Can someone explain what my son saw?

My DS (14) and his friends went for a walk deep in the woods yesterday. They came across four people standing in a circle with candles and markings on the ground. Two were dressed in all black, very smart, like priests. The other two were in normal clothes and were bleeding from their arms. My son said he saw them cut themselves, they were mumbling something inaudible while the two in all black held their arms in the air and chanted. When they realised they were being watched one of the people in black told the boys they were going to cut their heads off if they don’t leave. I know it’s true because one of the kids filmed it and I’ve watched it. Wtf!?

@1ittlegreen

This is definitely not witchcraft. I practice Wicca and no such thing exists inside a coven or for solitary witches.

I suspect this is a form of satanic ritual which is best left alone. I would encourage your son not to go deep into the woods.

I hate to disillusion you but Wicca is only one form of witchcraft and a very new sanitised one at that.

The type of witchcraft that takes part privately in the woods and involves blood rites most definitely exists and has nothing to do with a satanic ritual.

ohthestruggles · 19/10/2021 18:03

@Pigflewpast yes, there are woods near us where you could walk for miles and not see a soul. Certainly no car parks or ice cream shops Hmm

@MibsXX

Four women minding their own business deep in the woods, not hurting anyone, and a bunch of strapping lads arrive.. I have to be honest my first reaction would likely be a jokey threat too, how many kids in the news have been caught with knives etc and doing nasty things? And how many people here would like their leisure activities being watched and filmed with the possibility of being put on youtube for all to laugh at by a bunch of kids? Just another perspective...
'Leisure activities' Grin

@ibelieveinghosts just to also clarify that I think spirituality and science can go hand in hand

Let’s hope the people involved don’t mind their pictures and accusations against them being published in the Daily Mail. I suggest the OP asks for the thread y to o be removed

Just come to say its in the Fail. Do you think journalists from there pretend to do something else for a living? It must be really embarrassing to admit that you're a professional plaguriser.

@Merlin3189

TBH, I think this is fake news. If it were real, I'd expect where and when for a start. There are not many places you can go "deep in the woods", without coming to the other side, the car park, icecream shop, ranger station or whatever. For that matter, if something interesting were happening in the woods around here, there'd already be a crowd of spectators.
Sorry, you're completely wrong, there are acres of deep woods where I live..you can walk for ages and not see a soul.

We don't have ranger stations in the U.K. Very few have car parks or ice cream shops dotted round either. They're not 'tourist attractions' as such.

This sort of thing does happen. This was going on in a neighbouring village just over a year ago https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/animals-stabbed-death-satanic-symbols-new-forest-hampshire-a9217271.html%3famp]]

We have a woods down the road from our house, really quite deep and dark. Since reading this thread I quick step past it when walking the dog, just incase there is a casserole sacrifice thing happening.

If its a sausage casserole then I'm down

@JesusInTheCabbageVan

This is a parenting forum populated largely by frazzled, middle class premenopausal women. We've been excitedly arguing about a second hand changing bag in a charity shop for several weeks now. The chances of any of us having insider knowledge of satanic forest rituals are quite slim, tbh.
One of the best replies I have ever seen 😂

Blimey thats the first thread I've seen get put in the DM, everyone kept saying these things happen. It's so weird, it's not news, it's just everyone's comments second hand. Like, why not just read it on MN Confused

Tomthumbsbigbum · 19/10/2021 21:53

I can well believe the OPs son and friends came across something. I live in an area with a lot of woodland covering hundreds of acres(mostly belongs to a huge country estate) and the public can access large parts of it. There's a spot that has a ring of yew trees, which are supposedly ancient and linked to some kind of ceremony/witchcraft. You have to walk quite far and would only be aware of it if you're local. When I've been before there have been stone circles and candles left. It's pretty creepy there. I can just imagine some people getting together there and doing this kind of thing.
