If you were ordering in pizzas for 11 children…

How many would you order?
They are 10 years old, I’m ordering large pizzas from Pizza Hut, I’m currently thinking of ordering 6 large pizzas, 4 margerita and 2 pepperoni… also 3 boxes of chicken strips and 2 boxes of wedges. There is nothing else (other than cake afterwards!).
Do you think that’s enough? Ds would usually eat maybe 3 slices and I think each large is 8 slices… (it’s maybe 10, I can’t remember!)

If anything I think 6 pizzas would be too much.

Please tell me that you’re using a discount code

TheChosenTwo · 07/11/2021 08:56

There are usually discounts on the website? I think so anyway.
Do you really think 6 is too many? Shock

Oh, maybe with the chicken strips and wedges on the side too. I’m not sure. Dh is being useless and just saying “go with what you think” Grin

6 is fine, any left will be an easy tea tomorrow Smile

Moonshine11 · 07/11/2021 08:58

6 is fine.

PotteringAlong · 07/11/2021 09:00

I would get 6.

JurgensCakeBaby · 07/11/2021 09:00

You need to know how many slices per pizza if it's ten that's 60 slices between 11, I wouldn't expect a ten year old to eat 5/6 slices of pizza plus chicken and wedges. If it's 8 you've still got 48 slices but better to have too much than too little and I'm sure there are others in your house who will eat some pizza if it's going spare

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 07/11/2021 09:00

Half a pizza each... 5.5 so six seems logical.

Left over pizza is nice the next day.
I'd mix up the toppings a bit more though.

Comedycook · 07/11/2021 09:01

More than enough think

Littlebelina · 07/11/2021 09:02

I ordered 2 large dominos (with garlic bread plus wedges) for 4 10 year olds. There were small amounts of leftovers (which dh and I finished). I wouldn't say 6 is excessive (better to have too much) but would think you'd get away with 5?

zafferana · 07/11/2021 09:02

A Pizza Hut large pizza serves 4 children according to Google. I'd expect a 10-year-old to eat 2 slices, so that sounds right as all Pizza Hut pizzas are 8 slices.

HollowTalk · 07/11/2021 09:02

I would hold some of the boxes back until they were needed.

Tricked2003 · 07/11/2021 09:02

My 14 and 16 year olds would struggle to eat half a large pizza with some sides and birthday cake after. That sounds like too much.

gogohm · 07/11/2021 09:05

Personally I would do one less pizza but one more wedges (though actually I would have bought wedges and chicken from Aldi and only order pizza (which doesn't taste the same from home ovens)

TheLastLonelyBakedBean · 07/11/2021 09:05

I would get 4 large pizzas, 3 x chicken, 2x XL wedges.

PieMistee · 07/11/2021 09:06

Mine can eat a pizza each but they are very tall and skinny and constantly hungry!

Hobnobswantshernameback · 07/11/2021 09:06

Cold pizza the next day is the food of the gods
But this is Mumsnet where people will claim that their little Tarquin would be stuffed after smelling the pizza and would prefer some hummus and carrot sticks

FelicityPike · 07/11/2021 09:07

1/2 pizza each with a few sides will be more than enough.

purplesequins · 07/11/2021 09:09

depends.

for my boys and friends that age I would have one dr oetker size pizza each + chrisps and dips and crudités and biscuits and sweets and not have any leftovers.

for dd half a pizza each and all the party stuff and we would have leftovers.

NoSquirrels · 07/11/2021 09:10

I find they always eat a bit less than you think, so I’d get 5.

I had 8 round recently and did 4 frozen box pizzas and that was too much, could’ve totally just done 3. Takeaway pizza is more filling too.

MissKeithsNeice · 07/11/2021 09:11

5 pizzas with more sides is perfect.

Get 3 x peperomi and 2 x margarita- I had almost exactly same dilemma a couple of weeks ago. I went for more margarita than peperomi and boys just wanted peperomi.

negomi90 · 07/11/2021 09:12

Get 6. Better to have leftovers (which are great I'm their own right) then hungry kids.
Actually get 7 so the next days snacks are covered.

Stompythedinosaur · 07/11/2021 09:12

I would get 6 pizzas. It would be rubbish not to have enough. My 10yo woukd eat more than 2 slices - 3/4 is more like it.

MrsFoxyplease · 07/11/2021 09:12

I'd order 6 large pizzas but the chicken strips and wedges won't go far.
If you're at home could you not stick a bag of french fries and a bag of chicken dippers in the oven instead as sides?
You could also buy dips at the supermarket.
Sorry if you're not at homeConfused

MLMshouldbeillegal · 07/11/2021 09:13

I would get 6 too. And if there is pizza left over, then it's easily reheated for lunch/dinner tomorrow.
