Do you ever eat in bed?

I don't mean like a cup of tea and biscuits.. Do you ever eat food in bed?
Every so often after a shite day of work I order a takeaway and eat it on my bed.. Before I go to bed I hoover up any crumbs and then put the sheets in the wash the following morning.. I'm not a messy eater but there's always invisible crumbs.

I used to, but once a mouse came, and ate through a box of Fererro Roche right next to my head, so not anymore.

HopeYourHighHorseBucks · 06/10/2021 20:25

Anytime I'm hungover. Which was a lot before kids, not so much now.

Wallopbang · 06/10/2021 20:25

I enjoy eating a bar of chocolate in bed at night whilst reading a book.

And have on occasion ordered pizza to eat in bed when very hungover. Very lazy of me but oh my goodness it was bliss Grin

HarrisMcCoo · 06/10/2021 20:28

Yes but only stuff like sweets, fruit, ice lollies. Never a meal.

Hillbillyhotel · 06/10/2021 20:30

Always. No justification for it other than that I prefer my bedroom to downstairs!

Strugglingtodomybest · 06/10/2021 20:30

Not in the evening, but I often have a bacon butty in bed at the weekend.

RealMckoi · 06/10/2021 20:33

Sometimes! If I do though it usually reflects a particularly shit/draining day

TumtumTree · 06/10/2021 20:34

No, never, it doesn't appeal tbh.

LizBennet · 06/10/2021 20:35

No, don't think I ever have 🤔 it would feel weird walking back upstairs with it (when I can slob on the sofa).

Laufeythejust · 06/10/2021 20:36

Sometimes if I’ve had a really bad day at work I go straight to bed with a pile of snacks. I hover my head over the side of the bed so any crumbs don’t land on the bed Grin then get up quick when I hear DPs car and pretend I’ve had a productive hour doing something in the house.

Squeakycatflap · 06/10/2021 20:37

Only when my husband tries to tempt me with a huge Magnum

TeamNegan · 06/10/2021 20:37

I eat in (or on, rather) my bed all the time. More often than not in fact! Never had an issue with crumbs or mess as usually have a tray. I love it because I like being able to lay down after Grin

SerenShine · 06/10/2021 20:38

Pizza in bed is a joyous thing 😋

Aquamarine1029 · 06/10/2021 20:41

No, it's gross.

Bluntness100 · 06/10/2021 20:41

No not at home never, but if I’m travelling for work I will sit on thr bed in a hotel room and eat rather than the little table chair provided. But I’ve never actually lain in my bed eating a meal or something and find the concept odd

delilahbucket · 06/10/2021 20:41

Definitely not, eugh. No food upstairs in our house full stop. There's enough cleaning to do without having to clean up bits of food upstairs.

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 06/10/2021 20:41

No - nobody in our house eats in their rooms. I am very glad we have a no food upstairs rule, especially considering how many parents of teens spend so much time bemoaning moulding plates and cups and other decaying food in their children's rooms, and am very happy to stick to the rules myself in the interests of not being a hypocrite.

Reallyimeanreally2022 · 06/10/2021 20:42

Never ever never
Not even in front of the tv!

All meals at the table. Rule applies to me and the children

SquigglePigs · 06/10/2021 20:43

Not generally. The only time I did was when I was pregnant (DH brought me toast otherwise I was sick if I moved before I ate) and when I was breast feeding a newborn (DH brought me snacks).

MargaretThursday · 06/10/2021 20:43

Sometimes, but the words from the children's book always go through my head "Mooch the messy liked a crunchy bed." Grin

needtogetfit21 · 06/10/2021 20:44

Yes! It's my 'comfort'. Order a takeaway then eat in bed. Those IKEA trays are fab and great for dh but I rarely make a mess

rrhuth · 06/10/2021 20:44

Yes when I feel like it. The kids never did have full meals, but not a rule.

MatildaIThink · 06/10/2021 20:47

I never eat any food in my bed or bedroom, I have never understood why someone would want to. I night have a glass of water at night, but no interest in drinking tea or coffee in bed either.

GoodnightGrandma · 06/10/2021 20:48

No. Not unless I’m ill enough to be stuck in bed.

fucknuckle · 06/10/2021 20:51

i live alone in a studio flat and watch tv from my bed in the evenings. i’ve had to make a rule for myself NOT to eat in bed as otherwise i snack all bloody night.

i might have xmas dinner in bed this year though.
