Good morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my usual cuppa, in silence,in the kitchen. It won't last long though - dd2's alarm has just gone off!

We're off for a day of Christmas shopping at a local Christmas market, with my Guides. Everyone's really looking forward to it - it's been over 2 years since we went out (and I think it will be the only day out for a while!).

The house is clean, and tidy. Just the washer to put on in a minute and then washing to hang before we leave.

No tea to cook later on - we'll eat while we're out. But I will enjoy a glass of wine when we get home tonight!

What about everyone else? :)

I have a horse, today she moves livery yards.

Said horse is stubborn about getting on a horsebox. I imagine this will lead to some stress, frustration, swearing and despair. Just before I decide to gift her to the nearest passers by she will probably get on the box…

I would much rather be at a Christmas market, it sounds lovely.

I’m off to meet a friend for a walk soon. DH and DS will play Minecraft whilst I’m out.

DH’s old work partner in crime is coming for lunch. He’s lovely and we haven’t seen him for years, so that will be good.

Then we’re going to the pantomime! I probably enjoy it more than DS

Pizza Express for supper.

I’m off to Edinburgh today to meet with friends for shopping, food and drinks. DH and DC are home for the day. Home early evening, Strictly and wine the bed. Looking forward to it.

I'm taling DD to her gymnastics class shortly and DH will take DS to football training. I get the better deal of waiting in the supermarket cafe whilst DH has to stand in a freezing field.

This afternoon we're at a Christmas get together at friends' house.

I do love a Christmas Market. Hopefully you'll have an easy well behaved house Gumpsy.

Dh and I are taking ds to a semi local outlet and centre for breakfast with some friends and to look at their winter wonderland. Ds as it happens is more excited about seeing dhs best friend than the lights 🤣
Then decorating our tree when we get home.

DH and the kids are going to put up the Christmas tree, lights and decorations today, and I'm going to be holed up in the office/studio, working on my final uni art piece. I'm handing it in next week and then I can he free to get all festive! Until then though, I have a lot of work to do and a big essay to finish!

I’m going to teach a couple of fitness classes this morning while DH and DS do football training. DD is working all day.

This afternoon, I plan to have a bath and a nap before making a chilli for dinner. Then probably some admin and a bit of online Xmas shopping.

Coffee with a friend later then Waitrose for stuff for tomorrow's roast. Last day of doing nothing until January!

I’m drinking tea in the lounge, before I wake DDs up at 8am.

We’ll be dropping DD5 at ballet at 9am, going for a walk around the park opposite until she’s done.

Then going into the city as I’ve done click and collect in various shops and I’ve not had time during the week to go. There’s a Christmas market on, so we’ll grab a hot chocolate and walk around there after.

The afternoon will be spent finishing a presentation that’s due Monday whilst DDs watch a Christmas film.

I’ve got laundry to do too.

Currently enjoying my second coffee, about to hang the laundry out but that’s it for chores (apart from a good shop) today.

Off to an exercise class at 8.30. Then the food shop and then home. Back out to do some Christmas shopping later then going to batch cook (got a brutal 2 weeks coming up that’ll see me out of the house from 6.30am till 7.00pm).

Then Strictly with wine and doing the Christmas cards.

Cleaning the house this morning, but shouldn't take too long. Going to walk dogs and I have a few small bits to do/get in the shops nearby. Then DH is going to his dad's for the night. I might put up our tree later. Dogs and I will have lazy evening eating and watching TV.

Putting up the decorations, possibly making some millionaire’s shortbread later on. No p,and to go anywhere which is lucky as weather’s a bit crap.

We put the tree up yesterday, think it'll be films and DC playing on their tablets... only 7 days to go 😅

I'm at mums with the children this weekend while dh is at home doing DIY. We will go to an outlet to get shoes for ds1 and that's about it

A day Christmas shopping and just wandering round Cambridge with the new 'boyfriend' (think I can call him that) looking forward to doing something adult as the kids are with their dad.

I'm currently lying in bed pretending I'm asleep so I don't have to get out of the cosy warmth. I'm 24w pregnant and my giant pillow is so comfy... DS is still asleep, but he'll come charging in soon to get me up. (He is only 2, so this is very cute!).

Then this morning, I'm taking DS to football while DH sorts the house chores out. The rest of the day is Christmas and life admin / shopping - planning a festive day of tree decorating etc tomorrow so want to get the chores done today and it's our last free weekend before Christmas.

Homemade lasagne for dinner. Hoping DS will be tired and go to bed early enough that me and DH can fit in watching Red Notice before I fall asleep!

Currently lounging on the sofa in my oodie with a cuppa trying to motivate myself to get moving. DC on their screens so enjoying the peace.

Usual Saturday morning clear up, food shop being delivered and then DC have a birthday party this morning - DH lost the proverbial arm wrestle so he's taking them so I get a blissful 2.5 hours to myself - planning a bath and some Netflix!

Going to wrap some presents and make a start on a jigsaw this afternoon. It's called Festive Fireside

We are due to have friends over for dinner who we haven't seen for ages and love dearly but she messaged last night to say that following an emergency vets appt their very poorly cat is being PTS this morning so I doubt they'll make it Very sad for them and also very sad that we probably won't see them.

Dp and ds2 are going to dps football. I woke up to a massage from ds1 to wake him up at 11 so I guess he's going out. I did want to take him shopping for gloves (he's too fussy for me to pick them.
Me and baby dd will be left on our own as always on a Saturday so I'll finish putting up the tree (did most of it last night, just the baubles to go) on my own. Despite everyone's claims that they want to help, they never do! I'll walk the dog and go to the shop to get something for dinner. Might go for some lunch while I'm out.

I am still in bed! yay! rare event. the DCs are playing roblox. DH is about to go out with his cycling club. We are ordering in Chinese for dinner. Then watching The Spy Who Dumped Me which we taped.

We have cancelled plans to see friends this weekend as I have a lingering cough. Not covid but still not something I want to pass on!

So I’m hoping to get some chores done and clean the house ready for Christmas decorations. DH will take the DC to their swimming lessons.

@ToughTittyWhompus I will be batch cooking lamb tagine if that helps? Trying it with added aubergines to make the meat go further too.
