What takeaway would you like but can't get where you live?

DH just ordered a Chinese takeaway...and I'm sat here thinking how much I would love some sushi delivered Blush

We live in a small country town where there is a chinese, pizza and kebab shop.

Which speciality takeaway would you love to be able to order but can't, either because it isn't available anywhere or just not in your location?

Vietnamese

Covetthee · 01/09/2021 21:06

Sushi for me too, the only place that does sushi delivery is our waitrose one but they dont deliver after 12pm for some reason

UnfinishedBunting · 01/09/2021 21:07

Anything 😄, but mostly Dominoes

Rainbowshit · 01/09/2021 21:08

Thai or Korean.

UnfinishedBunting · 01/09/2021 21:08

^Dominos

00100001 · 01/09/2021 21:08

Korean

Nigerian or Ghanaian. We used to be able to but not anymore Sad. I crave jollof rice, fried plantain, yam balls and shito.

I can make a passable jollof and my plantain is pretty good but it still isn’t quite the same.

We can get most things but I really miss a 'proper' fishcake from the chippy. They're really weird here in Yorkshire Confused

I used to be really annoyed that I couldn't get Wagamamas - they delivered to within half a mile of me. However, they now deliver here too (which has cost a small fortune) Blush

LineofFruity · 01/09/2021 21:12

Vietnamese!

But actually I’d like to just get able to get a Chinese delivered, and I’m in the South East and not really that remote!

MrsDThomas · 01/09/2021 21:19

No uber. No just eat. Infact, no one delivers.

Which i love.

LadyJaye · 01/09/2021 21:19

Ethiopian.

I live in Glasgow, so not exactly out in the sticks, but I miss the amazing range of food from the African continent I could get when in London.

JackieCollinshasnoauthority · 01/09/2021 21:21

Sushi! I spent the whole of the pandemic craving sushi because the nearest place is 30 miles away.

bookh · 01/09/2021 21:24

Any, nearest town with just a chippy is an hour, everything else at least 1.5 hours. No takeaways here. Sad

Crunchymum · 01/09/2021 21:25

We live very centrally and we have Ubereats / Deliveroo / JustEat etc but nowhere seems to do a decent roast dinner option? Some Sunday's I'd kill for a good roast I don't have to cool but I guess they don't transport well / aren't financially viable.

Crunchymum · 01/09/2021 21:26

cool = cook

Normandy144 · 01/09/2021 21:26

Sushi or Vietnamese. Our closest sushi is too far away for them to deliver. No Vietnamese anywhere nearby sadly.

TakeMeToYourLiar · 01/09/2021 21:28

This thread is making me want to try Vietnamese

I wish the local Levantine place delivered

Dobbyhasnomaster · 01/09/2021 21:28

Sushi! I have to click and collect currently and I’m far too lazy to do that regularly 🤣

TheChosenTwo · 01/09/2021 21:30

I really fancied a Wagamama’s this evening but they’re too far out to deliver to us Sad
We live in quite a multicultural town, can get a lot of different types of takeaway but a wagas would have really hit the spot.

CMOTDibbler · 01/09/2021 21:31

We can only get manky pizza or quite nice Indian (but delivery time very random) delivered, or nice burgers three days a week.
In reasonable driving time we can have fish and chips, pizza, indian, said burgers, kebab, or thai if you really get your order in early.
So basically most things would be good, but chinese would be a very welcome choice.

Suprima · 01/09/2021 21:32

I have every cuisine near me- but every chippy tea has been an absolute disappointment. So a good chip shop.

Allthesefolks · 01/09/2021 21:35

A proper shish kebab in a naan, not a crappy pitta or wrap (Abduls I miss you!)

Steak and kidney pudding (not pie) from the chip shop.

We can get most stuff (although not African) and have lovely sushi and Thai options so I can’t complain really.

BrilliantBetty · 01/09/2021 21:35

I used to live near a really good Caribbean restaurant who would deliver. Miss it.

I'd settle for a good Indian though. Always arrives cold from the place round here. Disappointing to have to heat things up.

DoubleShotEspresso · 01/09/2021 21:41
