Lighthearted obviously!

I meal plan each week as my dp never has a preference and will eat anything so I get to eat whatever I fancy everyday Cake

I would rather sell my first born than empty the dishwasher Grin

I actually enjoy hoovering. I HATE cleaning the toilet

Amdone123 · 03/11/2021 12:38

I love cleaning the fridge and food cupboards. I would say I do it daily or at least every other day. I love finding foodstuffs I've bought and forgotten about, and I love seeing meals in the fridge, prepared etc.
I hate changing the bedding. I like stripping the bed and washing it but I can't stand wrestling with the duvet. The air is usually blue.
I don't iron. Ever. ( oh a white lie that. I just remembered my grandaughter's polo shirt was creased yesterday morning so I ironed it. I'm not an animal 🤣).

Sparklfairy · 03/11/2021 12:41

I like loading the washing machine. I hate unloading it and hanging it up to dry. And I hate putting it away so end up just pulling what I want to wear straight off the dryer Blush

I used to be a cleaner. Once you've been paid to do housework, you hate and resent doing your own for free Grin

I currently have 3 loads of washing on the bed needing to be put away Blush

Oh I also love mopping the kitchen floor, feels like a real achievement, I don't know why Grin

Up there with emptying the dishwasher is definitely the constant picking up of tiny human toys. So many pieces, why?!

Cheesymonster · 03/11/2021 13:04

I like ironing, I set the board up in front of the TV and watch Netflix. Hate cleaning the glass shower door as I cannot get it clean.

I also DETEST making the packed lunches.

DappledThings · 03/11/2021 13:08

I like ironing too. It is the most satisfying of chores.

Hate anything food related. Planning and deciding on meals, shopping, cooking. Dh does all of that.

EatSleepRantRepeat · 03/11/2021 13:09

I like cleaning the bathroom, it looks so clean and shiny afterwards and smells good

I hate washing up by hand - pots, pans, glasses that shouldn't go in the dishwasher. I'd rather lose the non-stick and have cloudy glassware!

LaBellina · 03/11/2021 13:10

I love doing laundry.

I absolutely hate cleaning the bathroom and the toilet.

KristinAmandaThomas · 03/11/2021 13:17

But @Amdone123 if you do it daily how do you ever get any forgotten finds?!

I like cleaning kitchens, hate doing bathrooms. Hoovering is fine. Dusting is not. Also hate food shopping but don’t mind actual cooking most of the time. Laundry is fine up to when something needs ironing, that’s a faff. I like plumping sofa cushions too, also making beds. And I love folding towels, love the flick and tuck manoeuvre to get them looking professional and insta worthy on the towel rail Grin

thingamebob · 03/11/2021 13:17

Hate changing the beds.
Hate cleaning the car never clean the car
Don't mind sorting the washing, I save it up for a Sunday evening and settle down in front of the TVSmile

Comedycook · 03/11/2021 13:19

I like vacuuming as I have a new hand held one...and I find it satisfying to see the dust collecting and know it's no longer on the floor. I like food shopping. I also like cleaning the bathroom... doesn't take long and the difference is huge. I hate cleaning my kitchen floor...it's huge and has shiny tiles which always look dirty and sreaky

CrumpleHornedSnowcack · 03/11/2021 13:20

Hate doing the laundry & like cleaning the kitchen & cooking

TheCanyon · 03/11/2021 13:21

I love cleaning the Windows, hate changing beds.

Fifthtimelucky · 03/11/2021 13:25

Love:
none of it really, but I suppose I don't mind most food-related chores or filling and emptying the dishwasher.

Hate:

  • mopping kitchen and bathroom floors,
  • changing beds (difficult because mattresses are so heavy)
  • cleaning the oven
SirenSays · 03/11/2021 13:29

I think general tidying is so much worse than cleaning. I'll happily choose to scrub a toilet over picking up after everyone.

Washing dishes, more specifically cutlery and pans. It's such a fucking tedious job. I long for a house with space for a dishwasher! I hate hoovering the stairs and putting laundry away too.

bestcattoyintheworld · 03/11/2021 13:32

I hate cooking and anything to do with meal prep.

Comedycook · 03/11/2021 13:33

Totally agree

itsme · 03/11/2021 13:35

I love meal planning and cooking- despise the cleaning up afterwards so DH will wash up etc.

I hate the laundry- why so many pairs of socks for 3 people?! Which also leads to I hate ironing- but will do it because I don't want DD looking neglected.

merrygoround51 · 03/11/2021 13:35

The endless washing drying and putting away clothes

Time40 · 03/11/2021 13:35

I wouldn't use the word "favourite" for any chores, but my least bad ones are weeding/cutting down/garden tidying and washing the car. I quite like de-cluttering and tidying cupboards, etc.

I loathe and detest anything to do with food and cookery.

If it doesn't survive the dishwasher then I don't need it Grin

Least favourite - cleaning the bath and the tiles and grout around the bath. I can't do it unless I actually stand in it and I feel super resentful because no one else in the family would ever think to do it.

Most favourite - tidying up the front garden. It's not such a monster as the back garden and always looks lovely when done.

clary · 03/11/2021 13:41

Oooh great thread idea!

I really do not enjoy cleaning the bathroom (and we have three if I count the downstairs loo) so I have that planned in first on my cleaning schedule (or I wouldn't do it).

I really like ironing as I love the pile of cleaned fresh smooth clothes at the end. Like changing the bedlinen for the same reason. I also enjoy a clear out of my clothes or make up drawer, tho that's not weekly obvs. OOoh yes mopping the kitchen floor is really satisfying too. Maybe bc you get a good result with minimal time and effort.

What is this flick and tuck of which you speak @KristinAmandaThomas?

zukiecat · 03/11/2021 13:41

I like ironing too, I set the board at chair level and either watch The Last Kingdom or put the radio on, and iron for hours, it's soothing.

I detest cleaning the food bin, and taking it out, luckily my DD doesn't mind, she likes cleaning the bathroom too.
