What would you go for? Something classic? Something a bit more alternative? White? Ivory? Black?!
I’m not getting married, just thinking for some reason about wedding dresses Grin
Wondering about what I’d choose if I had to.
If you got married would you still pick the same dress?

@SirSamuelVimes

This was my dress. Still love it but it was of its time, I think.
It's strapless, and I like it!
actiongirl1978 · 06/11/2021 11:23

@TheChosenTwo it's in a dress bag in an airtight box in a cupboard and has been for the last 13 yrs!

BestIsWest · 06/11/2021 11:26

Mine was a big flouncy Diana-esque eighties number with huge lantern sleeves. It wasn’t what I was looking for at all but I was persuaded to try it on and fell in love.
I’d look ridiculous in it 35 years on so no, I’d go for something simpler.

I went for a cathedral veil and full wedding dress that was very flattering (at the time I had a size ten waist but rest of me was certainly not GrinBlush)

My favourite dress is Christine Lampard. I loved it! So much lace ans pairs elegance.

PurpleDaisies · 06/11/2021 11:30

I loved my dress and I’d probably go for something similar. I’d love to buy something from a bridal shop I keep walking past in London. Probably this dress with a plain skirt or a without the top.

Oh I love planning my imaginary second wedding!!

I'd have a city wedding with a tailored midi dress, Vivian Westwood I think!

Like this but longer...

Mine was tea-length strapless completely plain oyster satin. No lace or decoration except some pearl buttons down the back, and worn with high sandals. Of its time but I still think it's gorgeous and would choose it again if I could have the body to wear it now (size 6-8 then, sadly no longer!).

If choosing now in my fifties I would probably have something kimono style like this.

High-neck, long sleeved Victorian style in ivory.

Plantstrees · 06/11/2021 11:57

I would go for a cosy winter wedding with lots of fur something along the lines of the white witch!

Loving the winter witch wedding. I may have that for my Imaginary wedding or I may go all out and have a frozen theme wedding or frozen on ice wedding!

SickAndTiredAgain · 06/11/2021 12:05

I wore a dark green knee length dress.
If I had a white wedding, I’d be tempted by a jumpsuit.

The shape of the Cara Coquette one is very similar to mine @Mammyloveswine, it didn't have a corset and the fishtail-esque shape on the skirt was a little more pronounced without being a full fishtail. I did love it.

@Mammyloveswine

The bride that should say

meow1989 · 06/11/2021 12:15

I had a beautiful strapless white trumpet gathered organza dress when I got married in 2015 - it won't fit over my hips now!

Now adays I would probably go for a flowy but not puffy dress with sleeves and lace detail below the collarbones.

Joystir59 · 06/11/2021 12:15

Vera Wang.

jesusmaryjosephandtheweedonkey · 06/11/2021 12:20

Same again, it's was about 4k new but got it in the sample sale. Modern classic and a bit sexy. Tight lace body to below the hips and a Spanish style ruffle bottom. And it had a sweet heart neck but the lace went higher to creat a v neck. Lace had see in very subtle beads at caught the light at different angles. Could dye it and replace the bottom and turn it into a beautiful evening dress.

BurntTheFuckOut · 06/11/2021 13:10

Anything from Lucy Can’t Dance.

HeadNorth · 06/11/2021 13:14

My mum made my dress, empire line Jane Austen regency style. Still fits me nearly 30 years on and I wouldn’t change it. No plans to marry again, mind.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 06/11/2021 13:15

it'd be either red or very dark coral
and I'd wear white Doc Martens
