Policeman kicks 15 year old girl in the stomach

I couldn't see a thread about this so thought I'd start one.

I am completely shocked at this video.

This "officer" came out of nowhere and did a flying kick to a young girl!!

Now I can understand police getting a it violent in the heat of the moment but this? This is outright disgusting.

That officer should be charged.

What the fuck has happened to our police force??

@ILoveJamaica

So much speculation going on here.

Not sure why there gender is relevant. Two aggressive people resisted the local plod. The coppers didn’t know if they were drunk, sober or on drugs. While one copper was grappling on the ground with a second assisting him a third copper ensured the other two were un impeded. Old mate could have had a knife - the copper needed to eliminate the possible threat and contain the melee. He did that. Well done, mate

Agreed. Got to love the Armchair critics who have never been in a life threatening situation. "Oh well, I would have done it this way". Why don't you join the Police and come back in a year and tell us how naive you were back in the day?

These girls were resisting arrest and actually attacking an Officer. If you do that, then please expect things to get physical, as there is literally no other option once you start bashing an Officer.

Drunk people are asked several times to go home before it even gets to this stage. Officers try to avoid arrests as much as possible, as it takes 2 Officers off the streets for several hours (lots of paper work), and it means that cells are occupied, which would be best saved for more serious offenders.

These girls will have been given multiple chances to calm down and go home. You conveniently don't see this in the film, as it's been cleverly chopped to whip up as much froth as possible from Joe Public - which as you can see here, has worked like a charm.

There was no other option than him kicking her? I fully expected that girl to be physically restrained and removed from the proximity of the other two officers. But I expected to see it done with approved police tactics. Are you saying that no police officer would have managed to deal with that situation using the techniques they were trained to use?

It wasn’t an arrest- it was a literal kicking.

These girls will have been given multiple chances to calm down and go home.

So when they don’t go home, official police training advises you kick them? Is that kick them all the way home?

TooBigForMyBoots · 01/10/2021 14:50

@ILoveJamaica

Love how this girl is being called a "victim" and a "child". She's pissed, screaming like a banshee and obstructing an Officer in the line of duty.
At 15 she is a child. And she's been assaulted by a police officer which makes her a victim.🤷‍♀️
StoatMilk · 01/10/2021 14:51

Appalling behaviour of that Police Officer doing the kicking. Also shocked at the First Officer wrestling the girl to the ground - am I right in thinking it was on suspicion of underage drinking? Why on earth did he take that course of action alone, why didn't he await assistance to deal with the situation rather than what appeared to be 'brawling'.

MrsRobbieHart · 01/10/2021 14:54

@ILoveJamaica how many people did you kick whilst on duty during your 5 years in the force?

MrsRobbieHart · 01/10/2021 14:55

I guarantee you this, if that police officer had been approaching the scene and witnessed the man who was filming kick the girl exactly the same way he’d have had to arrest him.

ohfourfoxache · 01/10/2021 14:57

@StoatMilk I can genuinely understand why the copper on the ground did what he did. If you look at him carefully you’ll see that he seemed to try to restrain her without actually hurting her

Fwiw I thought it was a really good example of how the police are supposed to restrain someone. For me it just shows the contrast between what the police should and shouldn’t do that much more sharply

SpindleWhirl · 01/10/2021 14:57

If this police officer is such a fucking hero, why did he report himself when he twigged he'd been filmed?

Feelslikealot · 01/10/2021 14:57

Not going to answer my question then jamaica?

She is a child. She's not even old enough to play the bloody lottery.

Pumperthepumper · 01/10/2021 14:58

Yes, and I wonder if he had noticed he was being filmed, if he’d maybe manage to control himself a bit better. I’d guess probably.
ducksalive · 01/10/2021 14:58

She's pissed, screaming like a banshee and obstructing an Officer in the line of duty.

This is all true.
The police officer who chose to do a flying kick at her stomach made her a victim.

He lost the moral authority with his behavior.
This is stuff I explain to my kids when one of them starts physically assaulting the other.
I expected a police officer to know this.

Feelslikealot · 01/10/2021 15:00

Exactly. Take the uniform off him and he would have been arrested. Because what he did was assault. I don't give a shit what a hard day he has had, or what he has to put up with. I know a police officer who goes home after he's had a hard day and beats up his cat. "kicks it around the room" in his wife's words. I guess that's ok, cos the cat doesn't know what he's had to put up with at work, poor little man.

MrsRobbieHart · 01/10/2021 15:03

Yeah, so arrest her. Hmm

ohfourfoxache · 01/10/2021 15:05

If an individual is unable to control themselves during the course of a “bad day” then they shouldn’t be doing the job. Simples.

Can you imagine teachers thumping kids in class? Or nurses battering patients?

We all have bad days, but that does not excuse behaving like a thug in a uniform

LizBennet · 01/10/2021 15:05

@Soubriquet

She may not have a sticker on her saying how old she is but she is literally half the size and weight of the police officer!!!
This. Jesus Tonight 🙄

I hope you've reported him to the RSPCA?
Feelslikealot · 01/10/2021 15:23

I did Unfortunately they wouldn't do anything as i had no evidence.

Soubriquet · 01/10/2021 15:27

I would be leaving my dh if he was booting my cat around the room. I don’t care what stress he’s under I won’t accept animal abuse

KatherineJaneway · 01/10/2021 15:45

Do we know any of the context around what was happening?

Pumperthepumper · 01/10/2021 15:49

@KatherineJaneway

Do we know any of the context around what was happening?
Yes, a police officer did a flying kick to the stomach of a fifteen year old. It’s in the video.
NewYearNewTwatName · 01/10/2021 15:50

what context do you need?

what circumstances other then what is seen in the video clip?

when is it ever ok to fly kick a child to the ground?

KatherineJaneway · 01/10/2021 15:51

Yes, a police officer did a flying kick to the stomach of a fifteen year old. It’s in the video.

I said what was the context, not what was in the video.

What context are you struggling with?
MrsRobbieHart · 01/10/2021 15:53

I’m trying to imagine what additional context would make this justified. I suppose if she had said to him earlier in the day “if you see me out later- fly kick me to the ground” but even so, she’s 15 so he shouldn’t really go along with that. Maybe it’s just a movie? Has anyone checked to see the they’re just stunt people? That would be additional context that might make it ok.

DameFanny · 01/10/2021 15:54

If you can think of some extreme combination of circumstances that provides context for the flying kick to be acceptable @KatherineJaneway, I'm sure one of the police cheerleaders will be on to tell us it absolutely happened Hmm

TooBigForMyBoots · 01/10/2021 16:02

The context is a misogynist, racist police force who cover up brutality at the hands of their officers.
