Never had this happen before. Have they moved Halloween? Small dressed up child with adult in tow. Yes my house is decorated but pumpkin not lit as it is not Halloween yet!

Did you tell them to come back tomorrow? You’re quite right trick or treat is tomorrow

Wiifitmama · 30/10/2021 18:37

She was small and cute and smiled at me. I couldn’t turn her away!

Maybe it’s because tomorrow will be a school night??

The few times I've had them turn up early I tell them to come back the next day. Had the odd cf'er adult moan about it being a school night, surely I have something even pennies. I didn't have any decorations up, lights on to say we are taking part or anything.

millenialblush · 30/10/2021 18:40

In my area lots are doing it tonight as tomo is school night

Starcaller · 30/10/2021 18:41

Thankfully no such shenanigans here! We get loads of kids coming round so I'm glad they've all got the memo Grin Halloween is quite often on a school night anyway.

cleanasawhistle · 30/10/2021 18:42

I dont mind if we have any tonight as the weather forcast for tomorrow is awful.

nicky2512 · 30/10/2021 18:42

I had two at the door last night after nine! I was upstairs getting my pjs on. Everyone else in the house ignored them but I felt bad and got them some sweets. Definitely a bit too early though!

SwedishEdith · 30/10/2021 18:42

It's often on a school night though so not sure I follow that logic. I must admit, I was wondering if some would do tonight but only got one tub of sweets so sticking to tomorrow.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 30/10/2021 18:43

@Wiifitmama

She was small and cute and smiled at me. I couldn’t turn her away!
that's how they get you
Wowzel · 30/10/2021 18:45

We had some yesterday - 48 hrs before!
I did give them some sweets as they were properly dressed up, but we were quite surprised

traka · 30/10/2021 18:46

We had fireworks going off tonight, how dare they

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 30/10/2021 18:47

@traka

We had fireworks going off tonight, how dare they
we had fireworks yesterday and it's just started again now.

I love fireworks, especially when I can enjoy them for free

FourTeaFallOut · 30/10/2021 18:48

I have a bowl of sweets ready for any Saturday early birds, no sign of any yet.

LubaLuca · 30/10/2021 18:52

I'm expecting some this evening. The weather is supposed to be pretty awful tomorrow compared to today, so I wouldn't blame those with tiddlers dressed up and wanting their faces painted to bring them out now. To me it's not a strictly timetabled event, it's a good excuse for little children to have a bit of fun at a time that's close enough.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 30/10/2021 19:00

All sorts of drama on our village Fb. Some are going tonight some tomorrow. No one is ready tonight. Panic stations! I found it hilarious.

anormalperson · 30/10/2021 19:02

Oh jeez , about to take mine out for reasons mentioned up thread , weather / school night 😬

Insomniacexpress · 30/10/2021 19:03

Just had one here as well…chaos trying to dig out the sweets meant for tomorrow whilst wrangling toddler DS for bed. Never happened before!

MondeoFan · 30/10/2021 19:04

Me too I had 2 very small children knock just now saying trick or treat. I said 'sorry we aren't doing it tonight"
I felt bad as I have sweets but it was so unexpected plus no pumpkin out or anything like that

BadlyFormedQuestion · 30/10/2021 19:06

I don’t understand the school night thing at all. It’s not like trick or treating involves a late night or anything.

HairyFeline · 30/10/2021 19:07

It’s here tonight, but tomorrow too! Very confusing!

StoopitAutocarrot · 30/10/2021 19:10

I’m expecting them over the weekend, so tonight ( already had one lot) and tomorrow, fine with me. Pumpkin and bagged sweeties ready to go, spider in my hair and deep red lippy on !

Beamur · 30/10/2021 19:10

No one has knocked here.
Good job really as I won't be handing out sweets until tomorrow.
Strictly Halloween only! It's not a moveable feast.

Noeuf · 30/10/2021 19:11

Three different sets wandering around looking sad at the moment. Dad talking loudly oh his phone about the street not being decorated.

BadlyFormedQuestion · 30/10/2021 19:12

I just cannot imagine how anyone has decided that it’s ok to decide to move a fixed date thing that requires all your neighbours to participate for it to even happen.

It’s like deciding to move New Year’s Eve or something.
