I want to get my lovely mum who has spent most of the last 18 months alone some AMAZING chocolates for Christmas. I usually hotel chocolat but looking for the best of the best, what are your expert recommendations?!

I'm addicted to Venchi chocolates.

Look through this thread! Loads of recommendations :) www.mumsnet.com/Talk/Christmas/4409264-Need-an-amazing-box-of-chocolates

But in my opinion, Patchi are amazing 😍 and big. DH brings them back from work trips but think you can get them here.

Neuhaus, the best chocolates I have ever tasted.

catnidge · 06/12/2021 18:38

Kennedys are great

Hewasperfect · 06/12/2021 18:41

Rokoko cardamom white chocolate 😍

Booja Booja boxes of chocolate

If she likes old-fashioned fillings, then Guilbert's: guilbertschocolates.co.uk

I love them at Christmas, because they're the kinds of flavours you get in a Quality Street assortment, but not shite.

Helpimfalling · 06/12/2021 18:46

If I send you my address.

You can forward me some and I am more then happy to put myself out by being your guinea Pig.

It's a dirty job but someone's got to do it.

gwilt · 06/12/2021 18:47

Not so much for Christmas but perhaps as a luxury January treat.

Fiona Patissiere, a wonderful independent craftswoman :)

We've ordered from her a few times and never been disappointed.

Our latest box (same as in the link) arrived today:

Thanks all! I've never heard of any of these, that's why I love a recommendation! Will have a look now, may have to of course sample a few myself first, just to confirm...

Charbonell et Walker pink champagne truffles.
Not chocolate but Fudge kitchen is also amazing.

Eddielzzard · 06/12/2021 19:01

I'd recommend Lauden chocolates

UniBallEye · 06/12/2021 19:02

WHY did I open this thread Envy

ItsRainingTacos · 06/12/2021 19:03

Was coming to say Charbonnel et Walker but @GlumyGloomer beat me to it. The caramel truffles specifically.

fairislecable · 06/12/2021 19:04

I would second Lauden chocolates - I love the raspberry ones and DH the blackcurrant ones.

We have tried lots of other luxury chocolates but nothing compares to the Lauden ones.

Angliski · 06/12/2021 19:11

This.

Handmade. Truly phenomenal. Made in brighton but they deliver all over the place. Got some special kirsch cherry ones for a loved one who adores them. They are so fresh you have to eat them within a fortnight. This is not a problem btw.

I've tried lots over the years but my very faves are Charbonnel et Walker Pink Champagne truffles.

Clevs · 06/12/2021 19:19

Lauden Chocolate.

Clevs · 06/12/2021 19:21

This was also asked recently, have a read through this thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/Christmas/4409264-Need-an-amazing-box-of-chocolates

KenAdams · 06/12/2021 19:22

I've recommended this company so many times as they are local and absolutely amazing. They had a fire in their main shop recently and lost a lot of stock but their stuff is incredible - cocoa-amore.co.uk/

covilha · 06/12/2021 19:25

Following joyfully, thanks OP and contributors xxx

AlbaAlba · 06/12/2021 19:29

For commercially easily available chocs I would rate Booja Booja champagne truffles over Charbonnel & Walker or Prestat.
