FWIW in the days when I could be bothered to engage with some of the supposed “free thinkers” with regard to the Moon Landings I almost always came away staggered at the level of laziness on display.
For example you’d hear all sorts of cobblers talked about thrust and rocket blast that could rationalized with an O and A level understanding of Physics but you were usually met with:
“I don’t need to know that”.
The quality of photos or films, exposure, etc that came back can easily be understood by anybody who had used emulsion based films …
”I don’t need to look to understand that”
There’s also the issue of 100,000 plus plus people who either worked on Apollo or are still working with the artifacts (samples, laser reflectors):
“they are all lying”.
Reason we didn’t go back to the Moon after 1972 is politics, national priorities, money and to some extent an increase in risk aversion.
