I'm surprised there are no threads on this, there were loads about ant mcpartlin.

I have no sympathy for drink/drug driving but it's so sad the way her life has turned out. I hope she can sort herself out.

OP posts:
Jagley · 29/09/2021 23:32

I don't have sympathy for her anymore. As for being a good mother, I don't agree at all, a good mother doesn't get drugged up and drive illegally putting herself and others at risk.
There's no reason she couldn't get a train and taxi to visit Harvey on a weekend. The star college is amazing and he will be being well looked after. Hopefully this accident will give him a break from the media, they've been filming him at college, quite why he can't be left alone is beyond me.

InaccurateDream · 29/09/2021 23:37

She needs some consequences.

theturtleshead · 29/09/2021 23:39

Why did the court withdraw the charge of driving while on drugs? Was she beneath the legal limit?

I'd imagine that further charges would come when bloods are back maybe?

@GertietheGherkin

I have no sympathy for Katie, that has long since gone. Every guy she meets is 'the one', her kids are used as props and for media attention. Poor Harvey times she's used him to her advantage, knowing full well it'll subject him to vile abuse and ridicule online. She's been in and out of the Priory but never actually undertakes fully any programmes or procedures they implement, she drops in and out when she chooses. That isn't getting proper care.

Her bankruptcy hearings are a joke, she pleads poverty and is then pictured on elaborate and exotic holidays, and buying mountains of useless tat for her kids, or buying expensive gifts for whichever guy she's latched on to.

Nobody else would get away with such behaviour, she's constantly sticking two fingers up to the law and her lifestyle is driven mostly by her self-centred and selfish behaviour. This needs to stop. Nobody else would be able to carry on as she does, she's not above the law.

This exactly, the woman is on a downward spiral and has been for a number of years. I feel sorry for her children having different men paraded before them and the kids used in front of the cameras for her own personal gain. A good Mother doesn't drink, snort cocaine and then drive whilst banned. If she cared for her kids she would grow up and stop trying to be 21. She won't get a custodial sentence, her legal team will see to that. The people I feel sorry for are her kids, especially the older ones who are on social media and have to watch their Mothers car crash of a life .
Fizbosshoes · 29/09/2021 23:51

I think she has had psychological problems for a long time but someone (manager, agent, advisor...?) must be making a lot of money by advising or encouraging her to play out all her MH issues in public/for the media.

ginandbearit · 29/09/2021 23:56

I worked at the Priory and similar re habs ...80% failure rate , the clients say what you want to hear till.they get home, most have a toxic mix of self pity and arrogance and pick up where they left off ...she's another Paul Gascoigne in some ways , an inability to grow up and lead a dull adult life without constant drama .. Maybe a spell in Bronzefield will help but I doubt it .

ChequerBoard · 29/09/2021 23:59

@theturtleshead

Why did the court withdraw the charge of driving while on drugs? Was she beneath the legal limit?

The newspaper reports say they withdrew the drug driving charge because she admitted the drink driving and other offences.

NowEvenBetter · 29/09/2021 23:59

Reprehensible and unjustifiable behaviour to get banned from driving six times and still snort coke and get behind a wheel to go and buy more cocaine. Her many kids are hopefully in therapy already. What a shitshow.

@ginandbearit what does work from your experience?
OrangeJuiceAndNoodles · 30/09/2021 00:05

I don't really understand her life. Bankrupt but constantly off to Turkey for more surgery.

She's a sex symbol, but releases unflattering pictures (like the one of her minus her veneers).

She's a good mum, but she's on drugs, obsessed with being in a relationship and walks around topless in front of her kids?

And the law seemingly doesn't apply to her.

Confusing.

toomuchlaundry · 30/09/2021 00:09

If this was any other mum at the school gates and you knew what we know about KP we wouldn’t be saying she was a good mum we would, hopefully, be reporting her to the safeguarding lead at school

ginandbearit · 30/09/2021 00:19

Almost nothing ...sounds harsh I know..I have seen a sudden epiphany and an overnight realisation ..Ive seen that a few times....AA can work too but there is almost an addiction to being an addict which doesnt matter as long as you are keeping clean , but ..and I know I sound jaded ( cos I am ) ..many many people in this situation are stuck in a form of adolescence, with poor impulse control , self pity is a biggy , entitlement and another major factor is boredom ...seriously!
What has worked ? Get a dog..or a bloody goldfish ..something that depends onyou to be sorted ..again seriously dogs and cats and other pets have saved more lives than you might think ...but sadly over the years Ive seen many many people have evey treatment thrown at them ,families exhausted and bankrupted just to see their loved one die in squalor . I always said to the families that there is no magic wand, what works today may not work tomorrow, protect yourselves and be prepared to let the person go their own way to absolute misery .

Im not making light of addiction but there are so many causes and triggers and sometimes , but often the cause is in the person themselves not external events or history .

BreadInCaptivity · 30/09/2021 00:22

I think she's a very troubled soul whose lived for so long as a caricature of herself for reality TV that she's lost any sense of self and self preservation.

Drama makes money. Money fuels drama.

She's surrounded by people who encourage this MO because they benefit from it.

Do I think she should go to prison? Yes.

She's a danger to others and herself and has only got away with multiple bans thanks to expensive lawyers and half hearted attempts to rehabilitate.

I think prison might be what she needs. A dose of actual reality, rather than reality TV, removed from the people surrounding her and forced to commit to rehab (not just a 2 week holiday at the Priory where she knows the ropes).

Rock bottom as they say, is often where people need to go before they find the resolve to commit to change.

earsup · 30/09/2021 00:32

Time to jail her....no idea how she got away with previous offences....she is on the payroll of a tabloid so they need her stories....she is meant to be bankcrupt but always on holidays, new teeth etc etc and expensive bags and clothing....she is a con.

ChristmasPlanning · 30/09/2021 00:41

@ginandbearit thank you for te insight. I'm fortunate to not know anyone who is addict (to my knowledge) so has no idea rehab success rates were so low
Starlightstarbright1 · 30/09/2021 02:57

Do i think she loves her kids yes, but she idisn'a good mum. She cannot prioritise her children .

I feel for her kids

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 30/09/2021 05:16

@TonyThreePies

There was a blind, earlier this year I think, that a famous mum of 5 was about to have her kids taken into care because of her partying and they were trying to get their dads to step in and take them. It was said at the time it was likely Katie. So it seems this is not a new thing. Especially as if others have said she's been seen driving about while banned. How has she not been seen driving by the press or the police before this accident happened? Perhaps this is her low point and she will take rehab seriously. I don't know what will happen to her if she doesn't, I don't think it will end well.
The older children have been with Pete for years. This sounds like sensationalism.
PippaOwl · 30/09/2021 06:22

I hope all the bleeding hearts on here were equally sympathetic to Ant Mcpartlin a couple of years ago?

Cascascascas · 30/09/2021 06:51

@Twinstudy

She clearly has mental health issues.
But rather than working then is posting in instagram on her new holiday.

She has had many chances.

Sorry but it’s time for jail.

Mintyt · 30/09/2021 07:37

@MaybeAMoaner well said, she need to go to prison for this like we would

Deathraystare · 30/09/2021 07:44

*Her life hasn’t just “turned out” this way as though these things just happen to her.

She causes these things to happen through her own actions.*

Exactly. Imagine if someone else too drugs and had drunk before they got behind a wheel and then ran over/killed one of her children????

She needs time away from men to sort herself out. I feel so sorry for her children and her mum. Around and around she goes - new man, then he leaves or more likely she gets rid of him, the plastic surgery (again and again), then holiday.

trama · 30/09/2021 07:51

I think she does love her children, but that doesn't make her a good mother, which is about more than love; they need boring things like stability and someone setting a good example for them.

She very clearly doesn't care about the law. Perhaps harsh but I don't particularly care about how 'troubled' someone is when they choose to get behind the wheel under the influence.

Bagelsandbrie · 30/09/2021 07:53

It takes more than love to be a good parent.

She is a danger to herself and others. I hope she gets the help she needs for everyone’s sake.

Starlightstarbright1 · 30/09/2021 07:58

Prisons are full of people with mh and drug problems.. i am yet to see a sympathetic post for them..
