What do you eat when you just want crappy comfort food, but not a takeaway or a full cook from scratch meal

My go to is always plain pasta with a shit tonne of grated cheddar and pepper on.

Heart attack on a plate but damn its quick, easy and delicious.

Digestive and dairylea triangle sandwich, hmmmm so good. Can you tell I'm a child of the 80's.

fedup65356 · 23/10/2021 18:35

Crisp sandwich with dairylea instead of butter. Ideally Walkers Ready Salted or Cheese & Onion.

topcat2014 · 23/10/2021 18:37

Never pasta for me - pasta is a chore to eat.

Had jacket potato cheese and beans just now.

I actually think that is a balanced meal, personally.

Cheese souffle - only ever make it after a stomach upset but I love it!

nordicnorth · 23/10/2021 18:39

Pasta with tuna, a shit ton of cheese and Heinz tomato soup. Has to be Heinz. Pure stodgy student food.

MolkosTeenageAngst · 23/10/2021 18:40

Toast.

SpeckyWithTheGoodHair · 23/10/2021 18:41

Oven chips, really thick beef Bisto and grated cheese

CurryLover55 · 23/10/2021 18:44

Scraped not scrapped!

Christmas1988 · 23/10/2021 18:45

Jacket potato cheese and beans or spaghetti with olive oil and black pepper.

Badabingbadabum · 23/10/2021 18:45

Cheese toastie.

CurryLover55 · 23/10/2021 18:46

Depends on my mood but cheesy chips with mayo is probably top of the list most times.

Itsnotdeep · 23/10/2021 18:48

Toast
sandwich
Toasted sandwich

possibly a shop bought ready made curry

I don't really like cooking, and cba for myself - even tonight I'm wondering what I can be bothered to eat. It might be Krave out of the box tbh. And a whisky.

polkadotpjs · 23/10/2021 18:48

Risotto is not an easy option !!!
I am reading all these for inspiration as DH has just failed to bring me the easy components I requested for my dinner.
I wanted a crusty bread roll. He got me stuff to put in it but no roll. LTB? I'm teetering with migraine so might just go to bed and not eat

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 23/10/2021 18:55

Egg & cress sandwiches on plastic bread. Ditto tuna and cucumber.

Or, as many have said already, a metric fuckton of cheese...

ThreeImaginaryBoys · 23/10/2021 18:56

Toast, toast, toast and more toast. My ultimate comfort food.

Or fresh crusty bread with salted butter.

Yummmmmmmm :)

MoreThanAnOffDay · 23/10/2021 18:56

Cheese and Ritz with Branston. Simple.
Then cake!

ThreeImaginaryBoys · 23/10/2021 18:58

Or M&S egg mayo and cress sandwich.
Don't judge me but I think egg mayo sandwiches might be my death row meal. With chips, natch.

AutumnAlmanack · 23/10/2021 18:59

And M&S Chunky Chicken with rice - delicious! My mother always made me this when I was unwell.

Daisy829 · 23/10/2021 18:59

Packet of pasta & sauce with added cheese & mushrooms. Yummy shitty comfort food.

HeronLanyon · 23/10/2021 19:00

threel I think just possibly a soft white bread cheese Mayo and red onion sandwich would feature on my last supper menu. With crisps.

santabetterwashhishands · 23/10/2021 19:02

Corned beef and onion toastie 😋

AlCalavicci · 23/10/2021 19:05

Very lazy mode -
Pot Noodle
Cheese / beans on toast
Toasted malt loaf
tinned soup and toast
humous and warm nan / pitta bread

Bit more effort ( and more filling )
Pasta , bacon tinned tomatoes , stick toms in a pan on highish heat to reduce a bit , put pasta on to cook , fry bacon , add any other lurking veg mushrooms , peppers , onion etc drain pasta chuck bacon , tomato &veg in with pasta add grated cheese eat out of the pan serve takes about 10 mins .

omelette and toast
poached egg and toast
bacon buttie
sausage buttie

I am hungry now

Biscoffee · 23/10/2021 19:06

Two fried eggs slapped between two slices of white bread and butter.

Or if that’s not possible. Two fried eggs on top of quinoa served in a bowl so it’s all jumbled up.

icedcoffees · 23/10/2021 19:08

Bacon supernoodles with cheese - I may add vegetables if I'm feeling particularly virtuous.
Cheesy mash with butter, cheese and sweetcorn.
Baked beans (the ones with pork sausages) on toast.
Cheese on toast with Lea & Perrins.

Microwave popcorn.
Kettle chips with sour cream.
A bowl of cereal.
Peanut butter on toast.
Jam and vegemite sandwiches.

oldperson1 · 23/10/2021 19:08

Scrambled egg toast or bacon roll
