On the ‘Sunday’ programme at 7.30am

There’s talk of putting a Star after the word ‘God’, indicating a gender-free entity - to counter binary, heteronormative rhetoric and understanding.

@SmellyLikeABlew you are absolutely right. I was getting my symbols muddled.

As for das Gott, it just sounds wrong. So now I'm maybe falling down on the side of God*.

I have a client who uses the pronoun 'es' so 'it' really. It makes conversation about them really bloody irritating.

@Gncq

Ermm...

"Our Father who art in Heaven...." Is this wrong now? What is it?
"Our non-birthing parent who art in Heaven...."

Technically, it was always 'wrong'. It's 'Our Father, which art in Heaven'.

All the frothers might like to read centuries-old Christians describing God as our mother, and Jesus' wound as the womb from which we're reborn. Lots of medieval nuns caressing Jesus vaginas out there. I think that's rather more fun theology than a star myself, but hey, each to her own.
