 21:33

Kevin can F**K himself on Amazon prime. Best telly EVER and I don't know anyone who watched it.
Please watch it...and report back

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 23/12/2021 21:35

Rescue mediums. It was on my netflix for a while but no one else has ever seen or heard of it.

I watched it! Definitely different. Think there's going to be a season 2.
McDuffy · 23/12/2021 21:37

Another vote for what we do in the shadows. I don't really watch tv Blush just got my evenings back after youngest dropped her nap and so goes to bed at 7. My husband was watching series 3 and I ended up putting my phone down to watch it properly as it's so clever. He was so surprised that he watched it from the start with me again, as it's such a rare occurrence for me to be engrossed!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 23/12/2021 21:37

QuestionableMouse, finally someone else who likes it. I'm really missing Chrisjen's wardrobe from the first 3 series, she had amazing clothes. I suppose they don't lend themselves to living on a space station though, it would be tough to put a space suit on in an emergency while wearing a voluminous shot-silk sari. Grin

Sadik · 23/12/2021 21:42

The teen Dr Who spinoff Class - DD & I loved it, & thought it would be Torchwood popular, but no-one watched it. Mind you, it was buried in the schedules, even big Dr who fans I know hadn't heard of it. Sadly but unsurprisingly it didn't get another season

Bearsbearsbears40 · 23/12/2021 21:46

Not super recent but I loved Rizzoli and Isles and no one else seems to have ever watched it.
