The Strawman Theory aka Sovereign Citizens Movement
This is just batshit crazy.
Broadly it goes that at birth every natural person has two identities - their 'flesh and blood' identity and their legal identity which is expressed precisely on our birth certificates. The movement started out in Canada but has since spread to the US and the UK. At birth our respective governments deposit large sums in a secret bank account with our name on it. The money is ours and the state leverages it to go about its day to day function.
But if we are successfully able to claim our account, by getting our governments to separate our flesh and legal identities, it can be used instead to buy our houses, pay all our bills including our taxes. We can also split our two personalities so that we do not need to attend courts of law. Essentially our account containing potentially millions is a trust account that we can draw on if we know how to claim it correctly. Claiming is a 'secret process'. From Wikipedia;
The theory holds that an individual has two personas. One of them is a physical, tangible human being, and the other is the legal person, often referred to as a legal fiction. When a baby is born in the U.S., a birth certificate is issued, and the parents apply for a Social Security Number. Sovereigns say the government uses that birth certificate to set up a secret US Treasury account which it funds with an amount ranging from $600,000 to $20 million, depending on the particular sovereign belief system. Hence, every newborn's rights are split between those held by the flesh-and-blood baby and the corporate shell account.[1]
The promoters of this scheme cite wording in the Magna Carta and 2,000 year old Roman Law as evidence that our 'flesh and blood' personal trust accounts have always existed. It is how many countries function. Governments wish to keep this knowledge secret or they will lose funding and power if we claim our accounts. For this reason only a handful of 'gurus' know how to unlock the millions of ££ that are held for each of us. Of course they charge a fee for doing it.
I know of a couple who have spent about £45,000 with a guru who has advised them they have about £3m each in a UK government account, but it will take time to release it because higher powers in government need to approve the release of funds. They were told Brexit caused part of the delay.
The Movement also says English & Wales law is not the only laws we have to follow in the UK. There is a citizens law, a natural law that will always find in your favour so long as you genuinely believe in your case. Apparently, our judges will set aside our existing laws and apply this citizens law always in our favour if we can convince them we have rumbled how the strawman theory works.
