What name did your DH come up with for your babies that you hated?

DH wanted to call our first DD Charlie.
Fucking Charlie!
SO many lovely girls' names and he comes up with that.
Sorry if your is called that...it's nice enough I suppose but it's just not something I'd choose for a girl.
DamnitFanny · 26/11/2021 09:45
DS1 wanted to call DS2 ‘Pain’. He was going to change his own name to ‘Chain’ so they could have a tag wrestling team called Chain and Pain! In fairness, he was only 4 😂. In turn, DD2 cried when we didn’t call DD1 ‘Pig -el- let’ - he was also 4 at that point.
arapunzel · 26/11/2021 09:45
DH wanted DD (3) to be called Anastasia.
Big no.
SequinnedShawl · 26/11/2021 09:50
SequinnedShawl
Ramona. Ross. Craven. Jeffrey. Kevin.
I said no
@TheOriginalEmu
CRAVEN??
Is a he a big fan of 90s newsround?
That was the only thing I thought of!!
LemonElephant · 26/11/2021 09:50
@TheOriginalEmu Even funnier when DS2 was born all wrinkly and had a genuine old man face, im high off gas and air and he looks me dead in the eyes and sais 'see, hes a maldwynn though and through'. I was crying with laughter
HarrietsChariot · 26/11/2021 09:51
Duane (or is it Dwayne?)
Leroy!
Mumofstanley · 26/11/2021 09:52
Reginald.
Over my dead body. Lucky we had a girl.
HingleMcCringleberry · 26/11/2021 09:52
That’s two Blake’s I’ve seen vetoed. Sad times - Blake is a great name!
roarfeckingroarr · 26/11/2021 09:53
DS' dad really likes virtue names, things like Hope, Charity... god knows why, he's certainly lacking those traits in himself
RosettaR · 26/11/2021 09:53
Ha, I hated all dh's names! I think they were Mark, Adam, Anthony, and Paul. We had twins so I wanted to choose one of his names for one of them but just couldn't, I negotiated his grandad's name instead which I like but he hadn't suggested.
Nc123 · 26/11/2021 09:53
Cressida and Melissa.
We have a spooky sounding surname which with Cressida would have sounded like a cartoon witch. And Melissa reminded me of school bullies.
Peanut82 · 26/11/2021 09:55
My DP wanted to call our daughter Kal El if she was a boy, fucking Kal El 😆😆
oldperson1 · 26/11/2021 09:56
Wanted a name that couldn’t really be shortened, which by the way didn’t work out name I picked people just added a Y to and lengthened it eg Jack becomes Jacky.
Bearing this in mind when we talked about names my husband came up with Todd 😳 apologies in advance to anyone called Todd.
On saying that I’m a Georgina who has only ever been known as Tina
Diditreallylookawful · 26/11/2021 09:56
Galadrielle
Lavender24 · 26/11/2021 09:58
My DH wanted Zephyr for a boy. I actually love this name but felt it was a bit too "out there" and wouldn't have wanted him to be picked on. We had a girl anyway.
twilightermummy · 26/11/2021 09:59
John and Stephen..like it’s still the 90s.
Tbf though I came up with Giuseppe about a week before giving birth 😂
Lucyinthesky07 · 26/11/2021 09:59
In 1999 (first baby) he came up with Wendy.
I'm assuming that he wasn't very clued up on what babies were being called at that time, so went through the girls he'd gone to school with 30 years previously!
Wisewordswouldhelp · 26/11/2021 09:59
Aethelred for a boy and Sally for a girl....
lottiegarbanzo · 26/11/2021 10:00
Wolf. It's always Wolf.
Ohfudgeme · 26/11/2021 10:03
Name's my husband wanted.
Girl- Elektra, lulu, Mercedes
Boy- Norton, kal-El, Thor, Aston
User310 · 26/11/2021 10:08
Dianne and Crystal 😒 .. born 14 years ago.
Livingthemagicyears · 26/11/2021 10:16
After reading these my dhs taste is lovely, if not just quite plain. His suggestions which I now actually love one and would use if we ever had another were, Lucy, Amy and Jack.
AuntMargo · 26/11/2021 10:17
@BiteySpears
He would protest that I wanted Arcadia for a girl.
Bruce is a dogs name, my dog lol
TommyShelby · 26/11/2021 10:19
Buddug… I was tearing my hair out. I couldn’t imagine a baby Buddug born in this century! 🙈
RubyTuesday70 · 26/11/2021 10:27
DH wanted to use his late mothers' name. Which I wasn't comfortable with full stop, but it was a very old fashioned name that hasn't come back round again like a lot of others .........
However, my nan had a very similar name and we stumbled across the welsh version of this quite by accident and loved it.... so our 1st DD was named after both of them in a roundabout way.
RaininSummer · 26/11/2021 10:29
Mary and Julia. Nothing wrong with these names but not what I had in mind for my late eighties and early 90s babies.
