Policeman kicks 15 year old girl in the stomach

GreekTragedy · 01/10/2021 09:58

I couldn't see a thread about this so thought I'd start one.

I am completely shocked at this video.

This "officer" came out of nowhere and did a flying kick to a young girl!!

Now I can understand police getting a it violent in the heat of the moment but this? This is outright disgusting.

That officer should be charged.

What the fuck has happened to our police force??

@Feelslikealot

If ilovejamaica is or was a police officer i think we can safely assume that they are/ were one of the ones that are the problem.
It actually makes me sick - in my job I can be sacked for a number of things, I could be sacked for a data breach. I can’t imagine a situation where I’d not only watch a colleague of mine behaving so far away from what’s expected in my profession BUT ALSO trying to justify why they did it.

Honestly, I will never forget how the police force have behaved this week. I won’t - they should be fucking rioting in the streets just now at the idea these men walk among them. Instead it’s just endless ‘boo hoo, it’s such a hard job, sometimes we have to kick children’. Pathetic little cowards, I’m absolutely sickened.

MLMbotsno · 01/10/2021 14:17

@Gingernaut

She was attacking another officer who was restraining her friend.
This is true. She repeatedly attempted to stop the other officer arresting the other female. She then tried to stop the female officer assisting. However, the force seems excessive from the arriving officer, maybe a push back with his arms rather than a kick and then arrest her too.
Laiste · 01/10/2021 14:18

ILoveJamaica - I actually got fed up of dealing with so much shite on a daily basis, the same crap over and over and over. You can't comprehend it until you've lived it.

I wouldn't want to do the job either. Everyone has sympathy with someone leaving their job because it was too much for them.

What i don't have sympathy for is people in the job doing it wrong. For whatever reason.

TooBigForMyBoots · 01/10/2021 14:20

@ILoveJamaica I'm Shock that you were a police officer but dont know how to deal with belligerent drunks. Bar staff, door staff and police officers the length of the country do it on such a regular basis.

ILoveJamaica · 01/10/2021 14:21

Honestly, I will never forget how the police force have behaved this week

160,000 Officers? All of them? Hmm

ILoveJamaica · 01/10/2021 14:22

If you haven't seen a Bouncer use force to remove someone from a pub, I'm amazed.

knittingaddict · 01/10/2021 14:22

@hamstersarse

For those of you with children, maybe ask yourselves how you would feel if that Officer on the ground was your daughter or son - would you want a colleague to rush in and get the girl off them?

Such is the blindness on this thread, the police are literally not seen as sentient humans anymore. Apparently they should just take the shit they get on an everyday basis without question!

Who said that? I don't think that at all, but the culture within the police needs an overhaul and that won't happen if both the police and the general public accept this standard of policing. There's nothing wrong with pointing out unprofessional behaviour or do you think there is?
WitchButNotTheFunKind · 01/10/2021 14:22

Wow glad he was caught on camera that was excessive force whoever he\’d have done that to.

They are clearly teens, if they were in a bar underage drinking fine the bar who served then. Arresting a teenage girl for underage drinking is way over the top especially when you consider the crimes that don’t warrant a police presence anymore.

Yes all of them. Where are they? Are they rioting? Are them demanding change?
TedImgoingmad · 01/10/2021 14:24

Can you answer my question @ILoveJamaica? Or at least admit that your speculation that these girls were known/potential knife carriers is bull.

I think also, you cutting that post there to whine further about how nobody is being nice to you shows a lot about your character as a police officer. What a coward.
ducksalive · 01/10/2021 14:28

I have a lot of sympathy for the police, I worked with them a lot in child protection.
They end up picking up the slack from underfunded mental health and social work services.
The vast majority do a decent job.

But this isn't a decent job, it is a totally unacceptable response to an annoying but hardly dangerous situation.
That bloke is simply in the wrong job because he cannot safely assess risk under pressure, isn't able to be proportionate in his physical responses and poses a threat to the public as a result.

NewYearNewTwatName · 01/10/2021 14:29

If you haven't seen a Bouncer use force to remove someone from a pub, I'm amazed

well now we are back to reasonable force aren't we?

I have never seen a bouncer fly kick anyone in the abdomen area, knocking them flying to the floor.

you have already admitted it is not part of police policy or training, so are you still defending this inappropriate behaviour?

Laiste · 01/10/2021 14:29

There are lots of police officers who post on MN.

I'd be interested to see more of them give their opinion on this thread.

So would I.
Feelslikealot · 01/10/2021 14:31

These girls were resisting arrest and actually attacking an Officer. If you do that, then please expect things to get physical, as there is literally no other option once you start bashing an Officer

So... You're actually defending this police officer running in and kicking this girl? Just so we are clear, you think this was a reasonable thing to do?

BoredZelda · 01/10/2021 14:36

Won't somebody please protect us from the slightly tipsy teenage girls?

Yes, these cause not trouble at all, do they. None whatsoever, they just sit and giggle in the corner, don’t they. 🙄

DameFanny · 01/10/2021 14:37

@Porfre

She doesnt have a sticker on her that days her age. From the footage you cant tell how old she is. And you dont know what the Offocer who kicked her saw. Literally before she was kicked she was attacking the other Police Officer's head. If I was her parent I'd be ashamed at how my child behaved and be down on them like a ton of bricks to make sure nothing like this happened again.

Shes lucky she in the UK if you call that Police brutality.

If I were your parent @Porfre I'd be ashamed of your low standards, lack of empathy and victim blaming.
HemanOrSheRa · 01/10/2021 14:40

@user1497207191

I managed to last about 3 years in the police back in the late 1980s. Arrogant/abusive officers aren't anything new. It's what drove me out after such a short time. I loved the job, but I hated some of the people I had to work with.
My sister joined the police force in 1994. She was 18 and it was all she had ever wanted to do. She resigned after a couple of years too for the same reason.
Soubriquet · 01/10/2021 14:42

She may not have a sticker on her saying how old she is but she is literally half the size and weight of the police officer!!!

MrsRobbieHart · 01/10/2021 14:43

No, I wouldn't think it appropriate but I would think it is a possibility they should consider before acting like a dick

Thanks for responding. So you agree it was inappropriate for the police officer to kick the child.

ILoveJamaica · 01/10/2021 14:46

Love how this girl is being called a "victim" and a "child". She's pissed, screaming like a banshee and obstructing an Officer in the line of duty.

Soubriquet · 01/10/2021 14:47

She is a victim!. She got kicked by a grown fucking man who is supposed to have training on how to handle these types of situations

Pumperthepumper · 01/10/2021 14:47

So?
ohfourfoxache · 01/10/2021 14:49

@ILoveJamaica do you think that the copper who kicked her used reasonable force?

Is kicking included in your restraint training?

Is kicking ever recommended?
