Celebs who are attractive in one role but not others

Watched the Princess Bride with Cary Elwes for the first time today - HOLY SMOKES!!! He is gorgeous in it! I’ve never ever once found him the least bit attractive in anything else he’s been in but crikey I almost swooned when he came on screen with his floppy blonde hair and Zorro outfit 🤤

Who else is only ever attractive in one role?

Henry Cavill in Witcher, not in nothing else. Is it the yellow eyes do you think?

Sam Heughan in Outlander, no Scots accent in everything else I've seen him in, not nearly as nice.

LetHimHaveIt · 20/12/2021 21:35

Christian Slater in 'Heathers'.

x2boys · 20/12/2021 21:35

I loved Ewan McGregor in train spotting ,yes I know heroin chic ,but he never looked as good in subsequent films imo

Campervan69 · 20/12/2021 21:37

I think men who are normally dark haired are hotter with bleached blonde hair. I even quite like Simon Pegg with his blonde hair in Spaced, and John Sim as the Master in Doctor Who.

JackieQueen · 20/12/2021 21:37

Philip Glenister as Gene Hunt. Not quite so sexy as Mr Gunn the PE teacher in Big School!

Elvis. You can rest your case!

Ryan Gosling in Crazy, Stupid Love. Never liked him in anything else I’ve seen him in but he does something to me in that film.

ppeony · 20/12/2021 21:43

Matthew Macfadyen in Pride and Prejudice Blush

kizzywizz · 20/12/2021 21:45

Larry Lamb was playing two roles on tv at the same time, Mick in Gavin and Stacey and a pub landlord Archie in Eastenders, I loved Mick but couldn't abide Archie.

Asi1 · 20/12/2021 21:47

Jersey Ackles as Dean Winchester Supernatural

TashieWoo · 20/12/2021 21:47

Tom Hardy as Ronnie Kray in Legend… I know one isn’t supposed to find violent criminals attractive but he’s certainly charismatic and looks good in a suit. TH isn’t usually my type at all.

Asi1 · 20/12/2021 21:47

Haha

@MrsTimRiggins

Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby.
100% agree with this one!
suckingonyulelogs · 20/12/2021 21:51

LlamaParma · 20/12/2021 21:55

Can I add Ewan McGregor in Moulin Rouge?

SkylarFerris · 20/12/2021 21:58

Yes to Spike in Buffy
Yes to Captain Jack
Yes to Leonardo de caprio at king louis in man in the iron mask

OverByYer · 20/12/2021 22:00

Kiefer Sutherland in the Lost Boys

MissAmbrosia · 20/12/2021 22:00

@LavenderAskew

Henry Cavill in the Tudors. Never hit the mark for me ever again.
Oh yes! Need to rewatch this. It's total twaddle but who cares.
Claymorekick · 20/12/2021 22:01

Don't know if anyone has said Aragon from Lord of the Rings yet? So hot but the actor himself and in other roles, not so much Grin

@LlamaParma not sure if you have watched Last Train to Christmas - Cary Elwes is definitely not hot in that Confused

NeverDropYourMooncup · 20/12/2021 22:02

Chris Hemsworth as Thor.

Seen him clean shaven and not bulked up/not with costume or CGI. He looks skinny and pointy nosed. Such a disappointment.

Twiceover · 20/12/2021 22:03

Colin Firth as Mr Darcy.

BonnesVacances · 20/12/2021 22:03

Matt Damon as Jason Bourne is very attractive but not in any other role.

crj123 · 20/12/2021 22:04

John Malkovich in Dangerous Liaisons. Hubbahubba
Tho I do worry what that says about me

Candleabra · 20/12/2021 22:07

Colin Firth as Mr Darcy
Then just afterwards was Colin Firth in Fever pitch. What a disappointment
