For me, it has to be Robbie Williams.. I feel irate when I hear him on the radio. I will never ever like his voice.

oh god, Cilla singing Surprise Surprise every week to close the show... it was bloody awful. I can remember doing impressions of her in the playground with my fellow 6 year olds and saying "No, you need to sound more donkey" to a friend who wasn't quite nailing it.

"More donkey" Grin

Their particular choice of her to sing in the show brings to mind that episode of Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em:

Frank: "Your mother has never liked me, has she?"
Betty: "No, Frank, she does like you - I just think she was wanting me to marry somebody else."
Frank: "Really? Who?"
Betty: "Well.... nobody in particular."

Camilla Cabello. Her voice on this song gets on every nerve in my entire body.

PurpleIndigoViolet · 21/12/2021 11:13

Any of the women who do that faux vaguely Irish warbling thing. The type often used in Christmas adverts, massacring a song that was originally decent.

Crowdfundingforcake · 21/12/2021 11:16

Sam Smith. Anyone who warbles.

whywouldntyou · 21/12/2021 11:23

James blunt

Tittyfilarious81 · 21/12/2021 11:38

DroopyClematis · 21/12/2021 11:40

@WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll I agree with you re Cilla Black ( fingers down a blackboard .)

And Yes, Jim Steinman .. I'm with you on that one.

husbandcallsmepickle · 21/12/2021 11:43

Another vote for Ellie Goulding

SpindleWhirling · 21/12/2021 11:45

I have to say that I've never been a fan of Sir Cliff's voice, although he did make some nice pop records.

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 21/12/2021 11:47

Sporty Slice, sorry Mel C😬

RonniePickering · 21/12/2021 11:49

Robbie Williams
Adele
Liam Gallagher

Any singer that sings in the babyish, breathy "bananis and avocadis" voice (google the phrase and you'll never unhear it)

And this ☝️

Shallwegoforawalk · 21/12/2021 11:49

Agree Bob Dylan is truly awful and should have stuck to writing.

Liam Gallagher - so nasal and whiney/shouty it can't even be called singing.

Whoever said Sharlene Spiteri (Texas) are you mad? She's a goddess, her voice live is incredible and THAT video with Alan Rickman

dubyalass · 21/12/2021 11:50

Sporty Slice Grin

Also "wheeyyyyey don't yewww bee the arteeeest and meek meee out of cleeyy" Grin

Probably unpopular but Nina Simone for me. I love her music but her voice - no.

The worst I've seen live was Ian Brown from the Stone Roses at Reading Festival many years ago. Torture, so off-key and nasal. An endurance test.

RobertSmithsLipstick · 21/12/2021 11:51

Mariah Carey.

Shallwegoforawalk · 21/12/2021 11:52

Oh god yes and Rod Stewart. Not just now, but back in the day too. Hideous.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 21/12/2021 11:53

Adele
Sam Smith
Paloma Faith

I do quite like Ed Sheeran though.....

RonniePickering · 21/12/2021 11:55

Definitely this ❤️

Corbally · 21/12/2021 11:58

Katherine Jenkins. Her transitions between chest and head voice sound like me changing gears in an early driving lesson (and yes, I was a terrible learner and switched to automatic...)

Innocenta · 21/12/2021 11:59

Adam Lambert trying to substitute for Freddie Mercury is the absolute worst.

(@redpickle you seriously don't like Freddie's voice? What don't you like about it?)

TorySteller · 21/12/2021 12:00

Adele.

Ed Sheeran.
