Do you ever eat in bed?

I don't mean like a cup of tea and biscuits.. Do you ever eat food in bed?
Every so often after a shite day of work I order a takeaway and eat it on my bed.. Before I go to bed I hoover up any crumbs and then put the sheets in the wash the following morning.. I'm not a messy eater but there's always invisible crumbs.

Never ever

ChocoAvo · 06/10/2021 22:36

Yes, I'm really guilty of it! I love a pizza in bed watching something. Also Dh is an early morning type and I am definetly not, so he gives me breakfast in bed a couple of times a week.

@SingingSands

I've never done it. I don't have a Tv in my bedroom. I can't see myself eating in bed staring at the walls Grin
Ha I don't have a TV in my bedroom either. The thought of eating in bed is just weird.
XenoBitch · 06/10/2021 23:01

I don't. I don't have a TV in my bedroom either. I tend to leave my bedroom when I get up and not enter it again until I go to bed.

Catcrazy83 · 06/10/2021 23:08

Bacon sandwiches on a Sunday morning in bed are lush

thebestnamesweregone · 06/10/2021 23:12

Occasionally
What's with the dozens of "crumbs in bed comments?"

I use a plate on a tray, my beds crumb free!

ClinkeyMonkey · 06/10/2021 23:15

Crisps, chocolate, wine - yes. Full three course meal - no.

WhatsMyNameAgain2 · 06/10/2021 23:16

Yes but it's my little secret! Outwardly I'm very respectable. But I work for myself and when my husband is at work and the youngest is at school ... well , let's just say I do what I fancy 😀

nancybotwinbloom · 06/10/2021 23:27

When my husband is working away and if my dd is at her DGP then yes every time. I lie on my bed like a teenager and watch tv and eat shit. So yes maybe about once every couple of months.

I love it.

AdoptedBumpkin · 06/10/2021 23:29

Pretty much never. Barely even a biscuit. I would tell DP off if he tried to!

PivotPivotPivottt · 06/10/2021 23:30

Occasionally stuff like sweets etc that don't produce crumbs. The only time I'll ever eat anything with crumbs is if I'm going to be changing the bed sheets that day.

SuperstarDog · 06/10/2021 23:30

Quite often. We’ve had a late dinner tonight separate from the kids so we took it to our bedroom with the intention of watching a film on the sofa but ended up eating and watching in bed as it’s comfier than the sofa.

MissCruellaDeVil · 06/10/2021 23:33

Only if I'm really ill, I prefer to curl up on the sofa if I don't want to eat at the table or on the breakfast bar.

Reallyimeanreally2022 · 07/10/2021 06:30

If you have children that aren’t very young ie you generally have dinner at same time, why would anyone be eating on bed?! Surely you eat together? Or do you do that all in your bed? Grin

Oblomov21 · 07/10/2021 06:36

No. Why would you wants crumbs in bed?

Camblewick · 07/10/2021 06:38

Not a meal, no. If I was unwell I might have toast or something at an absolute push but no, I'm not for eating in bed. Different strokes and all that I suppose.

OverByYer · 07/10/2021 06:38

Occasionally tea and toast but nothing else

LizziesTwin · 07/10/2021 06:39

No. Only ever did when either to ill to get up or if DC made me breakfast in bed.

OverByYer · 07/10/2021 06:39

I don’t have a tv in my bedroom either

likeacandleinthewind · 07/10/2021 06:45

No.

drpet49 · 07/10/2021 06:58

No, it is grim

DwangelaForever · 07/10/2021 07:15

In the winter if we are watching a box set in bed instead of the sofa we would sometimes have a takeaway in bed, mainly pizza but I have had Chinese takeaway in bed too, I just try to be careful! I don't see an issue with it.

HeronLanyon · 07/10/2021 07:56

Chinese takeaway - brave! Foolhardy ??? I would need a tray and picnic blanket and ground sheet/tarp if I ever had that urge. !!

reluctantbrit · 07/10/2021 07:59

When I am ill then toast with butter if I feel like eating at all.

When DD was smaller (so up to 8) we sometimes did breakfast in bed, changing the sheets afterwards. Nice but a bit too much fuss.

felulageller · 07/10/2021 08:30

Quite often.

Just sweep the sheets after.
