I read that Priti Patel is going to put her name forward Shock the horror. Also Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak are contenders.

Don't forget the possibility of Slimy Gove.

SnailandtheWail · 12/12/2021 08:25

Priti Patel will not fly. No one will have that.

TheDrsDocMartens · 12/12/2021 08:26

Gove is putting himself about again now but think they’ve been setting up Sunak. I actually can’t think of anyone who would be good 🙄

I don't think Boris will resign.

In contention would be Sunak, Gove and Truss.

Let's hope not but I've read that she's quite popular among Tory grassroots. As is Liz Truss. Neither of which I can understand.

Sunak possibly the least worst.

I think lizard truss could possibly be even more incompetent that Boris and that's saying something. Patel is evil.

My money on rishi and gove. Once we have gove we have a chance that people will elect Labour next time. Everyone hates him.

normanthegonk · 12/12/2021 08:27

How I wish they would have elected rory stewart as leader

CatrinVennastin · 12/12/2021 08:27

Gove backed by Rupert Murdoch.

Murdoch has a weird crush on that little woodland changling.

NinaProudman2022 · 12/12/2021 08:28

Peppa Pig

ZenNudist · 12/12/2021 08:28

Lizard truss was an autocorrect. Funny!

Yes I think they’ll have to carry him out while he hangs off the door frame.
EnidFrighten · 12/12/2021 08:28

I'm hoping for Tom Tugendhat, he's a bit less evil

Mind you, wasn't David Cameron practically unknown when he entered the race way back when?

SnailandtheWail · 12/12/2021 08:28

We almost need them to choose someone awful though, to have more scope fit toppling the tories at the next election. So a short term horror for longer term gain.

Oh gawd, I think out of those I'd go for Gove (swallows sick)
EnjoyingTheSilence · 12/12/2021 08:29

I agree. Rory Stewart was the only decent one. Sooner we get rid of the whole cabinet the better

Neolara · 12/12/2021 08:29

Apparently Gove is pro being more cautious with covid. As lots of conservatives are very anti any kind of restrictions, I'm not sure how much support he would get.

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2021 08:29

Someone who will give those who want fewer restrictions that

Poetrypatty · 12/12/2021 08:30

Sajid Javid?

billysboy · 12/12/2021 08:30

no chance of him resigning , if he were ousted it would be chaos

Dont forget Jeremey Hunt

Poetrypatty · 12/12/2021 08:31

Yes. I think Sunak is perhaps the most electable I can't see people going for Truss. If it's Patel I'd be worried that elections would get cancelled and we'd have a dictatorship.

OP posts:
WeAreTheHeroes · 12/12/2021 08:33

Boris won't resign. That man has a brass neck.

Poetrypatty · 12/12/2021 08:33

Sajid Javid would be better than what we've got now. As pp said, Murdoch seems to love Gove. And Dominic Cummings would be back with Gove wouldn't he?

OP posts:
thecatfromjapan · 12/12/2021 08:36

I can't see him resigning.

And nothing is going to happen soon.

And not Gove. Gove is all over the place at the moment. I think if he even thought about running, there'd be stuff all over the tabloids.

Johnson is losing support because the electorate have tired of the incompetence, crass lack of respect and thoroughgoing immorality.

Can't see the Conservatives seeing that draining of support, for those reasons, and therefore deciding to replace Johnson with Gove.
