My apologies for letting the prior thread fill up before opening this one.

Its DS sponsored walk day which resulted in DS being shutdown for 15 minutes as he hates non uniform and DH was playing guess the problem and normally DD and I do guess the problem. Fortunately DD knew immediately but then stayed 15 minutes to make sure her brother was OK before leaving so now she was very late for school to add to her uniform issue. I have managed to negiotate a uniform exemption now I am trying for a small autistic brother exemption but she is definitely pushing her luck there.

Carpenter here at 9am.

Silkie Autism surely makes life challenging and it does not get easier with time.
DS has chosen Autism and the changes in diagnostic criteria with regards to schooling as his topic for the 5PK - but if I do not sit next to him he'd behave like a deer in headlights and nothing would get done.
And his DSis is heading for a breakdown (non medicated ADD with AS traits)

So sorry to hear about your DD Prok I hope things will get better for her mental health.

My DS is the same with any writing subjects, they panic him, maths does by himself, but writing I have to do, he gets especially frustrated with long things, one line things are not so bad.

No sign of carpenter, he said 9am to 10am but hoping that he will come. I assumed it meant 9am to 10am but I looked again and it was more vague.

Oww just remembered my Russian. I have probably lost my streak now with hospital day.

Carpenter is here though carpenter keeps suggesting great ideas and dh keeps suggesting silly ones like knocking half a plasterboard wall down. Thankflly carpenter is doing my role for me and pointing out it would not be stable and would look naff. Its just dh doesnt want to pay for radiator to be moved so he is trying to save the 1 metre of wall its on.

Carpenter also suggested some good stairs then dh suggested making them much steeper with more turns. Carpenter was but said I will measure. Hoping this will not be possible as we will never get some furniture upstairs.

The carpenter suggested we get rid of Silkiecats shelf and Dh said fine There will be another girl having words with dh.

Now its the kitchen and I have just heard DH say to the carpenter how do you do this, then I may do the carpentry myself. Thankfully he seems to have rethought this one by himself and is asking for a full kitchen quote.

Silkie Pity you are sick - Otherwise you could find important things for your DH to do - preferably outside?

DH is very useful inside, Silkiecat wont go outside normally, he is providing first rate 24 hour nursing services and cooking atm, definitely keeping him. But not his black wood staircase suggestion. Though he seems to have excited the carpenter with his four turn steep staircase, no idea how furniture will go up that, guess we will be using IKEA. The carpenter was great and said will send through quotes and pictures of staircases and he entered the house and said oh this is rabbits room to our front room, then ow this is cats room to our dining room so he had our house worked out and he seemed to love animals. Sure bunny would love to help him but he eats wood.

I have missed last 2 antibiotics, they do seem to give me nausea a lot this time, think its as cant eat anything. I wasnt sure when they said infection if they knew if it was bacterial or a virus. I so want to sleep but you cant with this. Am trying the brat diet but its failing. I think i will just put myself down.

Silkie, which antibiotic did they give you? Can you speak to someone about switching you to another one or discontinuing them? If they are just precautionary it's not worth it if you can't eat.

Its doxycline 7 days, 2 a day, normally fine with. The not being able to eat started before so not sure if that is just the illness but I am not sure if they know I have a bacterial infection, they just said covid plus long covid plus infection take antibiotics. But not sure if they are precautionary antibiotics or they know I have a bacterial infection. I just cannot tolerate them at the moment. I have all the blood test results but no idea what happened to stool sample, they said not food poisioning, probably long covid or maybe d&v bug which would have thought implies virus and I havent been anywhere as ill so most likely is long covid. I cant speak to hospital as too busy, could ask gp but will take 48 hours or so before they reply. I am inclined just to stop and see how it goes so can get some sleep then maybe restart later but dont really know what I am doing. They make me very nauseas think its as no food inside me but I cant keep anything in me. Chest xray clear. Both my ears are blocked but i didnt mention that so doubt its that. The gp said before they dont have access to hospital tests though that is strange as old gp did I thought, i can log on to them.

There is some risk of a secondary bacterial infection with covid, but it's not especially common.

How many days have you been on them? You have to weigh the negative impact of not eating with the relatively minor risk of infection. You could also put the question to your GP and wait until they get back to you.

Thanks very much. I just remembered it is Friday so it goes to 111 but I dont think they have records either.

Dh also just also asked me how many I have taken. I am so tired I am not sure but I started with 14 of them and seem to have 10 left so I guess I took 4 but one was not at right time as at hospital. I had 1 Tues night I think, 2 on Wed maybe then was at hospital Thursday 4am to 12pm ish so maybe took 1 around 3pm ish then i dont think I have had more. They seem to definitely be causing bad nausea about an hour after taking them. Nothing improved but may have been too early but I often find they are quick to work when they do. I dont know if i will be able to eat without them but think worth a try.

If you have a bacterial infection it usually improves quite quickly once you start antibiotics, but four doses taken unevenly isn't really giving it a fair chance.

Fun medical fact: Most antibiotics can only kill bacteria when their cells divide as they replicate, briefly exposing the cell interior. Most bacteria reproduce every 12-24 hours, hence the rapid improvement.

Congratulations, @Mamamamasaurus. Job interviews take practice, so good that you've had one even if you don't get an offer.

One other thing about antibiotics. Some bacteria reproduce very slowly, like tuberculosis, and therefore require a much longer course of antibiotics.

Another week has ended, and it's noticeably darker around 6pm than it was seven days ago. I saw a long range weather forecast on the local TV news tonight. We are apparently in a La Niña pattern this year. I didn't pay a lot of attention to details of what this is. My ears were pricked for the important word 'snow'. We are to have a lot of it.

DS had his moderna booster today and felt a bit out of it before hitting the hay.

DH has gone out to his second job (volunteer delivering for a pharmacy) and I’m off to take DC4 to play in a football match. It’s our 17th wedding anniversary!
