Policeman kicks 15 year old girl in the stomach

GreekTragedy · 01/10/2021 09:58

I couldn't see a thread about this so thought I'd start one.

I am completely shocked at this video.

This "officer" came out of nowhere and did a flying kick to a young girl!!

Now I can understand police getting a it violent in the heat of the moment but this? This is outright disgusting.

That officer should be charged.

What the fuck has happened to our police force??

Christ, he could have really caused her a huge amount of damage Sad

MrsRobbieHart · 01/10/2021 12:31

Any parent who doesn't tell their children that there will be consequences to being a dick is doing them a disservice IMO yes. Other people may not react well / proportionately / as you expect to you being a dick

Depending on the level of dick-ness, there will be varying consequences

If 'being a dick' means resisting arrest to a police officer and being aggressive to them, I would hope I have absolutely told them that that is never going to end well and I would not be defending their actions.

If this girl had not been acting like a dick, let's face it, this wouldn't have happened.

So not answering the question then. I’ll assume you have been kicking your children then.

ohfourfoxache · 01/10/2021 12:32

@JasonMomoasgirlfriend er, no - kicking doesn’t feature in police training Hmm

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 01/10/2021 12:33

And we all know what happens when people "assume".

hamstersarse · 01/10/2021 12:33

I’ll assume you have been kicking your children then.

Really? Is that the level of debate we are having. Okaaaaay.

Well, you refused to answer the question…

I don't know what the side eyes patronising emoji is all about.
If you aren't a police officer how the fuck are we meant to know what is ok and what's not ok?

Maybe that's the issue here. We literally have no idea of our rights in these like of situations

So many sad people now who won’t be joining the police.

ohfourfoxache · 01/10/2021 12:35

Well, you seem to know everything else so I’m astonished that something so basic can escape you

Pixilicious · 01/10/2021 12:35

I think you'll find she was attacking a police officer and helping her friend resist arrest. Are the police meant to just take that - seeing their colleague being attacked and not do anything. Get a grip, this is why society is going to shit in this country as people aren't held accountable for their shitty behaviour

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 01/10/2021 12:36

What's with the hostility? Jeez

I don't and don't claim to know everything. What a weird thing to post.

you didn't answer the question but chose to go on a victim blaming jaunt around the garden, therefore for in a debate you have opened yourself up for people to make assumptions about your answer.

MrsRobbieHart · 01/10/2021 12:38

No, they’re supposed to use approved restraint methods. You know the ones all the other police officers manage to use in identical and more dangerous situations?

Get a grip, this is why society is going to shit in this country as people aren't held accountable for their shitty behaviour

Yes, the country has gone to shit because the police aren’t allowed to kick drunk teenagers.

WormYourHonour · 01/10/2021 12:38

No, I'm trying to imagine what a police officer going into that situation might be thinking about all the possibilities??[/quote]
Yeah and split seconds before he booted her as hard as he can... You can see her shoe did come off... And as he booted her, she was trying to put her shoe back on..
I know you love screen shots so I'll attach one...

So a female and a male officer hop out of a van, female officer runs in to aid colleague with a teenage girl on the ground.
The 2nd teenage girl grabs the female.offocers hand and tries to pull.
Teen girl stumbles back shoeless.
Teen girl tries to put shoe back on..
As she is trying to put shoe on, male officer, who is 2 foot taller and several pounds heavier than teen girl.. could step in and restrain her arms, could step between the girl and the officers, could have run in and bear hugged the teen girl.. but instead, he kicks her very hard.. what a hero..

ohfourfoxache · 01/10/2021 12:38

Ffs

Seriously?

Can people not see that the police are permitted to use reasonable force

Reasonable force. Let that sink in.

Now, police are trained on reasonable force, what it is and how to do it. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t pleasant, it’s uncomfortable but it won’t do long lasting damage.

Fly kicking is not reasonable force. That turd could have done real damage and there is no excuse for it

What the fuck is it that some people just aren’t understanding??

fuckoffImcounting · 01/10/2021 12:39

That man is a disgusting thug and should be charged with ABH. The way the police treat women is absolutely abhorrent. That was a teenage girl he kicked in the stomach - possibly legally still a child - what fucking fine example of law enforcement. Sack him and lock him up.

BananaPB · 01/10/2021 12:39

If our homes are "invaded", we are expected to use proportionate force on the intruder. The kick was wildly outrageous - physically getting between the girl and the other officers would have probably stopped her "interfering" with the arrest.

I worry about the incidents not caught in video which will almost certainly outnumber the ones that we do see.

hamstersarse · 01/10/2021 12:39

I would think fair enough.

She was being a dick. And there are consequences to that in the real world.

Wow. Presumably (hopefully) you don’t have a daughter then? Because we’re all dicks at times. So you’ve kicked your daughter, or son even? For being a dick?

@MrsRobbieHart

I know you are picking out bits you want - and deliberately trying to be obtuse, but here goes on answering your question.

No. I don't kick my own children.

However, I believe that if they are behaving like dicks "out in the real world" then it is possible someone else might kick them

ohfourfoxache · 01/10/2021 12:40

Aw, back to “weird” again.

Cute.

SnakesandKnives · 01/10/2021 12:41

OTT by officer and definitely deserves disciplinary action of some sort.

But…why do the media always do this shit? It clearly wasn’t a flying kick and he didn’t kick her in the stomach (despite it being repeated on here several times). It wasn’t some sort of full-force karate kick, it was a shove using a foot and she fell hard as she was off balance from attacking the other police officers.

Totally wrong action by the officer in my view but why does it have to be so hyped up to be reported?

GreatPotato · 01/10/2021 12:41

I can't reconcile the idea that someone in Sarah Everard's position should question the validity of the arrest and presumably the public should support her to do so, with the idea that these girls get what they deserve for resisting arrest.

How do we know the difference?

MrsRobbieHart · 01/10/2021 12:41

When you look at how close she is to that scaffolding and the wall of the building he was really not making any risk assessment there at all. She could have been knocked unconscious if she hit the wall or seriously injured her spine if she had been thrown against the scaffolding.

StaplesCorner · 01/10/2021 12:42

So you can see from the posts on this thread defending the policeman assaulting that 15 year old that the situation in the Uk with attitudes to policing and within the police force itself are complex but the underlying theme is that people are "asking for it". Two stupid 15 year olds are drinking so they are "asking for it". "It" can be anything from being beaten up to rape and murder. The comments I'm reading here are the sort of thing you see if the read a Daily Mail article then scroll right down to the bottom of the page. People literally frothing at the mouth in delight that someone got what they consider was coming to them - and if that happens to be a young girl being kicked by a man then all the better.

These are the sorts of attitudes that allowed Couzens to remain in his job.
