What little things make your life better?

Other than the big stuff like love, family, support, a good job... what are the small things that make your life better or give you a lift?

For me, it has to be good music, interesting podcasts and fresh flowers. Oh and a new notepad and a pen that writes nicely.

My DP bringing me coffee in bed in the morning

Waking up fresh faced because I did my skincare routine properly the night before

DP excitedly telling me about his garden progress

Watching wood burning in the fireplace on cold mornings

Completing a project at work and handing it in

Being hangover free after a party because I resisted getting drunk

Completing a long run

DP and I doing our own thing in the evenings (phone/book reading) and occasionally looking up at each other and smiling

Thick black gel pens
Air pods
Ipad
Sheepskin Ugg like slippers which I can wear outside
My bird feeder and watching birds on it
The faux fur throw on my bed
The friend who calls me every day for idle chat
My cats
Big sunglasses
Online shopping of all kinds
Iphone charger with a really long cable
Tv in my bedroom
Wine

Robot hoover
Podcasts
Getting outside at lunchtime

Baking. It makes me so happy.
Lovely pens
Folders to organise stuff in
Colourful bulldog clips etc
Any stationery in fact 😊
Yorkshire tea bags
My gorgeous dog who makes all the family's lives better just by being there

Clean linen
A tidy house.

I'm back to add more; coloured pens were what popped into my head first off though!

I love Christmas. The crafting all sorts of things either on my own, or with the girls, makes me smile. It may not be perfect but it's fun trying out new crafts.

The hour or so before the girls get up for school & I sit in silence, at the kitchen table too. Utter bliss rather than race the morning away & fun at this time of year watching the squirrel and robin bob about when the sun's not quite up yet (there may be more than one of each I expect).

Oh and listening to heavy rain outside whilst in bed - utter bliss!

Going to my calm place by going on a long bike ride in the countryside. Really missed it the last few weeks due to breaking my arm.
That and having a good cup of coffee in the morning.

The long walk into town to the local cafe and their perfect pastries and tea. Settling down to a people watch with my notebook emptying my head the week past and looking forward to the week ahead. Bliss.

My utterly lovely clown of a dog, who greets me with a teddy in his mouth or a fanfare from his squeaky ball every time I come back from the loo.

It’s in my top bedside drawer 🤫.

Being by the sea, which is very fortunate as I've just started a new job with a maritime live saving charity! Which involves visiting lots of different coastal venues. It brings me a very deep level of feeling right with the world.

My perfect afternoon would be just me home alone with :
Snowy/wintry weather
The cat snoozing in front of the log fire
A new jigsaw
A cup of tea and piece of cake
A good podcast

Bliss!!

I forgot my £11 electric blanket it's wonderful

The steel roof of my house. I hear all the sounds: magpies clattering, possums clumping, rain hammering.

If I ever left Australia would miss the metal roof and the smell of boronia.

I've got one of those. I really like it. My DP just sleeps through the light and wakes up with a jolt when the actual alarm goes but I find that the light eases me awake.
