What is your favourite conspiracy theory?

I love the crazy conspiracy theories. So my favourite ones are that birds arent real and that Paul McCartney is dead and the man we see now is a lookalike.

Seriously, this is a thread for the worst conspiracy theories not ones we believe in! Of course I don't believe this rubbish. Do you really think others believe the rubbish they are posting.

I saw this one the other day and thought it was a joke but then I looked at what else they were posting and it seems they really do live in an alternate universe - it must be quite scary to believe this shit.

No Boltzmann is not a conspiracy theory per se, but I just mentioned it because it kind of goes with the simulation theory which had been mentioned...and I find it really interesting.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned (huuuge thread). My favourite conspiracy theory is blue paper towel. Primary schools all over the UK use it to heal a myriad of complaints, from headaches to paper cuts and terrible falls. There’s nothing much a blue paper towel can’t cure (wetting the towel increases its potency). Why aren’t we using more blue paper towel in wider society? The NHS could be saved!
The NHS does use it....MASSES of it

I have a Facebook friend who spouts loads of crap on there. Recently it's been that the covid vaccine contains poison that will kill anyone who has it (originally by October but he seems to have pushed the dates back now. Presumably because we're not all dead) why? To control the population, the earth is over populated. Ok, that is (very slightly) plausible but if that were true the powers that be would be left with a population of idiots knowledgeable truth seekers and killing all the sensible people sheeple who blindly follow rules. Which would seem like an odd choice.

Actually a much more likely conspiracy would be that covid is a red herring and the vaccine is to protect us from a new super virus that the governments will release and will kill the unvaxxed. Leaving a nice compliant population. He wouldn't like that theory tho, it'd mean he had to get the 'jabjab'.

I might start spreading it, could increase vaccine uptake Grin

I know someone who genuinely believes the photos of Boris getting jabbed were fake and it was some harmless substance.

I've an anti vax acquaintance who posts loads of stuff. But it's all wrapped up in her Christian beliefs which kinds of negates it all for me.

I don't like the Finland one, though I know it's meant to be lighthearted.

My grandfather and great-grandfather both died fighting for Finland, I don't like people gaily stating it doesn't exist.

My absolute favourite is that Jim Morrison didn't die but had a bit of Botox and is Barry Manilow.
I mean, I love a bit of middle of the road drippy 1980s cheesy love songs, but to go from drug addled masturbating on stage filth to even being called Barry (Barry!!!) would be insane enough, let alone deciding to rebrand as Barry Manilow.

The scariest were the group of Mumsnetters who went Mach 3 over some weird theories to do with One Direction. Seriously deranged. They probably still have a thread hidden in plain sight somewhere. Worth an advanced search to see if their old jaw dropping lunacy is still around.

9/11- all fake / no planes/ etc
Princess Diana was murdered
Covid doesn’t exist
The queen is dead - in fact they’re all dead except Prince Andrew ( can’t remember why he’s not dead )
Taylor swift, rihanna , lady gaga Beyoncé and loads of others are all trans. - can’t imagine why that’s a problem even if it was true

Completely understand. I've got one CT friend, moving away from her a bit, and the fact she finds it all funny when she's asked about it, weirds me out even more.

I first saw people saying the Queen was dead during cop 26. I could believe that it might not be announced until after such an important event in Britain. But there would have been zero reasons to still keep it secret.

😖 poor Jim!!

I don’t believe it of course but it is odd how a post mortem wasn’t done (especially at 27) and how rushed the burial was. There’s rumours he died in a club and was put in the bath tub so no one found him in the club. His girlfriend took an overdose shortly after so no one will ever know I guess.
