So far, I’ve had 3 power cuts which is not good as I’m trying to do a load of washing, plus I have tropical fish that need the heat, and a spider who needs bright light

Currently very windy and wet outside. Also cold

You

We've lost a trellis, and most things on the balcony have shifted position! Not as bad as some, thang g-d.

Hope you can get your stuff sorted for the pets soon.

YorkieTheRabbit · 27/11/2021 15:14

Really windy over night, power went off at 4.45am and didn’t come back on until just after 2pm, and we’ve got snow ❄️

Soubriquet · 27/11/2021 15:15

Luckily we are diesel run for heating and the power cuts haven’t happened long enough for the water to get too cold. The light I have for Artemis (spider) holds enough charge in for about 30 mins so fingers crossed.

Oooo ouch. My pets would definitely suffer with that

I bet you’re cold!! But…snow!

Our poppy from the Tower of London display got smashed when the pot it was in got blown over. We’ve had it all these years and it’s completely smashed.

Tripledogdare · 27/11/2021 15:17

Lots of snow, much calmer today then it was yesterday, when it was over 100kph. Lost the old sky dish, and various garden bits yesterday.

Oh no! It can’t be replaced either can it?

Sorry

In in the SE and it's just blown our garden fence over!

JamieNotJames · 27/11/2021 15:22

NE coast here. Extremely windy last night, hardly slept at all.
Many mature trees fallen and blocking roads, chimney stacks blown off causing holes in roofs Shockand debris on the pavements.
For us personally though not much impact. No power cuts. Our ivy along the garden fence has been ripped off, the plastic sheeting covering the garden furniture is gone and the side gate latch has been pulled off so having to prop the gate shut with heavy rocks.

whatstobecomeofus · 27/11/2021 15:23

Some trees blocking roads where we are and ds couldn't get to church this morning. Snowing intermittently and it's still very windy.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 27/11/2021 15:23

I'm in West Midlands. We've had snow and quite strong winds but not too bad.

YorkieTheRabbit · 27/11/2021 15:24

Thankfully we’ve got a wood burner so the living room is lovely and warm
Rest of the house is cold, the Aga is going to take a few hours to warm back up

DrunkenKoala · 27/11/2021 15:28

We’ve hardly been affected, but we’re right in the south east corner so we didn’t have a weather warning.
We had sleet this morning and then rain on and off this afternoon. DS went to football training and said it was bitterly cold, his hands were red raw when he came in.
The wind has picked up this afternoon, a tree over the road from me still had about 1/3 of its leaves this morning, they’re all off now.
It’s wet, windy and dull/overcast now and it’s forecast for the rest of the day.

Breathmiller · 27/11/2021 15:29

We've had no power which means no heating since 9 last night. Might not be back on til tomorrow night at 10pm.

RightOnTheEdge · 27/11/2021 15:29

My fence has been smashed to bits and is now basically matchsticks.
We had to walk to swimming lessons and back in hailstones.
Enjoying being snuggled up on the sofa in the warm now though.

Watto1 · 27/11/2021 15:31

The wind kept us all awake overnight but easing off now. I work at a builders merchants and we sold many fence panels and fence posts this morning.

TheShadoutCrepes · 27/11/2021 15:32

Stuck in Edinburgh. No trains and possibly no trains tomorrow. Not a coach or hire car to be had!

blibblibs · 27/11/2021 15:38

I'm stuck in Scotland, train cancelled. Currently not able to get a refund, can't wait until Monday like lner want me to so have a 6 hour bus journey tomorrow instead.
I just want to go home Sad

Moaningturtle · 27/11/2021 15:40

Lost a fence, only moved in a week ago! Of course it was our boundary.

Soubriquet · 27/11/2021 15:41

Sorry for those who have no power/heat and stuck without going home. Makes me whinging pale in comparison

Oh no. Poor you. Where are you trying to get to?
n3wmum20 · 27/11/2021 15:49

Luckily we only had two fence panels that have been damaged.. however at 11 pm last night in the dark and rain I was holding our hot-tub by the wire, very much resembling a massive helium balloon, as my husband said 'Don't worry the hot tub won't go anywhere in the wind!'
Oh did he get an ear lashing when he finished his night shift this morning! 😂

Hellocatshome · 27/11/2021 15:51

No damage to our house, luckily we replaced our 100+ old roof last year. We played dodge the fallen trees and gable ends on the way to a swimming gala at 6am this morning only to get evacuated from the pool after a few races due to the pool roof starting to blow off! Unexpected duvet day.

A580Hojas · 27/11/2021 15:54

I'm in the softy South and it's pretty bad! So sorry for all of you without power etc. Just been out in the garden getting the canopy off the swing seat and heard an aeroplane going overhead so loud I was worried it was going to come down. Would hate to be landing a plane in this!
