My mum has just been rushed into hospital

She had a bad headache, wanted to be sick and seemed confused/weak. She's not well in general but I've never seen her look so bad. She's been positive with Covid too so came to stay with me so I could keep an eye on her.

I'm fucking terrified. Have to wait for a couple of hours before I can ring the hospital and I'm just numb. My dad is no help. I need to tell my sister but don't want to worry her until I know something.

I don't even know why I'm posting, just need to get it out I think

Oh, OP, What an awful situation. You and your Mum are in my thoughts tonight. Sending love and strength. FlowersFlowers

DukeOfEarlGrey · 09/09/2021 22:48

Sending you love and strength OP Flowers Keep taking care of yourself and focussing on the practical steps. I hope your dear mum pulls through xx

QueenFreesia2021 · 09/09/2021 22:48

Ah what a shame 😞 that makes things so much more difficult. Is there another close relative that could be with her?

Sending my love and strength to you and your Dmum WinkThanks

QuestionableMouse · 09/09/2021 23:02

Thank you. No one is allowed to go unfortunately.

I really want to go to bed but don't want to miss the call, if they ring.

Keep your phone on loud and try to rest. You need your strength. They will call you multiple times if needed, you won't miss it.

PalacesOfMontezuma · 09/09/2021 23:05

I would try and get some sleep, can you keep the phone by your bed? I know sleep might be easier said than done but it could be a long time before you hear anything

Loubiemoo · 09/09/2021 23:07

You need to get some rest @QuestionableMouse. She could be in for a while so make sure you look after yourself as well.

MissMarpleRocks · 09/09/2021 23:10

FlowersFlowers sending thoughts your way. But you must try & rest. Easier said than done I know. Have the phone by your bed & hopefully you’ll manage a few hours sleep.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 09/09/2021 23:12

Thinking of you and indeed your mum. You must tell your sister though. Its not fair that the worry is just on you. Not only that but she has A right to know

QueenFreesia2021 · 09/09/2021 23:13

Put your phone on loud and have it next to you. I dare say you won’t fall in to a deep sleep, so you won’t miss a call.

You could call back one last tile just as you get into bed, that way you might be able to rest knowing you’ve had a recent update.

Sending love and strength Flowers

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 09/09/2021 23:14

Definitely get as much rest as you can. You're going to need your strength and energy. You certainly won't miss any phone calls your body may be resting but your subconscious will be on high alert.

spiderlight · 09/09/2021 23:16

Offering another hand to hold. I hope you manage to get some sleep.

LifeIsTricky · 09/09/2021 23:19

NC recently I used to work at North Tees intensive care, they will look after her. I promise. They also won't ring you overnight at all unless there is a serious deterioration, you're likely not to hear anything until after morning rounds so PLEASE rest. Please. You can't pour from an empty cup, your Mam needs you to take care of yourself too

QuestionableMouse · 09/09/2021 23:20

I've got the phone in bed with me. Gonna try to get some sleep.

Thank you all ❤️

Flidina · 09/09/2021 23:21

So sorry for your mum OP, I know North Tees well, my daughter was in intensive care there and they were amazing, she will be well looked after, sending positive thoughts and strength at this difficult time.

Thewiseoneincognito · 09/09/2021 23:21

OP I hope she’s ok. As others have said, she’s in the best place possible they will do everything they can to help her.

Rest and get some sleep, it’s hard to appreciate now but you must take care of yourself before you can look after others it makes a huge difference.

TheLoverOfTea · 09/09/2021 23:23

Hope she's ok OP, stay positive. x

Alternista · 09/09/2021 23:25

Hope she turns a corner overnight and you manage to sleep, OP Flowers

I hope you get some decent sleep OP and best wishes for you all xx

Joystir59 · 09/09/2021 23:48

Hoping you get some sleep OP. Your mum's being taken good care of, there isn't anything you can do right now.
