I love the crazy conspiracy theories. So my favourite ones are that birds arent real and that Paul McCartney is dead and the man we see now is a lookalike.
What about you?

v) that the world started in 4004BC and that dinosaur fossils are put there by God to "test our faith"

The bit about the fossils is standard creationist belief, though they do think the Earth is 6,000 years old.

Jacaranda75 · 09/12/2021 11:53

@fakereview regarding Andrew Wakefield, I was obliquely involved in some litigation with the two main witnesses in this case. I very much believe he WAS the victim of a conspiracy.

However, I must add that I DO NOT believe that MMR causes autism.

Jacaranda75 · 09/12/2021 11:54

Does anybody remember the one regarding Elisa Lam? Something about TB testing and Lam Elisa being the test name, but also something about the GPR coordinates of a library...? I don't necessarily believe it, just find it interesting.

ts a toss up as to where Diana is now, although I have seen Uruguay suggested.

This fits, as I have always thought it strange that although Uruguay is apparently a very beautiful country and according to Wikipedia the most prosperous, safe and stable in South America, I have never heard of guided tours or any tourism to that country, all emphasis seems to be put on Argentina / Brazil or Chile/Peru as places to visit.

Uruguay is indeed a beautiful place and one I have also been too. In fact many people taking a holiday in Buenos Aires take a ferry for a day trip.

Although I do sort of like the idea of Diana making pies in Frey Bentos (joking they stopped production there years ago).

@WarOnWoman
Has it ever been confirmed that’s not how the Death Eaters took the MoM in Deathly Hallows? Just because JKR doesn’t explicitly mention the oral hygiene side, it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Sounds right up Greyback’s street, too Hmm

@ItsMeantToBe
Um, being stabbed with a big old spear in a vital organ or several causing massive arterial spray is not, traditionally, something one just lingers on from. The people He was crucified alongside had their legs broken to end their excruciating Slow Death By Suffocation - if The Soldier Known As Longinus hadn’t gone all spear-happy, it would’ve been a leg-snappy outcome for Big J too. Assuming you’re working on “ta-da! and THIS is how it looked like a miracle” you’re a bit sunk because the wound wouldn’t have been survivable; & had His legs been broken it would’ve taken a miracle to get him up & walking by the Monday (& TBH that might’ve proven fatal even within said time-frame).

Just seen one on another thread where they reckon Boris Johnson has forced Carrie to have her baby today by elective c section in order to cover up the Christmas party scandal…

@coodawoodashooda

Not sure if this counts and haven't had time to read the whole thread yet but im sure the SNP is intentionally sabotaging education in Scotland so that everyone needs to rely on benefits and then vote for independence.
In similar vein, some people believe that the Tories deliberately don't spend enough on education, because they rely on ignorance to keep them in power.
CherryRipe1 · 09/12/2021 14:07

My conspiracy theorist freind said the Covid vaccine is a cull of humans. I asked her why am I still alive then? She replied that I got the placebo so I said what's the point, surely "They" want to bump an old codgers like me off first? Silent scowl was the reply.
Barack Obama is gay, he is a construct/fake & of course Michelle is a man.
Princess Di, Sophie & Jill Dando are all the same person digitally manipulated & deep fakes.

@Hazey19

‘That the DofE gave instructions to MI6 to bump Diana Spencer off. And I’ve met ppl who actually believe it. That and governments are using the covid vaccination to inject v small tracking devices into the population’

‘When I read this post I wondered what Diana had done to anger the Department of Education... ‘

Laughing my head off as I totally thought this too 😂

So did I!

If they could talk I doubt they'd have much of an opinion on whether prayers were said when they were slaughtered.

As an aside Jim Morrison would have been 78 today
I wonder if he'd still be known as Leatherkecks...

@SnottyLottie that one HAS to be true

ProfessionalWeirdo · 09/12/2021 14:51

Having just caught up with the thread and seen a couple of comments about Shakespeare, I'm reminded that some scholars believe that he spent all or part of his so-called "lost years" (between leaving Stratford-on-Avon and arriving in London seven years later) in Italy. It would certainly explain why he seemed to know so much about the place...

godmum56 · 09/12/2021 14:52

@MumUndone

I don't believe the moon landing happened. I think the technology was far too basic back then. I'm genuinely convinced of this.
can I ask your age?

Flixborough was more than real!!! I was there for 2 days with RCBFB's Foam Tender!

iguanadonna · 09/12/2021 14:59

That Lady Di was murdered.

Also Robin Cook.

Actually I think I still kinda believe those.

Soggymarshmellows · 09/12/2021 15:07

Sorry come on... he doesn't actually need to have a baby born to announce it. Could have been born last week or never or whatevs. The last baby hasn't really been seen much and the photo shoots were dubious. Not saying there's no bab, just that the PR is..well PR. Why are people so ready to believe exactly what they're told? (I'm no sheeple/new world order type either.).. it is all a PR machine. Surely we've learnt that now?
I honestly couldn't care less if they had a baby or not. Good luck to them (the kids that is).

Finland. Because Finland does exist, just not on earth

So I have fallen off the edge (or flown over it) as I've been to Finland a few times.

@me109f

I haven't worked out what quite happened with the 9/11 attacks but in my view they were dreamt up by the US goverment. You are quite right about that daft idea that a Boeing 757 went into the Pentagon. Amazingly, into the segment which was empty due to refurbishment! Building 7 collapsing due to 'fire' (after it was announced that it had collapsed) was also bollocks (it was empty and had been used by the FBI and due for demolition), as were the images of the airliners which went into the Twin Towers which did not even have the right airline livery. I could go on and on, but notably much of the evidence has been removed from U-tube, and what remains has been edited down and the images 'blurred up' as the US goverment continues to hope that everyone accepts the official explanation and time passes. A reason for it all is an attempt to disguise the unexplained disappearance of 3.2 TRILLION USD that the press were asking Rumsfelt and Cheney about days prior to the event, and an opportunity to access oil reserves in the Middle East (Iraq, who had no involvement in the event), and as a cherry in the conspiracy the Twin Towers building risks and insurances were signed over to European insurers (principally the City of London) days prior to the 'attacks'. So WE ended up paying for much of the destruction. Unfortunately our PM at the time was a stupid sucker and accepted it all, and embarassingly aligned us with all this nonsense. He has since made millions in the US for his lecturing and consulting expertise, plus a million dollar salary from a US bank. (He is now worth $60 million.)
You've really drunk the koolaid, haven't you?

I'm a New Yorker. I saw the second plane hit, watched the towers come down and then smelled the smoke and burnt flesh for weeks. All of the shite you mention has been exhaustively debunked.

@MissConductUS

Given what you witnessed I think you’re reponse is remarkably polite..

I ended up at a wake for one of the 9/11 flight crew Sad and I’m not sure I could have managed that.

Querying the Moon-landings is one thing but some of the events under discussion were tragedies that effected hundreds if not thousands of people.
