I'm home alone today and except for whatsapping my friends have nothing to do with this incandescent rage and hopeless sadness.

Anyone else need to talk? Sad

@pelosi i don't know , because they prob just have to for other children, but I am sure they never get over it
Also how do parents of murders feel , children , wifes etc many many lives have been ruined by this awful person

pelosi · 29/09/2021 20:43

If only she hadn't been so trusting but she must have thought she was doing the right thing by complying...

I agree with @wewereliars, she wasn’t trusting, she did what any of us would have done, submit to an arrest by an actual policeman. She was handcuffed. She may have read in the news about the two women surrounded by police for going for a walk 5 miles from their home. She was acting based on the atmosphere of the time, which was fear of breaking the law.

Bagelsandbrie · 29/09/2021 20:44

@SkinnyMirror

Because it was done by someone who is supposed to protect women. Why is that hard to understand?

Exactly. And she was doing everything we are told to do to keep ourselves safe.
It exposed the fact that none of that makes a blind bit of difference and it's frightening.

This. All those things people say women should do to protect themselves is just an illusion. And victim blaming. It makes people feel more comfortable because it allows them to think these things will never happen to them. It’s always someone else’s nightmare.
wewereliars · 29/09/2021 20:44

Capital punishment has no deterrent effect, that's been proved time and time again.

LexMitior · 29/09/2021 20:45
@TooBigForMyBoots don't tell me what i can or cannot post , like i said the victim also has male family members are you saying they should be taking blame too
I can post what I like as can you , so don't think you are better , the monthers of women who murder likely feel the same as well, don't minimise the fact that some women also commit henious crimes, for one we don't know the sex of the officers who called him names are either
Yes men need to step up but branding half the population doesn't help
Calling for tougher sentences would be a start , like the flashing incident if this was highlighted as a serious crime also maybe he wouldn't of been able to do what he had done
Well there are many males who commit murder every year. How many women do?

Men need to step up give over with that- low bloody standards they have it seems if they can't avoid taking steroids, making jokes about rape, ignoring serious sexual crimes, using extreme pornography and with a nice badge to give authority over people.

Yes a male problem, and one that most will just stare at their shoes about because they have their own guilt about sex and women. Pathetic.

LexMitior · 29/09/2021 20:46
@LexMitior oh I'm sorry that me being outraged by this horrific crime offends you so much that you wonder what kind of a person I am... more to the point what kind of person are you based on your line of thinking?

Do you really think I'm the only person in the UK to be in favour of Capital punishment being brought back for exceptionally gruesome crimes? Wake up please and just read any News site / forum and that will tell you the opinions of the majority of the population...
Well you want apparently to get some special torture for this guy? What kind of person thinks like that? A good person or a person who has a seriously odd idea about justice.

pelosi · 29/09/2021 20:47

@wewereliars

Capital punishment has no deterrent effect, that's been proved time and time again.
It seems because they think can get away with it.

It’s baffling how a police officer thought he could get away with it by using a hire car to kidnap her.

Did he not think about the fact that there are cameras everywhere in London?

It’s sheer arrogance and narcissism.

theThreeofWeevils · 29/09/2021 20:48

It's well known that Capital punishment acts as a deterrent from serious crimes... it works very well in other countries...
No; it is a popular delusion that capital punishment acts as a deterrent. Quite apart from the disbenefits it brings to a society.

@CityCommuter

What happened to Sarah is the most horrific crime in recent times. She was such a beautiful girl with a kind and trusting soul and had so much to live for and was brought up well with a loving family. If only she hadn't been so trusting but she must have thought she was doing the right thing by complying...

This is the one time that an exception should be made in UK law to ensure that the death penalty is brought back in the UK to immediately deal with this monster of a thing who cannot be called human in any way, shape or form. Hanging done slowly for him preferably. Otherwise many people would gladly offer to set fire to him while he's still alive to make sure he suffers... People feel so strongly about this case and will continue to be outraged about it until the law changes. It's well known that Capital punishment acts as a deterrent from serious crimes... it works very well in other countries...

That's not going to happen and every murder of a man, woman or child deserves the same punishment.

I am not sure who you think will set fire to him or watch him burn slowly??

It is an horrific crime, but worse than Millie Dowler, Rachel Nickel, the victims of Denis Nielsen?

they are all horrific.

LowbrowVictoriana · 29/09/2021 20:50

Utter bollocks.

wewereliars · 29/09/2021 20:51

Yes, narcissism and the intoxication / excitement of the plot he was engaged in maybe.

He also forgot about his phone being able to be used via triangulation to track his whereabouts. I would guess he had got away with A LOT already, this was escalation.

Offmyfence · 29/09/2021 20:51

*watch him hang slowly

ZimZamZoom · 29/09/2021 20:51

@MotherofTerriers

The met can choose not to see him as a police officer. But every lone woman will see a police officer as a potential Wayne Couzens
Hadn't thought of it like that until I read your post but that's so true. And sad.
oakleaffy · 29/09/2021 20:52

@Bunnycat101

The Met has to do something. I would want to see a proper investigation into him and what his fellow officers knew. Anything less and trust will be non existent.

I don’t believe that was the first time he did something either. I can’t see how he could go from flashing to deception, kidnap and murder. I would almost guarantee he had raped before if not killed someone else.

I agree. hunting a vulnerable woman down {and all women are vulnerable at the hands of men, as like it or not, we aren't as strong physically as them} Some from of self defence training? But would that have worked for Sarah, who thought she was being ''Arrested''...This beast is beyond repulsive. He needs his genitals removing , or at least chemical castration, and never being allowed out in the society of women and girls ever again.
Furiousfive · 29/09/2021 20:53

I can't stop thinking about it and what she must have suffered when she realised where they were going and that she was handcuffed so didn't have a hope of getting away :(. That cowardly bastard abusing his power. And he took his family on a picnic there afterwards, like he was reliving it

MrsRobbieHart · 29/09/2021 20:53

Is it not the case that capital punishment increases the likelihood of an attacker killing their victim due the risk of being identified and reported?

NewBeginning39 · 29/09/2021 20:55

Just absolutely heartbreaking, I sobbed after reading the victim statements made by her parents. I can’t begin to imagine the terror poor Sarah felt upon realising what was happening and the pain her family will continue to go through for the rest of their lives. I hope he rots.

LexMitior · 29/09/2021 20:56

If just motivated by sexual deviancy, it used to be that sex offenders killed children and women to avoid detection and to keep them silent. Horrific.

But this man planned it, renting his car, lining it with carpet, right down the place he took her. He wasn't deterred by life in prison. He thought he'd never be caught.

Itsbeen84yearss · 29/09/2021 20:56

They’re going to need more women on the force after this I think. Women won’t trust policemen

Offmyfence · 29/09/2021 20:57

Do you think that he may have other victims? I have wondered that he may have.
RaptorOnATractor · 29/09/2021 20:58

I've not been able to stop thinking about Sarah and her family all day. The details of what has come out is gut wrenching.. I can't even contemplate how scared she must have been as her fate dawned on her. Couzens lived a few minutes walk from me, and it just drives home how fucking vulnerable we all are, which in turn makes me so fucking angry. Especially at the institutions like the police. And then the telegraph including quotes of what a 'lovely man' etc he was - go fuck yourselves. I have so much respect to Sarah's family for looking that monster in the eye and telling him the impact he's had on them. And I'm so sorry for them.

FatAnkles · 29/09/2021 20:59

I live about five miles from where Sarah was kidnapped. I'm angry. I'm angry at her killer and I'm angry at the Met Police.

Her killer pre-planned this. He was on the hunt for his victim. He did unspeakable things to Sarah and my heart breaks for her family who were in court listening to some horrible things...how difficult it must have been for them. And how brave they were, reading their statements. The killer abused his power.

I am angry at the Met. They are still institutionally racist, they still police with prejudice, and they give not two shits when women want to complain about sexual assault. Cressida Dick, a woman who has benefited from her incompetence, has made friends in high places to stay at the top. (I refer, of course, to her actions in the run up to Jean Charles de Menezes death) We are meant to believe that because a woman is in charge, that she has women's interests at heart. She does not.

The same police force who recruited, trained and gave a job to Sarah's killer then kettled women and beat them at a vigil in her honour.

Today the Met put out a Twitter message distancing themselves from Sarah's killer. I was fucking outraged.

What has Dick or anyone else done to change how they recruit officers? What have they done to stop predators, thugs, thieves and fraudsters from joining up? What the HELL are the Met doing to stop these pricks from harming women? Fuck all, is what.

I don't trust the police. My teenage DD doesn't trust them. If a police officer arrests either one of us, will we be safe? I don't know.

CityCommuter · 29/09/2021 21:00

"Well you want apparently to get some special torture for this guy? What kind of person thinks like that? A good person or a person who has a seriously odd idea about justice"

@LexMitior so you think justice is having that monster living in luxury and being treated with respect in prison for a few years? The only one who's seriously odd is you and you already know that... You're just one of those people who's always looking for a fight...

wewereliars · 29/09/2021 21:01

and the hire car was booked in his own name, so maybe he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer

Bagelsandbrie · 29/09/2021 21:02

Completely agree. I seriously doubt this was the first of his crimes. I think they need to start looking at unsolved murders and rapes again and seeing if he can be linked to any of them.
