I just had cold potatoes straight from the can.

OP posts:
SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 03/11/2021 20:24

I had about 5-6 picked onions today...

gelatodipistacchio · 03/11/2021 20:25

I will never look at a nectarine the same way again Shock

Some of these lunches are reminding me what a food snob I am. The worst lunch I have had is probably sardine spread (homemade) on Finn Crisps. So smelly, definitely wouldn't eat at work.

Reading with intrigue

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 03/11/2021 20:28

This is why I don't trust fruit...

Heidipi · 03/11/2021 20:55

On the rare occasion that DP is out and I'm WFH I have Quorn nuggets microwaved rather than done in the oven, it makes them quite floppy, I add grated cheese and ketchup. I have considered gravy too but that feels a bit like anarchy.

NothingIsWrong · 03/11/2021 20:58

Can of rice pudding from the tin followed by Tunnocks caramel wafer or three

No wonder the lockdown stone is clinging on...

Justwhy123 · 03/11/2021 21:14

Super noodle sandwich today. Waama actually quite nice. So ashamed…Grin

Justwhy123 · 03/11/2021 21:14

That should say “was” actually quite nice

Anycolourwilldo · 03/11/2021 21:17

Pasta mixed in with baked beans

MrsJamieFraser22 · 03/11/2021 21:23

“ Potato waffles that had been in the freezer for a year, need to clear out in advance of Xmas, beans and cheese.” Smile this was a regular lunch option at my DDs school- she loved it so much it has now become a regular weekend lunch - admittedly the waffles are probably a bit fresher!

WorkBitch · 03/11/2021 21:25

Leftover rice that gave me food poisoning.

🤢

Mum2jenny · 03/11/2021 21:31

Reheated mashed potato, cauli cheese and a fried egg. Was actually better than it sounds, but I was hungry!!

Chunkymenrock · 03/11/2021 21:36

3 packets of crisps, dipped in Philadelphia soft cheese. Yummy! Even googled how to fold empty crisp packet into a triangle! (It was my Lockdown Skill!) Grin

SteveArnottsWaistcoat · 03/11/2021 21:37

My Super noodle sandwich absolutely LOADED with cheese brings all the boys to the yard.

namebunny · 03/11/2021 21:43

This is so reassuring! I thought I was the only one to snuffle around in the back of the fridge and you were all tucking into salad and fruit!

Noseylittlemoo · 03/11/2021 21:45

I hope all those people that were appalled by the M & S Macaroni cheese sandwich discussion last week aren't reading this thread....!!!

RedRec · 03/11/2021 21:47

@TheMissingMango

A banana wrapped in a store bought Nutella filled crepe. Bon appetit!
That sounds absolutely gorgeous. Am going to try it.
honeyfox · 03/11/2021 21:56

@HuntingoftheSnark

A couple of weeks ago I bit into a (fairly old but not mouldy) nectarine. The stone broke in half and a thousand tiny creatures fell out, all over me. Upon googling, these were earwigs and it's not entirely uncommon. That was the most hideous lunch I have ever had and I will never look at a nectarine again.
I had to bite my fingers reading this 🤮
Bonnealle · 03/11/2021 21:56

You can get potatoes in a can??!!!

reallyworriedjobhunter · 03/11/2021 22:00

Super noodles on toast. Chow Mein flavour. The very thought of it.
TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 03/11/2021 22:04

Tinned peas, from the tin, with either tomato ketchup (and a dash of Tabasco) or with mayonaise (with a dash of Tabasco)
Additional benefit is no washing up and if you lick the spoon clean properly, you can put that back in the cutlery drawer (I wouldn't of course... Blush)

Chunkymenrock · 03/11/2021 22:06

@Bonnealle

You can get potatoes in a can??!!!
Do you really, truly not know this? Of course you can! Along with tinned peas, sweetcorn, carrots etc!
FedUpWithBriiiiick · 03/11/2021 22:11

Christ, I'm glad it's not just me eating absolute shite while WFH.

Yesterday's delicacy was 10 halloumi fries (of the frozen party food variety) dipped in Nando's sweet chilli jam

TeenTraumaTrials · 03/11/2021 22:19

Aaah supernoodles on toast were a fave after pub snack of mine as a student. Might have to get some and re-live my youth. I regularly finish off random bits of leftovers that have been in the fridge for a few days for my WFH lunch - often at about 10.30am as I get really hungry around then.

Bonnealle · 03/11/2021 22:21

@Chunkymenrock
No, I had no idea! To be honest I’ve never really thought about it. I don’t really like potatoes that much so would never have looked. I knew about sweetcorn. Didn’t know about carrots though! I’ll get a can on my next order!
