Can someone explain what my son saw?

My DS (14) and his friends went for a walk deep in the woods yesterday. They came across four people standing in a circle with candles and markings on the ground. Two were dressed in all black, very smart, like priests. The other two were in normal clothes and were bleeding from their arms. My son said he saw them cut themselves, they were mumbling something inaudible while the two in all black held their arms in the air and chanted. When they realised they were being watched one of the people in black told the boys they were going to cut their heads off if they don’t leave. I know it’s true because one of the kids filmed it and I’ve watched it. Wtf!?

So wierd. 😱

StormBaby · 17/10/2021 11:05

Best thread we’ve had in a while 🤣

WorraLiberty · 17/10/2021 11:07

How can a couple of boys whispering be even remotely identifying? 🙄

Some teenagers filming a Halloween movie with fake blood.

They said the threat because they were messing around and didn't actually mean it.

That's my guess...

ronkey · 17/10/2021 11:07

Well it looks a lot less scary then it sounded. Although if someone threatened to cut my child's off I be down there prepping for my own satanic ritual!

thekaratekid · 17/10/2021 11:07

If this is real then it is bloody weird. They look like they are wearing medieval type tunics of some description. They also look fairly young (blond one inparticular) but can't tell really.

How big are the woods and how deep in had the boys wandered? I can't imagine a random cult doing a blood ritual right where they might be discovered by people going for a walk. Would your DS be able to relocate the area if the police asked? The might have left all sorts there.

Our local woods are quite big, but even the most "remote" areas are frequented by walkers, ramblers or foragers e.g. in chestnut season.

MintyGreenDream · 17/10/2021 11:08

Some sort of initiation ceremony?

ronkey · 17/10/2021 11:10

Has no one told them Netflix is only £5.99 a month, or perhaps they've binged The Craft!

WitchesInTheWoods · 17/10/2021 11:11

@Morgan12 They’re 14. Not young kids. We’re surrounded by woodland and the boys are all scouts. They like to go exploring in the woods and we don’t see anything wrong with it. It’s better than spending the day on an Xbox, surely?

Some pagan rituals bond with blood.
I’m a satanist but have not come across anything like this in my circles.
Could well just be people mucking around. It’s October after all.

TooGood2BeFalse · 17/10/2021 11:12

Weird...

HereForThis · 17/10/2021 11:12

Well that's me told with the screenshot - actually didn't believe it.

Didn't realise people still do this sort of backwards nonsense! Although, I'd love to be able to turn into an invisible fly just to hear what they're saying.

Badtasteflump · 17/10/2021 11:12

So what did the Police say OP?

WitchesInTheWoods · 17/10/2021 11:13

One the boys says my son’s name.

@JesusInTheCabbageVan

This is a parenting forum populated largely by frazzled, middle class premenopausal women. We've been excitedly arguing about a second hand changing bag in a charity shop for several weeks now. The chances of any of us having insider knowledge of satanic forest rituals are quite slim, tbh.
Hahahahahahahahahahaha
Badabingbadabum · 17/10/2021 11:14

A level film students?

WitchesInTheWoods · 17/10/2021 11:14

@Badtasteflump I haven’t heard back from them yet. I will update when I do.

Thank you Jesus, this is the kind of comment I come here for Grin

Im off to find the thread about the charity changing bag. Sounds a lot more exciting than this. How could I have missed it.

gardeninggirl68 · 17/10/2021 11:15

What's the white thing in the background?

Flipflopfoodle · 17/10/2021 11:16

I live in the Peaks and have not only passed a coven going up a hill near me (I was coming down with dog) but regularly find offerings on the beacon stones. I have never had an unpleasant experience though, and the fact the kids were threatened with violence would make me definitely report to the police.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 17/10/2021 11:17

@BloodyStupidJohnson, given recent events, that was an outstandingly crass comment.

UnsolicitedDickPic · 17/10/2021 11:18

I'm with @BertieBotts. Some kind of am-dram movie. Can't imagine why anybody would undertake some kind of bizarre satanic ritual in the middle of the day with the potential to be discovered - though my knowledge of witchcraft is based almost entirely on Charmed, so what do I know.

WhoWants2Know · 17/10/2021 11:18

I don't think satanic rituals are really a thing. It more something tabloid papers in the states dream up to frighten parents.

Some pagan/Wiccan groups will gather and chant, but blood doesn't usually come into it.
