HELP! I am (apparently) a grown adult 42 woman, but I can’t turn my shoes off.

I have purchased some very charming, exceedingly comfortable trainers from Next in the sale.

On hindsight these may have been from the children’s section. The clue is in the soles which flash brighter than the sun. Which is rather fun. But didn’t become apparent until the tags were off and they were upon my feet.

There is NO SWITCH! Nothing. Zero. Nada.

Do they not come with one? What if I need to speak to the Bank Manager, or other actual adults. Someone please tell me the off switch if hidden in a hitherto undiscovered location.

I’m not giving these bad boys up. They’re super comfy and cool. All solutions welcome*

*apart from grow up and return them.

Has everyone who bought the Christmas Tree trainers received theirs yet?

I've had a confirmation of order and an email saying they were being dispatched (with 48 delivery) last Friday but no sign.

Hoping it's not another Hamper-gate from a few years ago.

No I've not had mine. I was given a Royal Mail tracking number but there have been no scans on the parcel and Royal Mail said they've never received it. It was 'despatched' on 8th October so nearly 2 weeks. I've emailed to ask where it is twice now and have had no response Angry

@HoneyDragon

This made me proper laugh, not only because it's funny but because it reminded me of something that happened at the end of September. Allow me the pleasure of telling you a funny story.

Me and my DP went to the pub as a rare treat a few weeks ago for a last drink before we did Ocsober...

A lovely quaint village and a gorgeously overpriced pub, we sat on these huge deep couches by the fire, one couch facing the other and a table for drinks in between. My DP came back from the bar and he misstepped and almost tripped, there was a little ledge which was hidden next to the walkway at the side of the couch we was facing. We laughed about how many people had probably not seen it and spilt their drinks.

Anyway he went to the restroom about 5 mins later, and a lady dressed up quite lovely walked by to also use the restroom and passed the couches. Because I was sat so deep and low down in the couch, from my viewpoint I could only see peoples legs when they walked past the ledge and in to the gap between the two couches. Anyway the poor girl tripped, but what was so funny about it is that I didn't see what shoes she was wearing until she 'fell in to' the visible space between the couches I was sat at, and the force of her tripping had caused her shoes to light up - with her lovely dress she was wearing light up trainers which had activated a flash as she fell 😂😂😂😂😂 it absolutely killed me off because it was so unexpected.

Thanks for sharing your hilarious story! But, did you ask her where she'd gotten her trainers, madcap ?

themadcatparade · 24/10/2021 10:25

Sweetpea1532 · 24/10/2021 16:20

@themadcatparade
😂😂😂😂😂
Well, I guess your story sheds light( Grin )on the thought that 'light-ups' help you see where you're going in the dark😂

Just had my Christmas tree shoes money refunded to PayPal. Such a shame as I really wanted them! (They're still on the website but most sizes sold out).

I assume they were just overwhelmed with MN orders and couldn't fulfill them. Sad

Did they ever reply to you? I've sent loads of messages asking where they are and had no reply to any of them and Royal Mail have confirmed that the tracking number they gave me was generated but the item never posted which all sounds a bit dodgy. I'm going to have to go down a credit card chargeback route I think which is a pain in the arse.
BlueBloodedBlue · 30/10/2021 09:05

No I never heard anything back from them so raised it with PayPal.
Hope you get your money back too.
