Most terrifying Dr Who monster?

As a child it was the cybermen, I think because they looked sort of human, as an adult it's those bloody weeping angels, looks like they are making a reappearance in this series

1000% weeping angels, blooming terrifying!!

BonteGracieuse · 31/10/2021 17:36

The old Cybermen were much more terrifying than the big stompy ones they have now.

But I have to agree that the Weeping Angels are pretty scary!

Surely it has to be the Daleks?

southlondoner02 · 31/10/2021 17:40

Weeping angels , no contest! I don't allow DD10 to watch the weeping angels ones as she gets too scared to go to sleep

WildRosie · 31/10/2021 17:41

Robots of Death (Tom Baker) and the Autons (Jon Pertwee).

angelopal · 31/10/2021 17:41

The one I found creepy was the one with kids with the gas masks asking are you my mummy.

Mynameisthecatwhogotthecream · 31/10/2021 17:42

Daleks did scare me but not as much as the cybermen

My DD is terrified of Cawsand, the Last Human which is just a piece of skin...

I can't pick one. I love the Weeping Angels.

coogee · 31/10/2021 17:46

As a child it was the cybermen

I’d never heard of the cyber men before this weekend.

My husband had been putting a fence in using a fence post basher-inner (his words).

He commented that it reminded him his most feared Dr Who monster when he was a child.

Most terrifying Dr Who monster?

Sea devils! (But I was very small)

FictionalCharacter · 31/10/2021 17:46

Weeping angels usually get the vote, but for me it’s the Silence. Ugh!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 31/10/2021 17:46

Should be Cassandra! No idea why that corrected to Cawsand...
Aposterhasnoname · 31/10/2021 17:47

I used be terrified of the cyber men, but my god, the weeping angels are another level. Cant watch them.

Simonjt · 31/10/2021 17:49

The weeping angels and “are you my mummy”

HappySantasaurus · 31/10/2021 17:52

Agree with the Weeping Angels, but also The Silence were really scary.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 31/10/2021 17:52

Weeping angels and the darleks. Especially in the episode of the first new series where they thought they were safe then they could fly up the stairs. Though been a bit too over used since and lost that fear a little

mollio · 31/10/2021 17:59

Definitely the angels - I am extremely freaked out by them and my DH and kids love enacting them frequently 😅

RampantIvy · 31/10/2021 18:04

Weeping Angels
Silence
Are you my Mummy

and from much longer ago the yetis

The problem with the daleks and the cybermen is that they have lost their novelty value and are no longer frightening. I would say that about the weeping angels as well because once you have seen the first episode with them you know what is going to happen. The first episode with them really made me jump though

Afonavon · 31/10/2021 18:06

Used to be Weeping Angels until I worked with one of the actors (ina not acting setting).

The Silence are my no1 scary monster.

PuddleglumtheMarshWiggle · 31/10/2021 18:12

Jon Pertwee and the giant maggots!
I was about 8 years old and they were the stuff of nightmares. Still watched it though!
Loved Jon Pertwee and saw him live at Wimbledon Theatre many years ago.

WhoWants2Know · 31/10/2021 18:16

The Ood, when their eyes turned red were pretty fearsome.

Gladioli23 · 31/10/2021 18:21

The weeping angels and I remember being properly freaked out by the vashta nerada from the library episodes.
