Lighthearted obviously!

I meal plan each week as my dp never has a preference and will eat anything so I get to eat whatever I fancy everyday Cake

I would rather sell my first born than empty the dishwasher Grin

OP posts:
EatSleepRantRepeat · 03/11/2021 13:41

If it doesn't survive the dishwasher then I don't need it

You are my people @Lsquiggles! DH keeps buying hand-wash stuff so I leave them for him in the sink Grin

idontlikealdi · 03/11/2021 13:44

I love hoovering now I have a robot. I fucking hate meal planning and online food ordering.

IhateBoswell · 03/11/2021 13:44

Love hoovering and mopping the floors, hate ironing above all things.

AllTheWeetabix · 03/11/2021 13:45

I friggin hate folding washing out of the dryer!

I love bleaching the bath and giving it a good scrub

TuftyMarmoset · 03/11/2021 13:51

I love hoovering. I have a cordless Shark and it just makes the job so easy.

However I refuse to do washing up. I prefer cleaning toilets to washing up!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 03/11/2021 13:56

I love doing laundry. I have a laundry room, a tuble dryer etc. I do a few rotations whilst watching Downton or something.

I hate putting the laundry away. Easily ky least favourite task. It just piles up in irs clean little stacks in the laundry room till dh cracks and takes it away.

KristinAmandaThomas · 03/11/2021 13:57

@clary I was shown it when I worked in a shop that had a section for throws (remember when they were a thing?!) and then a few years later I worked in a home furnishings department and found they did the same thing for towels. You can do it by laying the towel down and folding in 1/3s then over 1/2 but if you do it standing the motion involves flicking and tucking over. You end up with all the sides hidden and just a smooth outer. Sorry that’s an utterly crap description isn’t it Blush

SequinnedShawl · 03/11/2021 13:57

Love vacuuming, washing up and laundry. Smile

Detest putting groceries away.

Planesmistakenforstars · 03/11/2021 13:57

I have never thought of meal planning as a chore until I read your OP! I love doing that, and I don't mind cooking. I utterly detest all other household chores in every possible way.

SpookyPumpkinPants · 03/11/2021 13:57

I love hanging washing on the line.

You can jeep the rest!

DirtyDancing · 03/11/2021 13:59

Putting washing away. Argh!!! Pairing socks argh again Smile

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 03/11/2021 14:01

I fucking hate all housework and chores. I genuinely can't think of anything I like to do. Luckily I am married to a cleaner who loves to iron Grin I don't actually do any housework apart from some laundry sometimes. I know how lucky I am.

I like picking cat hairs off the curtains one by one. Does that count?

clary · 03/11/2021 14:03

AlCalavicci · 03/11/2021 14:13

I always hated vac'ing so bought a robot , jobs a gud un Grin

I don't exactly enjoy meal planing but it saves my sanity when I am working 12 hr shifts.

I like making the bed and look forward to nice clean sheets that night.

Iron ? iron? what is this iron thing you speak of ?

Nataliefrances123 · 03/11/2021 14:13

Love vacuuming. Absolutely hate cooking

brambleon · 03/11/2021 14:18

Changing the bin bags

Kljnmw3459 · 03/11/2021 14:19

Hoovering is quick and easy.

Hate changing bedlinen.

Notdoingthis · 03/11/2021 14:22

I love the process of doing the laundry. Dirty to clean, wet to dry, messy to tidy, begin again. So satisfying.
I hate hoovering, changing beds, anything disgusting like toilets.

NeverTheHootenanny · 03/11/2021 14:27

Favourite chore - cooking, but only when DH is there to watch the kids so I can shut the kitchen door, put on a podcast and pour a glass of wine.

Most hated - vacuuming the stairs, such a hassle. Or emptying the bins. I refuse to do either of these.

IAmTheLovechildOfYvesAndIsabel · 03/11/2021 14:45

I really enjoy ironing, mopping the floor and clean the windows and polishing and wiping surfaces.
All activities that allow me to zone out basically!
Not keen on the rest of it though; my particular pet peeve is after a whole house mammoth blitz - the little bits left! Always take the longest to find homes for the random objects, odd sock etc.
My very favourite bit is the window of maybe 30 minutes when you can sit down with a coffee and marvel at the sense of peace and calm. But then those untidy, messy people I made years ago come in and destroy it!

FranklySonImTheGaffer · 03/11/2021 14:46

I regularly trade jobs with DH to get out of hoovering. Not sure why but I hate it - it's a joint worse chore for me, tying with cleaning the shower.

Favourite jobs are all laundry related - hanging clothes out to dry, folding them, pairing socks. No idea why but doing them makes me feel peaceful and like I'm an organised person Blush

Hohoholymoley · 03/11/2021 14:47

Putting away washing and making packed lunches. Love folding the clothes just can't bring myself to put it away

IAmTheLovechildOfYvesAndIsabel · 03/11/2021 14:53

Actually, what we clearly need to do is get a system going whereby a Mumsnetter comes in and does the job you hate but they enjoy.
If possible you would be at their house doing the same but if it's not equal like that another Mumsnetter can do it while yet another one does the jobs she(or he) isn't keen on.
We just need to set up a database and a kitty for travel expenses.
Who's with me? 😁🤔

cuttlefishgame · 03/11/2021 14:56

I hate the whole ruddy lot.

trappedsincesundaymorn · 03/11/2021 14:59

I can honestly say that I hate all household chores.
