For me, it has to be Robbie Williams.. I feel irate when I hear him on the radio. I will never ever like his voice.

Can’t believe no-one’s mentioned the Kings of Leon bloke. Sex on Fire and Use Somebody - god his voice on those is just absolutely painful, so so strained it sounds comical. Just makes me want to leave the room the instant he starts.

Agree with Kylie, Heather Small, Jess Glynn and Ronan the pub singer.

Ooh I love kings of Leon. To me that’s a quirky voice but one that works with that kind of music, and I do think he can sing. Florence out of the machine, however, to me sound really strained and untrained, and listening to her almost makes me feel my own vocal cords hurting.

I’ve never understood why rock singers are sometimes really high-pitched, like AC/DC bloke. With the bee gees I don’t mind as it seems to go with disco better. And with Freddie it was part of his amazing range.
This thread is making me think about singing and it’s actually quite a weird thing when it comes down to it.

@MrsMadderRose yeah, it's incredible how high Freddie could go when his most natural voice was actually baritone! I personally think if he'd lived, he would have continued to explore different genres of music, as he'd always been interested in that and was doing so in some of his late work.

I still feel sad about FM’s death and feel that it just shouldn’t have happened :( I don’t know why, it’s not that I was his biggest ever fan, but he was so fabulously creative and powerful.

Sam Smith.

I know this is an old post but Amy Winehouse.
Her voice irritates me. But it’s mostly that a lot of girls looked/look up to her and she is almost idolised because she passed away. But the drugs thing and that she died because of them makes me really uncomfortable that young girls look up to her because of her music 😔

A fucking dele (Adele) nails down a black board, I actually turn the station off if she comes on.

LittleNightin · 10/02/2022 05:36

Becky Hill, she sounds very nasally

Ed Sheeran, I like his song Perfect and even used it for a smartshow 3d video for our anniversary with DP but most of his songs are dull and sound pretty annoying.
And another vote for Sam Smith.
