My daughter is pestering big time to host a party. She is 18. I am determined not to, for lots of obvious reasons.....
What is the worst thing that happened at your teenagers parties? I need ammunition.

If you're not keen, I would have thought it would be better to let your DD have a party under strict parameters and supervision. If you refuse, she may go off and celebrate on her own and then you have zero control of what she does.

DS wound up in A&E with no memory of the last 5 hours when he went to a teen party. It hasn't put him off parties though, so I'm not sure what this thread will achieve.

LowlyTheWorm · 25/10/2021 22:05

Coke was snorted off my toilet cistern
Someone’s nose was broken in a fight
The floors were sticky for WEEKS
And I’m pretty sure several people were shagging all over the bloody house.

Don’t do it.

ceeveebee · 25/10/2021 22:23

At MY teen party 30 years ago (when I was 16) all my friends were smoking weed, drinking too much and vomiting everywhere, shagging in the toilet and some fucker stole my mums perfume which I never heard the last of…don’t do it

VladmirsPoutine · 25/10/2021 22:24

As a teen I don't think I ever attended a house party in which someone didn't throw up, drugs weren't being used, house wasn't tarnished etc etc

HappyAsASandboy · 25/10/2021 22:29

Someone walked into the patio door and the whole panel fell out towards the patio. Thankfully (?) it fell on to a pretty strong teen who caught it. We were able to put it back into the sliding frame (sort of ....) but it was never really the same again!

My mum still doesn't know I had the party, never mind about the patio door.

lmpeachment · 25/10/2021 22:31

Friends had the police along with dogs, and a Helicopter arrived when all 150 kids turned up at the local station to walk to their house

Invisimamma · 25/10/2021 22:33

As a teen I went to a party where the toilet bowl was cracked clean open (only bathroom in the house!).

Vomit in parents bed. Food in plant pots. Decking set on fire because they decided to light the bbq. TV cracked, things stolen, smoking in the house.

Don't. Do. It.

Comefromaway · 25/10/2021 22:34

I was really strict at ds’s 16th. No alcohol, bag searches, invitation only and no-one upstairs (except for a pre-arranged chill out space for someone with sensory overload) me & Dh in attendance.

It went great.

shockedNeighbour · 25/10/2021 22:37

When I was at high school there were numerous teen parties. I never attended them however they all seemed to end in disaster.

Typical incidents included:

  • police being called due to noise/disturbance
  • smashed glassware
  • ruined carpets (vomit/alcohol)
  • items stolen
  • items damaged
  • drunken fights
Letsallscreamatthesistene · 25/10/2021 22:37

Watch Project X. It'll put you off letting her host a party forever.

...its a good film though and tbh if I was a teen id have LOVED to have gone to that party

Yeah I was going to say I went to a party once where the bath ended up with a massive hole in its side. I’m not sure how.

Not as bad as a broken toilet though.

moomoogalicious · 25/10/2021 22:39

Blimey my teens have been to lots of parties but none like the above! Although there's usually someone puking in the garden. My ds is having a party at ours for his 17th but we will be in and they'll only have access to certain parts of the house

SickAndTiredAgain · 25/10/2021 22:40

Yeah but my parents had no idea I was at a party where the bath got a hole in it. The knew I was at a party, I didn’t fill in all the details..

hellcatspangle · 25/10/2021 22:43

My teenagers never had any more than a few close friends round.... but at the worst party someone I know had, a door got ripped off the hinges, someone squirted red hair dye all over the bathroom, and people were throwing up in the fishpond. Is that bad enough?

AnyFucker · 25/10/2021 22:43

Shower ripped off wall. Leak of water through until kitchen ceiling collapsed. Smashed laptop. Neighbour terrorised.

I could go on.

PandoraP · 25/10/2021 22:44

I have had lots of parties for my teens. The worst thing is the state of the bathroom. Like an airplane toilet after a 24 hour flight😷I have always been there in the background but nothing has gone terribly wrong so far.

HereticFanjo · 25/10/2021 22:44

Let's just say ambulances and police were involved 😬

Rainbowcake88 · 25/10/2021 22:46

When I was a teenager we had a lot of house parties and I don't think any ended particularly well...

  • Police were called to a few
  • drugs used
  • sex... everywhere
  • vomit
  • blocked toilets

Never a good idea but a right of passage 🤣🤣

Blaaaaaaaaah · 25/10/2021 22:47

Wow I had loads of parties as a teen. Nothing like these!! Few plant pots may have got broken outside and once someone puked on the carpet but that was it.

Halloaten · 25/10/2021 22:50

3 girls all got pregnant at the same party when I was at school. All babies born the same week. One of them is now a grandma at 34

Obsidiansphere · 25/10/2021 22:53

Waking up in a dystopian nightmare…then I realised it was Brexit reality…

Hairyfriend · 25/10/2021 22:54

I clearly lead a sheltered teen-hood! I had multiple sleepovers (both sexes) in my later teens, including a 21st in our garden. No issues at all! I was always very sensible, with good friends. My parents where there too if needed- no issues.

I found far more drugs about in my early 20's, but maybe its different now?

Worst party I went to, I was about age 18-19, it was for a male birthday with mainly drink, males guests (I'm not being sexist, just trying to explain to scenario). They left their 'friend' outside on a wet night, extremely drunk. Their 'friend' was shivering and vomiting. Fortunately, I knew 1st aid, put their 'friend' in the recovery position and got him warm. My own friends would have never let a friend end up like this though.

Only you know your daughter and her friends though.

jesusmaryjosephandtheweedonkey · 25/10/2021 22:59

Smashed windows, bannister pulled off, lock broken on front door, bathroom sink pulled off the wall, damaged living room floor and kitchen cupboard.
Stollen jewellery. Bed ruined!

cricketmum84 · 25/10/2021 23:00

I drank too much vodka and fell through a glass table.

Fuck knows how I didn't sever an artery.

Bipbopbee · 25/10/2021 23:00

Entire stair banisters snapped off when someone slid down them.
