Good morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my usual cuppa, in silence,in the kitchen. It won't last long though - dd2's alarm has just gone off!

We're off for a day of Christmas shopping at a local Christmas market, with my Guides. Everyone's really looking forward to it - it's been over 2 years since we went out (and I think it will be the only day out for a while!).

The house is clean, and tidy. Just the washer to put on in a minute and then washing to hang before we leave.

No tea to cook later on - we'll eat while we're out. But I will enjoy a glass of wine when we get home tonight!

What about everyone else? :)

Tree up and all sparkly. Cat asleep on the wrapping paper. Pizza for tea. All good

Lovely day so far, haircut, 2 out of 3 trees up, then visit to the inlaws. Home now have just put a camembert in the oven for tea. Dh has some work to do this evening from home so I'm planning a pamper night, hot bath, wine then getting in bed early and choosing a Christmas's book to read i think!

Well, we're home and we're soggy after it rained all day!

But I think everyone's had an enjoyable day out!

I need a VERY LARGE wine now, in my favourite glass & a shower to help me defrost!

I've attached a pic of my favourite purchases of the day, and my favourite wine glass (it isn't reserved just for Christmas!)

I went out this morning and got myself a new pair of jeans (medium wash, ankle length, relaxed fit). Had lunch at an outdoor cafe. (I live in the Southern US; it's quite warm today.)

Getting ready to watch the University of Georgia (my team) play the University of Alabama for the Southeastern Conference Championship.

Not sure if there's a new one for today so commenting on yesterday's, love reading about everyone's days.

We have had a pottering about morning, 2 lots of uniform washed and tumble dried Just waiting on the last lot. I've drank copious amounts of tea, I'm on my period so feeling a bit sore and bloated, kids have done homework etc just a typical weekend morning.

We are having an early lunch soon think one of those potato rosti packs you just fry up. With a poached egg on top. Children will probably have egg on toast / beams on toast

Have popped a whole chicken in the slow cooker, we are off to a national trust place this afternoon to do the winter trail and see the house decorated for Christmas.

When we get back we will have the chicken with some of those part baked baguettes.

When children are asleep I'm having a hot bath a hair and face mask, a glass of merlot and an early night!

I was offered the job I interviewed for yesterday.
First paid work in four years.
So today I'm alternating between panicking about logistics with dc and drinking tea happily.

Dc are doing homework and DH is filing in endless paperwork for our green card applications.

Just had a bowl of porridge. Had a night at the neighbours last night, good laugh. Taking DD to a princess theatre event in a bit. DH taken DS for his vaccination and then to a party.

I have covid, it's my last day of isolation. I'm so excited because I've isolated in my bedroom away from dh and the kids and can see them tomorrow. I can go back to work tomorrow too as I'm feeling pretty ok now. 😁
So I'm washing my bedding while the rest of the family are out and having a bath and waiting impatiently for midnight.

The tree's finally up & we're going to put some more bits up later on too.

I have a job application I want to do but think I'll do that tomorrow, while the girls are at school and the house is quiet!

Walked dog, washing on, dishwasher emptied and then read a book for an hour quietly by myself with coffee as DH had a lie-in. We had a massive brunch at 10.30am, then kids did watercolour painting and I made a persimmon loaf cake while we listened to some music in the kitchen. About to take the kids swimming now, and then make fish chowder for dinner while watching more Star Trek TNG as our 90s family series (it's a family-friendly Black Mirror!)

Very laid back as we had a big party last night.
