I think a Jamie Dornan is a good shout, but it may be a relative unknown.

Ten years ago my money would have been on Idris Elba, but I think his optimum age has passed.

DS is convinced Rege-Jean Page as straight after the trailer for Bond is the new Audi trailer with him in it ... although I think I read somewhere he is in a new version of The Saint.

Harry Styles is an excellent actor but possibly too young.

I agree with your DS, Rege-Jean Page does seem to channel Bond in the Audi ad and particularly so towards the end.

I think Ashley Walters would be good, about the right age and a good mixture of sass and fun.

I remember some people saying Idris wasn't "British" enough to be Bond.. I feel like Ashley would be discounted for the same reasons. But I would love him in that role. Also really liked Noel Clarke, BEFORE the harassment charges came out obviously.

I would prefer if they created another female character in the Bond universe and give her a separate origins/back story that is actually completely original and unique.

It seems like they are half way they in the new film anyway with the introduction of Lashana Lynch's character.

Richard Madden is too short. What about Poldark?

Annoyingly, Aiden Turner isn't tall either. In Poldark they had to get him a smaller horse as apparently he looked like a boy riding the original horse.

I made the school girl error of informing DH about this and he now thinks it amusing to always refer to him as 'Little Aiden'

I’d pay actual money to see Tom Ellis as Bond.

The guy from Bridgerton would be my choice. I would have said Adrian Lester but I think he is too old now, sadly.

Rene-Jean Page is just far too beautiful. He'd be more beautiful than any of his female co stars.

It's got to be someone with smoulder, depth, complicated but wears life lightly...sense of humour (Craig never ever had)

No one! I think Bond will be killed off in No Time to Die. They may have another 007 but James Bond as a character will be no more. Plus how can you top Daniel? Best Bond by a country mile.
