I'm surprised there are no threads on this, there were loads about ant mcpartlin.

I have no sympathy for drink/drug driving but it's so sad the way her life has turned out. I hope she can sort herself out.

isn'y Harvey at Star college? if so he will be fine. its a term time residential college. parents don't visit every week (I didn't) as the students are so busy. its really like university life for young people with disabilities. the staff there will support an care for him.

I can't believe the sympathy on here for her. On Mumsnet of all places where you are a TERRIBLE parent if you enjoy the odd dabble in coke or weed, or if you have a few glasses of wine on a Friday evening while your kids are asleep upstairs.

Not KP though, no. She's the only parent in the world struggling with mental health problems.

I think the law should throw the book at her, and if it doesn't it is guilty of playing a part in enabling her to continue in this way. She has too many 'yes' people around her as it is. Will it take her to kill someone before she is finally handed an appropriate sentence? The way in which these celebs get away with murder potentially literally makes a total mockery of our justice system.

I think she "wants" to be a good mother and loves her children but wanting to be and actually being are different.

Those talking about the cost of the priory, I assume she has health insurance which the official receiver will allow you to pay for during bankruptcy.

I don't believe any of us know what it's like to be KP. I don't think I've ever seen a genuine expression of happiness across her face. She needs spiritual fix urgently, a few weeks in a centre will dry her out but won't offer what she needs long term.

The kids clearly need to be with their dads, which I believe they are. But where does that leave poor Harvey. Conversations around KP and Harvey never focus enough on the absolute bastard excuse for a father who has never been there for them. How different their lives may have been with a proper father/ partner figure from way back then.

I don't really know what the answer is for her but if she won't commit to getting better then I can't see what option there is but prison time. That way at least everyone else is kept safe from her driving etc.

She needs to do the hard work, AA/abstinence, being single, sorting her finances... I hope she can because this feels like last chance.

Exactly Katie needs to be given a jail sentence as a short sharp shock treatment The reality is that she could have killed herself and others. She drove while banned and under the influence of drink and drugs, she needs to be punished .

I have zero sympathy for her. She knew she wasn't fit to drive and could have killed someone. I hope she gets treatment for her addiction but I also hope the children's fathers go for dull custody. She's an unfit parent.

When she gets out of jail (where she really should go) I hope she disappears into the obscurity she deserves.

I’m tired of being told I can’t judge people who do things that could kill others. Or that I can’t judge parents that do drugs around their children. Sorry, I judge them.

What makes her any better than other people who are rightly vilified when they initiate revenge porn on an ex partner?

KP is a nasty bully to anyone she dislikes but demands we all ‘be nice’ when she’s experiencing something negative.

I find it interesting that people still trot out the “she’s a good mother” line. No doubt she loves her kids but that does not make her a good mother. She is a self-obsessed drug abuser who has made countless bad/ reckless choices and exposed her kids to a revolving door of unsuitable and abusive men. I hope the kids are kept well away from her for their own sake and can get some stability with their dads. Whilst she spends 10s of thousands that she technically shouldn’t have as she claims to be bankrupt at yet another stay in rehab to avoid going to jail.

Social services should be involved and protect kids
Harvey is an adult now
She has money to spend on getting paid help with her kids, home and life

Very different options to the rest of us mere mortals who don’t get our tits and bits out for cash!

The bbc says she’s going to go for treatment at the priory.

Meanwhile she’s going through bankruptcy.

Wonder how she will pay the tens of thousands of pounds for the priory. And what tradesmen who have, say, worked on her house and paid for the parts to repair her plumbing or whatever, won’t get paid as she will be bankrupt.

Yet she can find the money to get treatment in order to avoid jail. Funny that.

Going through bankruptcy, but sue was in Turkey or somewhere the other day having her extensions done, and not long before that some face fillers or something.

She's also still driving big expensive cars, keeps horses and so on.....

I feel sad for Katie Price and her children. She deserves and needs a custodial sentence, of course. It’s still sad though, her endless cycle of bad men and poor decisions. The latest ‘man’ was just one of the worst…. all the awful recent YouTube videos they did together with big white fake teeth, talking coked up bullshit, the horrible surgery (with the accompanying pics I mean wtf?!). I can’t imagine any decent man being complicit in this , especially when the woman involved is a mum of five children Sad.
Still. I like Katie, and for her sake I hope she finds some peace where she live a clean sober life in the future surrounded by kids and horses and zero men.

Who knows what Dwight Yorke is up to?
She is under the spotlight all the time, it must be so hard but then again, she wants the spotlight, it’s like self harming nearly.

I really hope someone can help her. I think she should start praying. Not saying that in a smart way, I think she could really turn her life around if she does.

I think both her and KK and Daniella westbrook, from what I've read have had abusive and dysfunctional backgrounds before they were famous. Becoming famous (and popular) was probably like an escape.
But really they are all in a toxic and abusive long term relationship with the press/media.

She’s obviously very troubled and has leaned on drugs and alcohol to self medicate leading her to make some pretty crappy decisions. This is not uncommon and hopefully she’ll get some (more) help and find a better path in the future.

There isn't a line that says if you're not a rapist or murderer you're not a terrible person Hmm

She is could easily have killed someone driving under the influence. She had a choice, many choices, and still makes bad decisions

KP is a terrible person. Every single time she gets pissed/coke'd up and gets behind the wheel of a car, which she has done so many times, she has the potential to kill.

Just because she may have experienced past trauma does not excuse her from this abhorrent behaviour.

I experienced significant childhood abuse in many forms. I have never EVER drove whilst under the influence of alcohol.

No excuses. Mental illness/trauma/self esteem issues or not, KP is fully accountable for her behaviour.

KP is not a good mother and she is an appalling role model to her children.

It's time she invested money in sorting out her 'issues' instead of spending more money on her appearance, which, let's face it, has not improved her looks at all.

When I was in the Priory the number of NHS-funded patients outnumbered those self-funding or using health insurance so it could be how the rehab is being funded?

I agree that it should be a custodial sentence - this has happened far too often.

She’s never bothered with such trivialities as car insurance so health insurance seems a stretch.
Even if she had it the list of exclusions would be huge.

Absolutely agree. I've never understood the love for KP or how she's a 'great businesswoman'. She figured out flashing her surgically enhanced tits and shagging various z list celebs garnered money and headlines. Wow. Slow clap. She's an appalling role model for her kids, she jumps from man to man. She's going bankrupt but can afford various surgeries.

People on here were baying for Ant McPartlin's blood and that he should never be allowed back on the tv, but it's okay for the likes of KP and Katona as they have past 'ishoos'.

Hope they lock her up and upon release make her meet families whose lives have been wrecked by drink drivers.
