What name did your DH come up with for your babies that you hated?

DH wanted to call our first DD Charlie.
Fucking Charlie!
SO many lovely girls' names and he comes up with that.
Sorry if your is called that...it's nice enough I suppose but it's just not something I'd choose for a girl.
BiteySpears · 26/11/2021 06:28
Bruce for a boy.
He would protest that I wanted Arcadia for a girl.
Margaritawithlime · 26/11/2021 06:29
Hepzebah! Fortunately he was a boy
BeingATwatItsABingThing · 26/11/2021 06:30
@smaragda
My DH comes from a family where they do the same with names. First boy has the grandfather’s name. DH is luckily the second boy so I was able to veto that suggestion without causing a family rift. He wanted his dad’s name for the middle name for our hypothetical boy but I wanted my grandad’s name. Neither of us liked the other name.
smaragda · 26/11/2021 06:30
@beingatwat I forgive you! 😂
LilyTheMink · 26/11/2021 06:31
@HerbivorousRex
The names are fine but I just associate them with people I went to school with (some I liked, others I’m sure are nice people now 😂).
Luckily we’re having a boy!
Mine too. He was very sold on Sarah, but there were about 11 of them in my class and 50% of them used to bully me!
Shehasadiamondinthesky · 26/11/2021 06:32
Wanting to call him after some random friend who he doesn't even see any more years later. I said no.
LilyTheMink · 26/11/2021 06:32
I was the crazy name lady - Plantagenet, Dearborn, Angel for a boy
Sable, Liberty, Scarlett for a girl
30not13 · 26/11/2021 06:34
Rita or Lorraine OK this was back in the 90s but still cmon!
BeingATwatItsABingThing · 26/11/2021 06:34
@LilyTheMink
Sable, Liberty, Scarlett for a girl
Liberty or Scarlett would have been ok - not to my taste but ok - but the rest are awful! Were these hormone induced name choices?
SpangoDweller · 26/11/2021 06:34
DH wanted the name of a character from Warhammer.
Luckily there are many characters in Warhammer and DS has a normal name which does have a tenuous link.
FallonCarringtonWannabe · 26/11/2021 06:36
Kyle
JennyForeigner · 26/11/2021 06:36
@mynameisnotmichaelcaine
Crikey. I don't think I could live with him after that. If you misbehaved, would he put you in a home run by nuns?
Popskipiekin · 26/11/2021 06:37
Blake. We have DS1 Logan, and DH wanted Blake’s Seven and Logan’s Run… vetoed. Sorry, DH.
Fernando072020 · 26/11/2021 06:37
DH suggested loads of "American" sounding names. Tyler, Jason, Kyle. Not a fan.
PearlAsylum · 26/11/2021 06:38
Edmund.
Classic name, yes, but I could only think of Blackadder and the horrible Narnia one.
evelynhugo · 26/11/2021 06:38
Caroline if we had a girl. It's fine if you're in your forties but not for my baby.
GeorgiaGirl52 · 26/11/2021 06:40
Sam for a boy
Samantha for a girl (nn Sam)
Nice enough names, BUT, no one in our family has that name! So he was not honoring or remembering anyone. Not even a friend or a pet!
Soubriquet · 26/11/2021 06:41
Dh really wanted to name dd Delilah and ds Nickolai.
We are English born and raised in England so Nickolai was definitely out and sorry but I really did not like Delilah.
LilyTheMink · 26/11/2021 06:43
@LilyTheMink
Sable, Liberty, Scarlett for a girl
No I still like some of those names!
But was made to be sensible by DH.
NumberTrain · 26/11/2021 06:44
@vanillaskies the baby has kept me up all night teething. I read 'luckily we went with volvo'! Violet much better
Olinguita · 26/11/2021 06:48
Dhrishtadyumna (a character in the Mahabharata)
Cherrydown · 26/11/2021 06:51
Brendon (2010)
Blueeyedgirl21 · 26/11/2021 06:58
@Cherrydown I work with kids born around 2004-2006 and we have tons of Brendans, Brandon’s, Brandins, Brandens
SendARavenToRiverRun · 26/11/2021 06:58
Bernadette, Vincent and Eamon. Born in the 2005-20012 era. No. Just No.
Romeiswheretheheartis · 26/11/2021 06:59
Vanessa. All I could think of was 'Feltz'!
