What did you do for your 30th?

I’ll be 30 in April and I like to go all out for birthdays so need to plan well in advance especially as it’s over the Easter holidays. There’s so many options but I’m a bit stuck for ideas.

Keen to hear what others did for their 30th.

I went to Australia, not sure that's much help to you as their borders will likely still be closed next April!

Brollywasntneededafterall · 24/09/2021 18:52

I was 8 months pregnant and wasn't going to do anything.. Then I won a meal for 2 - on a radio quiz while ironing - at a nice restaurant so went out!!

Chunkymenrock · 24/09/2021 18:55

I can't remember, had a 3 month old baby so probably just slept!

I had a huge party, long before it became the norm to have a 30th bash.

I've since had my 40th where I did nothing, and I'll very soon be 50, which I plan on celebrating with DH in the Bahamas.

toolazytothinkofausername · 24/09/2021 18:56

I'll message you.

WhyOhWhyOhWhyyyy · 24/09/2021 18:57

A wine tasting tour of Tuscany with DH. Absolutely amazing birthday!

DentalWorries · 24/09/2021 18:58

Ooohh the Bahamas sounds promising. I did Australia a few years ago and loved it but I’m not sure I’d be rushing to do that journey again anytime soon even if we were allowed.

Got engaged 🥰

DH took me away to Cornwall to stay in these lovely holiday cottages and there was a spa etc! Also found out I was pregnant so DH had to change all my spa bookings

Pinkplums · 24/09/2021 18:59

Nothing, I was 30 weeks pregnant and it was lockdown 😔

LukeEvansWife · 24/09/2021 19:00

Nothing at all. Spent the day/evening on my own.

Goingbackto5oh5 · 24/09/2021 19:01

I have mine coming up in a couple of weeks! If all goes to plan I'll be abroad enjoying the sun Smile I don't really celebrate birthdays but my 20s have been very tumultuous so thought I'd start my 30s in a positive way.

hiptobeasquare · 24/09/2021 19:02

My best friend was massively pregnant for my thirtieth so to make sure she could join in I had an 80s style sleep over with six of my closest friends. I have everyone a little goodie bag( flannel, face mask, lip balm, sweets from my childhood like wham bars, a vintage my little pony each and a tiny terrapin kinder egg toy. I scoured eBay for the last two).
We watched movies I loved as a child/teen had pop corn hot chocolate played some stupid games and just chilled.
I also recreated the snack boxes my mam made for one of my birthdays including the twisty lid drinks.
Honestly, it was loads of fun.

Stevearnottsbeard · 24/09/2021 19:02

Got absolutely wasted and didn't get in til 5.30, night included a very lovely respectable meal with family/friends followed by gatecrashing a private hotel function then some how getting access to the private hotel bar. A trip to A&E for somebody with us and then eventually waking up on my friends sofa!!! 😂 😂 😂 I'm now late 30's and never had another night like it!! 🤣🤣🤣

CattingT · 24/09/2021 19:04

Left the country with DH so nobody could trick me into having a party or surprise me. Grin

Mirrorxx · 24/09/2021 19:06

It was lockdown so not much

elQuintoConyo · 24/09/2021 19:06

Long weekend in Venice with future DH. Then dinner and dancing with mates in Barcelona (but I did live there Grin ) That was a looong time ago!

confusedlots · 24/09/2021 19:07

I was in a relationship which I knew wasn't right for me, but I hadn't quite come to terms with ending it. So I booked a mad trip on my own to climb a mountain in Africa, met some great people and had a blast with total strangers. Then came home and split up with my boyfriend. My 30th was definitely a turning point for me and life just got better after that!

HungryHippo11 · 24/09/2021 19:08

I sat in the garden with 5 friends in the freezing cold because it was March this year.

Jigsawprison · 24/09/2021 19:08

Nothing had week old twins.

LukeEvansWife · 24/09/2021 19:09

Planning seven months in advance does seem a bit extreme though!Grin

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 24/09/2021 19:10

Had it quietly at home because I had 2 small DC!

m0therofdragons · 24/09/2021 19:13

I was planning New York but had 6 month old twins and a 4yo so went to euro Disney instead. Still can’t quite work out why we thought 6 month old twins at Disney would be a good idea but actually worked well as they slept or sat up in the buggy. We did New York for my 35th instead.

RosesAndHellebores · 24/09/2021 19:16

I cried. Wasn't married, didn't have children. 31 years on and life picked up. Had met dh though.

oldestmumaintheworld · 24/09/2021 19:17

Had a birthday party and met my future husband

brewstew · 24/09/2021 19:18

DH cooked me risotto and spoon fed it to me as I breastfed newborn DC3.
